THE THREE FLYERS tussled in the sky. Spectral Vision grabbed onto his opposite colored clone and tried to hurl him away. Specter grabbed a hold of the assailant and put it in a headlock, but it phased out of his arms and elbowed the man on the face.

Spectral Vision flew at Vision, but he became intangible and caused his clone to fly through his body. Vision hovered near Specter as they looked at the White Vision.

"Might we resolve this peacefully?" Vision asked.

"Wanda Maximoff must be neutralized...and you must be destroyed." It responded.

"But then you'll still be stuck with me." Y/N said and soared toward Spectral Vision. He brawled with it, and the white synthezoid grabbed at his face with all five fingers, beginning to tighten its grip. Vision flew in and grappled onto his clone like Y/N did before.

"I guess peace is a no then."

With Specter free, he punched the abdomen of the White Vision before also clocking its face. The robot escaped Vision's hold then grabbed both his neck and Y/N's, flying down towards the earth as they continued to struggle.

Before hitting the ground, Vision and Y/N got the upper hand and caused White Vision to take most of the impact. It didn't do much though, as the synthezoid rose from the rubble and grabbed onto Y/N's leg. He flew back into the sky with Spectral Vision holding on, and Hex Vision followed.

WANDA DESCENDED ONTO the street as her eyes darted around the area. Cars drove by and Westview residents walked along the sidewalks going about their day like they were scripted to do so.

She walked along the road looking for any sign of Agatha. Suddenly, an orb of purple energy hit her back and shoved her several feet forward.

"Wanda..." Agatha spoke from up near the billboard above, "...you've never been up against another witch before. Did you know there's an entire chapter devoted to you in the Darkhold? That's the book of the damned."

Using her powers, Agatha conjured the Darkhold in front of her. She started to flip through the pages until she reached the section detailing the Scarlet Witch.

"The Scarlet Witch is not born, she is forged. She has no coven, no need for incantation." Agatha read.

"I'm not a witch. I don't cast spells. No one taught me magic!" Wanda shouted.

"Your power exceeds that of the Sorcerer Supreme. It's your destiny to destroy the world."

Wanda opened up her arms, "I'm not what you say I am."

"Oh, really?" Agatha didn't believe that at all. She used her magic to free Dottie below from the mind control. The blonde gasped as she looked at Wanda.

"Wanda?"

"Dottie?"

"My name is Sarah. I have a daughter. She's eight. Maybe she could be friends with your girl." She pleaded, "If you like that storyline. Or, uh, the school bully, even. Really, anything. If you could just let her out of her room. If I could just hold her. Please."

Wanda turned to Agatha above, "What are you doing to her? You're making her say this."

"She's your meat puppet. I just cut her strings." She replied, then began to chant in Latin as her magic circulated through the town. Everybody around Wanda was free of the control, and walked toward her.

Herb, who's real name was John, began to scold Wanda.

"I don't recognize my face in the mirror, my voice when I speak. I used to try to resist you, but now, I can't remember why. Do you?"

Bev, who's real name was Isabel, spoke to her as well.

"My husband's on a business trip. Tell him I love him and not to come back here ever."

"I'm exhausted." Dennis, the mailman, said.

"No, you're fine." Wanda replied, then started to look at each of them, "You're fine. You're all...you're all going to be fine."

Norm, who's real name was Abilash, responded, "When you let us sleep, we have your nightmares."

"No, that's not true. I've...I've kept you safe in here. You...you feel...you feel at peace."

"We feel your pain." Sarah said.

"Your grief is poisoning us." Mrs. Hart, who's real name was Sharon, added.

"Please, let us go." Abilash pleaded.

"I wanna get back home." John told her.

Voices began to overlap as everybody pleaded and shouted at Wanda. She started to panic, not knowing how to defuse the situation.

Let us go.

Please.

Let us go.

Please.

Let us go.

Wanda let out a scream and covered her ears, unknowingly wrapping the necks of each resident with psionic energy. They all got on their knees as they began choking.

"No..." Wanda opened her eyes and noticed her mistake. She waved her hands and undid the action, "Stop. I'm sorry."

Sharon gasped for air as she looked up at Wanda, "If you won't let us go, just let us die. Please."

Tears ran down Wanda's face. She didn't mean to cause all of this pain.

"I will let you go. I will. I will."

"What's stopping you?" Agatha asked after witnessing the whole ordeal, "Use your power and do it now. Heroes don't torture people."

Wanda looked down at her hands. Agatha was right. This is not what she wanted. She never wanted to be seen as a villain again, especially after Sokovia...South Africa...Lagos.

With a yell, she opened up her arms and expelled a beam of energy into the sky. The Hex surrounding Westview started to open, with several doors forming throughout its perimeter.

"Go! All of you, now. Go!" Wanda exclaimed as she hold the doors open.

People screamed and ran as the environment around them changed from 50's era, to 60's, to 70's, and so on.

Agatha let out a cackle, "Now you'll see."

THE TWO HEROES fought the Spectral Vision nearby. Hex Vision shot a beam from his Mind Stone and tried to hit his clone while it did the same. Specter shot beams from his hands too, but the White Vision evaded each attack.

Vision waited for the right moment and blasted at him again. The two Vision's beam's collided and the duel ensued. It kept Spectral Vision occupied, and Y/N charged up his hands to shoot at it.

Suddenly, his powers began to glitch as he noticed his glowing suit starting to flicker. A similar situation happened with Vision, his beam becoming weaker. As the Hex started opening up, it seemed to weaken them. Spectral Vision successfully shot down Vision and the synthezoid plummeted towards the earth.

Y/N reverted back and forth from his Specter form to his civilian one. He fell down towards the town as well, ultimately crashing on top of a parked car by the library. "Argh!"

Vision had crashed on the road, creating a crater and grunting upon impact. He tried to get back up, but he noticed pieces of himself beginning to dissipate into the wind.

Wanda noticed this, then also heard cries behind her. Tommy made it to the scene with Billy and Vivian, but were also starting to disappear.

"Mom!"

"Help, mom!"

"What...? No..." Wanda breathed out.

Y/N groaned as he dropped down from the roof of the car. He looked up and was witnessing it all unfold.

"Now do you see?" Agatha asked, "You tied your family to this twisted world. And now one can't exist without it the other." She smirked, "Save Westview or save your family."

Her kids and Vision were close to fully vanishing. She didn't want to see them gone. She grunted and cried as she stopped opening the Hex, letting it close again.

WANDA DROPPED ONTO the floor. Y/N got on his feet and saw that Vision and his kids were fully re-formed. He ran to Wanda and helped her up.

"Mom! Dad! Are you okay?" Vivian asked as the family embraced.

Agatha looked down at them before shooting an energy beam. Wanda reacted, and formed a force-field that protected each of them. But this was what Agatha wanted, and ultimately sucked a good amount of power from Wanda into herself.

Wanda panted as she looked at her dark and shriveled hands. Y/N looked at it in worry as Billy asked, "Mom, are you okay?" Wanda gave a simple nod.

Agatha flew above them, "How sweet."

Behind them was also Spectral Vision. Tommy looked to his right and saw something, "Uh, dad?"

Several S.W.O.R.D vehicles rolled up to the middle of town where they stood. Soldiers holding rifles exited them.

Y/N, Wanda, Vision, and the children all stuck near each other, getting into a defensive stance.

"Listen, kids." Y/N began to say as he reverted into his Specter form, "Your mother and I never really prepared you for this."

"But you were born for it." Wanda added.

Y/N and Vision immediately went for Spectral Vision before it can charge at them. They brawled until White Vision grabbed Hex Vision and threw him through the doors of the library. Specter immediately flew over and punched it, causing the evil counterpart to crash through the wall of the building.

Y/N got into the library in time to see Vision get back on his feet. Spectral Vision got up from the pile of wood and books and faced them.

"Why are you doing this?" Vision asked.

"My programming directive is to destroy the Vision." It replied, then quickly shot a beam towards them.

Specter formed a force field and deflected the blast, then quickly flew and pinned the synthezoid against a pillar. It phased out of his grasp and kicked Y/N into the same pillar, causing it to collapse onto him.

Spectral Vision dashed at Vision and uppercutted him onto the second floor of the library. It hovered above him and shot a beam down, but Vision phased through the floor and quickly flanked it, getting behind the robot and putting it in a chokehold.

"But I'm not the true Vision. Only a conditional Vision." He told it.

Spectral Vision phased out of his grasp and was ready to shoot Vision. Both synthezoids faced each other, preparing to battle again, but the white counterpart held his fire and looked down.

"I request elaboration."

The two levitated in the middle of the library facing each other. Y/N got out from beneath debris and groaned, looking up at the two who initiated conversation.

"You are familiar with the thought experiment the Ship of Theseus in the field of identity metaphysics?" Vision asked.

"Naturally." Spectral Vision answered, "The Ship of Theseus is an artifact in a museum. Over time, its planks of wood rot and are replaced with new planks. When no original planks remains, is it still the Ship of Theseus?"

"Secondly, if those removed planks are restored and reassembled, free of the rot, is that the Ship of Theseus?"

"Neither is the true ship. Both are the true ship."

"Well, then, we are agreed."

Spectral Vision thought for a moment, "But I do not have the Mind Stone."

"And I do not have one single ounce of original material." Vision replied, "Perhaps, the rot is the memories. The wear and tear are the voyages. The wood touched by Theseus himself."

"I have not retained memories."

"But you do have the data. It is merely being kept from you."

"A weapon to be more easily controlled." Spectral Vision understood now what it was being used for, "But, certainly, you are the true Vision, for you believe yourself to be."

Vision nodded, "That was once the case. But upon meeting you, I have been disabused of that notion."

He started to get closer to his white counterpart.

"As a carbon-based synthezoid, your memory storage is not so easily wiped." Vision reached over at its face, but the other synthezoid flinched back.

"May I?" Vision asked.

Spectral Vision obliged, and let Vision touch the glowing blue shape on its forehead.

In an instant, memories filled the storage bank of the synthezoid. It saw when Thor first used lighting to birth him, its battle with the Avengers versus Ultron, its relationship with Y/N and Wanda, the battle in Wakanda, and then its death at the hands of Thanos.

Once finished, The White Vision's eyes changed from an all blue robotic look to a normal white with pupils.

He tilted his head along with Hex Vision, processing all that he had just seen.

He was a sentient weapon no more. He was somebody. He was Vision.

"I am Vision." He said, then flew through the skylight of the library. Hex Vision looked up as Y/N hovered over beside him.

The man had witnessed it all. He understood now that the Vision who flew away was the Vision rebuilt from the parts of his old friend. With his memories now restored, he was the real Vision.

"So, what do you think he does now?" Y/N asked Hex Vision.

The synthezoid kept on looking out of the broken skylight, "I don't know. But now he has the freedom to make that choice."
