MORNING CAME AND went. Y/N was in the dining room eating what had been left of their breakfast while his brothers were still up in their rooms.
Lois came into the room and saw her son. He was already putting away his dish when she called him over.
"Can I talk to you for a bit?"
Y/N turned to her. "Uh...okay."
"Outside." She said and walked off.
The teenager let out a sigh. He had an inkling of what she wanted to discuss, likely the whole situation with him moonlighting as a vigilante back in Fawcett City. He figured they'd talk about it since she didn't get to do so last night.
Y/N met with Lois outside on the porch. She had sat down and motioned the boy to the seat next to her.
"Come on."
He nodded and sat down, leaning back against the chair and exhaling. Y/N decided to speak first.
"I assume this is about the...stuff I've been doing back in Fawcett City?"
"Uh, I was going to get there...but I wanted to talk to you about what my Dad said."
Lois figured that he had eavesdropped on what Sam told her about her choice of marrying Clark and raising Y/N. He wasn't going to admit it, but he did in fact overhear his statements on his way to his room.
"Oh." He replied, looking down. "IโI only heard a bit of it."
She arched a brow. "Only a bit?"
"Okay. Pretty much the entire thing."
Lois sighed. Y/N folded his hands in front of him and leaned forward.
"I get it must've got you thinking when he told you that." He added.
"It did," Lois admitted. "It had me...recalling certain times of my life."
Y/N nodded, now looking forward. Lois continued.
"When I first met your Dad. Him proposing to me. Him bringing you over when he found you. Me holding you for the first time."
Y/N glanced at Lois. She softly smiled and reached over to touch his arm.
"I understood what I was getting into. Along with the pleasantries, I knew there were going to be hardships, and I was willing to take them all on. I still go through them now...we all do. And still, I wouldn't change a thing."
Y/N smiled. He was so appreciative of Lois and her motherly love. The moment he was having with her along with the talk he had with Clark last night really cleared all the grim feelings he was having the last few weeks.
He nodded and patted the top of Lois's hand that was on his arm. Lois kept smiling back.
"I wish General Gramps was able to hear that." Y/N jested. "Now I kinda get why he's been the way he is with me. Since I'm not really..."
Lois understood that there was still room for improvement in the relationship between her dad and Y/N. Sam Lane never really saw the boy as a grandson since he knew of his origin. There was still a level of respect between the two, but a grandfather-grandson bond was never present.
"Hey, he still cares. He just has...a weird way of showing it." Lois replied. "Trust me, I know. He raised me."
Y/N chuckled.
"Now I'm curious. How'd he react when you named me after your grandpa?"
Lois grinned. She in fact did name Y/N after her grandfather, General Lane's dad. She recalled the time he found out.
"He cried." She said.
"Yeah, right." Y/N scoffed. "Probably tears of...disgust."
"Pfft. No. It's hard to believe...but he was happy."
Y/N let out a quick chuckle and then smiled. Lois touched the top of his arm again.
"My dad knows what I think about all this. About the life I have right now." Lois reassured him. "I can't imagine a world where Clark isn't my husband and you aren't my son."
Y/N beamed. He took her hand and kissed the top of it.
"And I can't imagine one where you aren't my mom." He replied.
"Yeah. Those worlds must suck." She remarked.
Y/N chuckled and Lois did as well. After the quiet, the woman spoke up.
"So, about you beating up hoodlums..."
At the same time, Clark came out onto the porch. He saw his wife and son and had the truck keys in hand.
"Oh. Hey." He gestured toward the car in the yard and spoke to Lois. "Ready to go?"
The teenager let out a quiet sigh of relief. Lois smirked and patted the top of his arm.
"We will talk about it when we get back." She got up from the seat. "I'm not one to forget."
"I know," Y/N replied with a chuckle. "Where you guys going again?"
"To the bank. Lana called me so we can talk about the property." Clark replied.
"Everything all right with it?"
"Nothing to worry about."
Y/N nodded. Clark walked off the porch with Lois.
"Watch your brothers." She told him. "We'll be back soon."
"You can count on me." He replied with a two-finger salute.
Lois smirked and walked away with Clark. Y/N went into the yard as he saw them enter the truck and drive off. With hands in his pockets, he started walking back to the house.
Suddenly, he heard the familiar chirp in his ear. He honed in on his super hearing and ended up taking in the sounds of tires screeching and people screaming.
Knowing where it was coming from, he immediately started running. In a flash, he flew into the sky and left the farm.
There was a pileup on the Skyway Toll Bridge in rainy Chicago. Many cars had crashed into each other and one was even on the verge of dropping into the river below. People were trapped and there was also a gas tank truck that was on its side.
The vehicle dangling from the broken barrier was close to dropping. The couple inside fearfully panicked and didn't know what to do. Soon, the balance gave away and it fell from the bridge. The man and woman inside screamed.
But then, their descent was halted suddenly. They were confused about what had happened until the man looked out the windshield...seeing a young man holding the vehicle up from the front.
Y/N had his black shirt on with jeans, his usual getup when acting as a superhuman. Rain fell on him as he lifted the car back up onto the bridge. He immediately went over to open the door.
"Go!" He ushered the couple out.
They immediately heeded his advice and ran off. Y/N then looked back at the rest of the pileup, using his X-ray vision to see how many people were trapped.
There were about five vehicles, two with single riders, one with another couple, one with two people and a dog, and another with a family of three. Then...there was the tanker that also had a driver.
He dashed over to one of the cars that was pinned against a railing by another car. Y/N pushed the other vehicle aside and freed them.
Suddenly, a leak coming from the nearby gas tank truck ignited. Y/N didn't need his enhanced smell to know about it. Soon, the tanker would explode and take out everyone nearby.
Y/N used his super speed to run at the other car with the family. They were sandwiched between two other empty cars and couldn't get out.
"Help!"
The young man lifted one of the cars and dropped it aside, allowing the side doors to be opened. Y/N quickly ushered them out and directed them down the road.
The mother grabbed his arm. "Thank you so much!"
"Go, quickly!"
Y/N immediately dashed to the two single riders, letting them out of their wrecked cars. He then went to the car with three people and their dog.
"The door!" The young driver exclaimed from inside. "It's jammed!"
Y/N quickly ripped the door off the car.
The man was astounded but also kind of mad that he did that to his precious SUV.
"Bro!"
"I'm sure your insurance can cover it," Y/N interjected. "Get out!"
The man got out and so did the passengers. Y/N opened the other door and allowed the dog to jump out. They all ran down the road.
All that was left was the driver of the overturned gas tanker. Y/N flew over to it and dropped down where the front cab was.
The driver was going in and out of consciousness. Y/N punched into the top of the cab and quickly peeled back the steel, making an opening for him to drag the man out.
Once he did, the flame from the leak ultimately reached the tanker. In an instant, the entire truck exploded.
People across the bridge, including those Y/N saved, were in shock. The explosion rumbled the area and flames shot up. They all looked on toward the blaze.
Moments later, they saw a figure come out from within the smoke. It was Y/N, carrying the semi-conscious truck driver in his arms. The people were in awe at the sight.
After making some distance from the smoke and debris, Y/N carefully put him down. Since he heard incoming paramedics and firefighters, the young man decided to fly off.
Some time later, the authorities were in the area tending to those who were involved and/or injured. They even questioned them and all they could talk about was about their mysterious savior...one that bore the same symbol as Superman.
One of the kids that he saved, a 6-year-old boy, was with his parents as they were being questioned. Upon looking up, he spotted a figure and pointed.
"Mom! Mom! Look!"
In the distance, Y/N stood on one of the arches from the bridge looking down at the scene. The rain kept pouring down on him.
He soared away moments later. The boy's mom finally decided to turn to her son and questioned him.
"What is it, Dick?" She asked.
The boy kept looking up as he pointed to where he saw the young hero.
"I saw Superman, Mom!"

BACK AT THE Kent Farm, Jordan and Jonathan decided to investigate the barn. For all of last night, all Jordan could think about was the incident they endured.
They entered the back shack and walked through. Jonathan still was weary about being in there and also thinking his brother was overreacting.
"You really think Dad's hiding something from us?" He asked Jordan.
Jordan held a crowbar as he walked through the room, in case there was another thing he needed to open.
"We had all those poles land on us. Besides, how did he and Y/N get them up off of us so fast, anyway?"
"I don't know. Adrenaline, maybe?" Jon replied. "Like a soccer mom lifting a car kind of thing."
"Dad can't put up a Christmas tree without falling off the ladder. And when's the last time you've seen Y/N lift?"
Jon scoffed. Jordan continued.
"And what's the thing Dad says every single time we come here?"
"Uh...don't put your finger in that. I don't know." Jonathan chuckled.
Jordan rolled his eyes.
"Stay out of the barn." He corrected. "Dumbass."
They walked through a door and entered the barn. Jordan looked around as Jonathan let out a sigh.
"Jordan, what are we looking for, anyway?"
"Just something unusual. Something out of place."
"Well, can we hurry up? Not sure when Mom and Dad are getting back and Y/N's gonna start wondering where we are."
"Don't worry. He's probably still up in his room thinking of what to text that girlfriend of his."
"Oh, so already a step ahead of you with Sarah."
Jordan scoffed and pushed Jonathan. He kept looking around until he felt something beneath his feet and heard creaking. He stopped.
"What?" Jonathan asked.
"You hear that?" Jordan stepped on the floor and felt the loose floorboard.
"The poles, they must have shifted the floor." Jonathan said.
Jordan kicked away some hay. He noticed that it wasn't just a loose floorboard.
"I think it's a door."
Jon was intrigued and helped him move away some hay too. They ultimately saw a latch with a lock on it, which Jordan broke with his crowbar.
The boys lifted the door and saw the dark room below. Jonathan grabbed a flashlight and went down the ladder with his brother.
"This is literally just an old cellar," Jonathan said. "It's probably Grandpa's old tool storage or something."
Jordan didn't say anything and kept looking. They walked through the dimly lit room until Jordan spotted something in the corner of the room underneath a dirtied tarp.
"Jon."
His brother saw it too. They both walked up and shined the flashlight on it.
"Come on." Jordan said.
With Jon's help, Jordan pulled the large tarp off. The brothers looked on at the pod-like object in confusion.
"What is that thing?" Jon asked.
Jordan didn't respond and instinctively reached out to it. Jonathan thought he was crazy and shouted.
"What are you doing? Do not touch that!"
Once Jordan's fingertips touched the pod, it vibrated and let out a hum. Jordan flinched and Jonathan jumped back.
"Oh, my God! Did you see that?" Jonathan exclaimed. "Did you see that? What the hell was that? No, no, no. What was that?"
Jordan was still entranced by the pod. He slowly reached out to it again. Jonathan spoke up.
"Jordan, what are you..."
As he got closer, a hole formed in the pod and ejected a Kryptonian sunstone. It floated into Jordan's hand and it soon closed back up.
"What the hell is that thing?" Jon asked.
"Whatever it is..." Jordan looked back at him. "It's not from Kansas."
Suddenly, they heard commotion above in the barn. Before they can think of what to do or where to go, Y/N climbed down the ladder and entered the cellar.
"What are you guys doing in here?" He asked as he stepped down.
They didn't respond. Y/N saw them and also caught the sunstone in Jordan's hand. The last thing he noticed was Clark's pod in the corner.
"Oh..."
Jordan went up to him. "Look at this! Why does Dad have all this alien shit in here?"
"Give me that." Y/N simply said and reached for the stone.
Jordan played keep-away. Y/N still tried to get the sunstone.
"Bro, give it to me."
"No! We have to show Dad."
"We don't have to do anything."
Y/N wrestled for the stone until he ultimately got a hand on it. Suddenly, it began to glow and get brighter, which startled the two boys. Jordan let go and Y/N took the sunstone.
It continued to glow and emit a hum. Y/N gazed at the stone as it reacted to his pure Kryptonian body. Both Jordan and Jonathan were baffled at what they were seeing.
"What the hell is it doing?" Jon asked. "What are you doing to it?"
Y/N didn't know what to say. There was nothing really to say. They believed it was of alien origin and it was reacting strongly to their older brother. Y/N had an inkling of what they could be thinking.
The young man dropped the stone and it stopped glowing. Y/N just stood there, not saying anything as he tried to think of something.
"Uh..."
Not wanting to wait for his words, Jordan quickly picked up the sunstone and went over to the ladder. Jonathan followed him and they climbed out of the cellar.
"Wait!" Y/N called out and went after them.
Clark and Lois made it back home. They were parked in front of the house and talking about what they dealt with at the bank.
Lana had told them about the reverse mortgages Martha took out over the years in order to help a couple of neighbors with their expenses. Now they either had to pay back the loan or sell the farm entirely.
"All my memories, my childhood, my parents...they're all here," Clark said. "Why would my mom want me to come home just to sell the farm?"
Lois had been looking out the window as he spoke. She turned to him.
"I don't think she wanted you to sell it. I think she wanted you to save it."
"How? You know, we're not exactly flush with cash, especially after getting fired."
"I don't know yet. But those reverse mortgages weren't because the bank was feeling generous. You may have super strength and super hearing, but I have super smell and those loans don't smell right."
Clark nodded and looked out the window. He understood his wife's hunch that the bank was probably up to something nefarious. That was just her investigative nature.
"I do have super smell, by the way," Clark remarked. "I just don't use it very often, you know, not with two teenage boys in the house. Kinda gross."
"You mean three?" Lois asked.
"Oh, Y/N? I don't worry about his smell. We Kryptonians don't sweat so we rarely have any body odor. Our natural scent is like...sandalwood."
Lois chuckled. "I sleep beside you every day. I don't smell sandalwood."
"Must've gotten used to it, then."
Outside in the distance, Lois saw their sons come out of the barn. Jordan and Jonathan were stomping toward them with Y/N following close behind.
"Speaking of teenage boys, I see a couple of very upset ones."
Lois exited the truck. Clark spotted them as well and got out of the vehicle too. Jordan, Jonathan, and Y/N finally reached them.
"So that's why?" Jordan exclaimed, the sunstone still in hand. "That's why you never wanted us in the barn? 'Cause you keep a freakin' alien ship in there?"
"Look, I can explain." Clark said.
Y/N spoke. "Dad..."
"Yeah, can you?" Jordan shouted. "Can you explain how I fell 30 feet and nothing happened?"
Jonathan looked at Jordan. "Just give himโ"
"All you said is that we got lucky." He interjected. "But that was a lie, wasn't it?"
"Yes," Clark replied. "Yes, okay? It was a lie."
The boys were quiet. Lois stood beside Clark in silence as the man gathered his thoughts and tried coming up with a way to explain everything. Y/N let out a sigh and stayed where he was.
"Look, that ship...brought me to Earth. Landed here in Smallville right in those cornfields over there. I was sent here when my planet, Krypton, was destroyed."
"KโKrypton?" Jon asked.
"Yes. Because I wasn't from here, I had certain powers. Your grandparents, they took me in. They raised me. They taught me how to control my abilities, how to blend in until the day I was ready to leave...and become who I was sent here to be."
Jonathan and his twin brother were quiet. It began to click for the former.
"You're saying...you're Superman?" Jon asked.
Jordan angrily stepped up to his father. "No, I've seen Superman. We've seen him."
Clark looked to the side and took a quick breath. He then took off his glasses, handed them to Lois, and stepped away.
They watched as Clark went over to their truck and lifted the back of it with ease. He held it up with one hand then fully went under it, carrying it over his head. Jon and Jordan looked on in awe.
Clark then went as far as flying up while carrying the truck. He floated in the air and looked down at his family. Lois turned to the stunned twins.
"When your father first told me I didn't understand either."
Clark dropped down and put the truck down. Jordan looked a Y/N and noticed his nonchalant reaction to everything. He started to have an inkling based on what he saw back at the barn.
"Andโand you? What..." He began. "Did you know?"
Y/N glanced at his parents before looking back at his younger brother. He also took off his glasses and stepped back.
In a flash, the young man ran into the house. They only felt the sudden breeze for a second before Y/N reappeared in front of them. He now had different clothes, sporting his leather jacket along with the black shirt with the crest of El. His brothers were baffled.
"Youโyou're the guy I heard about on Twitter." Jon stammered, mentioning the sighting of The Blur.
Y/N nodded, looking down as he fiddled with the glasses in his hand. He spoke up.
"IโI'm like Dad. From the same planet." Y/N said. "After some...time shenanigans, he...uh...found and raised me. I've had these abilities since I was a toddler."
Lois and Clark stayed quiet. Jordan was taking everything in. The hidden ship in the barn, the fact that his father was Superman, and how his older brother was also an alien. Y/N basically even admitted they weren't even related.
"I understand," Jordan said, looking down. "I understand all the excuses. All the times you were gone...times you'd randomly stay out with Y/N when we were little. You lied to us. You all did."
"He was saving lives, Jordan," Lois replied. "Also showing your brother how toโ"
"That doesn't make it less true!" He exclaimed, then started to cry. "You lied to protect their secrets. All the things I've been feeling. You made me think I was crazy. They put me on pills!"
Lois softly spoke. "Your mental health has nothing to do with yourโ"
"And how do you know that?" He gestured toward Clark. "I'm half human and half whatever the hell he is!"
"Don't take your anger out on Mom." Y/N scolded Jordan.
"Mom?" Jordan repeated. "How can you even say that when you're not even hers?! Or even related to us?!"
Y/N was taken aback by his remark. Clark stepped in as he didn't like what Jordan said.
"Hey! Watch your words!" He sternly said. "This is not their fault. I'm the one that didn't what you to know about his stuff."
"Why?" Jonathan asked.
"Because I knew what kind of burden it would be if you both had powers. Or worse, if one of you had them, and the other one...didn't."
Jordan stared at Clark. He noticed how he glanced at Jonathan when making the remark. There was a pause before he spoke up.
"You think he's the reason we survived yesterday."
Jon looked at him. "What are you talking about?"
"Go on, Dad," Jordan said. "Go tell Superboy 2.0 here why he's really so perfect."
Lois cut in. "We thought your athletic talents could be latent abilities starting to emerge and yesterday..."
"The only way both of you survived that accident is for at least one of you to be like me," Clark added, then gestured toward Y/N. "Like us."
"You wouldn't have it any other way, would you, Dad?" Jordan asked, then started to walk away.
Clark called out. "Jordan!"
"Don't try to talk to me, all right? You may have been sent here to be some hero but you sure as hell weren't sent here to be a father!"
Jordan turned around and kept walking. Y/N, feeling hurt by those words directed to Clark, called out and tried to follow.
"Jordan!"
Jonathan stepped in front of Y/N, stopping him. He could see the tears building up in his younger brother's eyes. Jonathan looked back at Y/N, now reeling from the fact the person before him, his older brother, wasn't even really his brother the entire time.
"Just...just leave us alone." He told Y/N.
Jonathan walked away too and followed Jordan. Y/N stood there, staring ahead and taking in a breath. Clark was behind him, also shaken by what just transpired.
Little by little, tears started to well in Y/N's eyes. He hated seeing how Jordan and Jonathan reacted but understood that they felt betrayed and lied to all these years. He really couldn't blame them. They needed time to take it in...the same way Y/N needed time when first finding out he was Zod's son.
Y/N turned around, seeing Lois and Clark. They noticed the eighteen-year-old tearing up and she went over to comfort him. But before she could, Y/N used his super speed to run off.
Lois took a breath and lowered her head. Clark looked past the dust that was kicked up from the dash and toward the direction Y/N ran. He also looked down solemnly before walking away.
Clark stayed outside. It started getting darker and the clouds above began to form, signaling the incoming showers.
He had his hands in his pockets, feeling the wind hit his face. Lois walked up and joined her husband, standing beside him and looking out at the field.
"Everything I do with the boys just..." Clark began. "...seems like it blows up in my face. Is Jordan right? AโAm I a bad father?"
Lois turned to him. "Clark..."
"'Cause right now, I..." His voice broke. "I feel like it's my fault that this is all falling apart."
Clark really felt that way. It all started with keeping the secret of Y/N's lineage from him for so long, which almost caused a strain between him and Y/N. Now with his twin boys finding out about his alter ego and about Y/N's powers, he feared there would be a strain there too. Not just with him...but with their older brother.
He recalled how Jordan mentioned how Y/N wasn't related to them and why he'd even call Lois mom. That stung Clark more than Jordan saying he was a bad father. He didn't want Y/N to feel that his time growing up with his brothers was meaningless.
"Your life falling apart doesn't mean your special." Lois finally spoke. "It means your human."
Clark nodded. Before he could respond, he heard the chirping in his ears and honed in on the faraway sound.
"Another breach in progress."
Clark shook his head and sighed. He looked out ahead at the field. He knew the situation was likely involving the suspect that called him out the day before.
"It's another nuclear facility." He told her.
"Hey. We're gonna be all right. Okay?"
Clark nodded.
"Go." Lois added.
He weakly smirked and then walked off. Moments later, he leaped up with a sonic boom and flew away.
Lois stood there for a second, thinking of the events from earlier. She wanted to give the boys time to process what they've learned, so she was going to give them space for the time being.
Y/N still had not come back. Although her motherly instincts made her worried, she had trust in her eldest son and believed he was okay. She'd just have to wait for him to come back, just like she had to wait for Clark.
So there she stood, waiting for the both of them. That is what she was anxious about, having to endure a moment where she waited and hoped that the Supermen in her life would come back all right. She thought back at what her father said. That was the life she was in and it shouldn't have been a surprise.
Lois let out a breath through her nose and looked out again toward the field, the direction her husband flew off, before turning around and going back to the house.
