｡･:*:･ﾟ★,‧͙⁺˚*･༓☾  ELENA wakes up. Her pillow is covered with blood. Damon is sleeping next to her in bed. She gets up and tries to leave the room, but Damon wakes up too and stops her from leaving. 

"Good Morning." Damon greets her. 

"Please... Don't!" She pleads to Damon. 

"Don't do that. Ah, ah, ah, ah." 

Elena hits Damon with a lamp. 

"No! No! No! Get away from me! No!" Elena throws the pillow covered in blood at Damon. 

"This could have in a completely different way." Damon smells the pillow, his face begins to change. He attacks Elena again.

"Caroline, I am not saying don't date the guy. I am saying take it slow." 

"Bonnie, first of all, I am not dating Stefan, we are just friends." 

"I know you are friends but at some point, you are gonna date." 

"Wait, wait, wait... Bonnie, when I say we are just friends, I mean we are just friends, plus, Stefan and me dating... eww. We have that sibling bond." 

"Okay, whatever it is, I am just saying don't get too close to him." 

"Why the about-face?" 

"It's not an about-face. You know you are single, a total smoke show. It's perfect time to play the field." 

"I don't wanna get into that. And, whatever you are saying I am not understanding a bit of that." 

"It's stupid." 

"Bonnie... " 

"What?" 

"Oh god, spit it out." 

"I accidentally touched Stefan and I got a really bad feeling." 

"I know I was there when you weirded out." 

"Caroline, it was a really bad feeling." 

"Bonnie, I know you are concerned for me and I love you for it, but Stefan is nice. You don't know Bonnie, he made me believe that I am good and I don't need to compare myself to others, and I am lucky that he came into my life." 

"Caroline, you don't trust me, that guy is not good and you should not be with him." Caroline scoffs in annoyance. 

"Seriously, Bonnie? This is my life and you don't have any right to tell me what to do and what not. And I am starting to think, I should not be with you." Caroline leaves from there.

Stefan was walking behind the school, he was searching for Jeremy, the two didn't have a conversation on the day Vicki was in the hospital and then, she got abducted by his brother. He listened to two voices and recognized, they were Jeremy and Vicki. 

 I rock. I scored 2 tickets to the Posers Saturday night. They're playing at the Rat. 

" You and Tyler have fun." 

" Don't be like that. Come on. I want you to go. "

" You're not worried everyone's going to know you're screwing the stoner geek? Oh, wait... everyone already knows. " 

" Yeah. But it's not like that anymore, so now we can be friends and just hang out. " 

" Tell me something, was it the drugs? Were you sleeping with me because of the drugs? " 

" Screw you. " 

" No, if there's another reason, please, I'm all ears. " 

Stefan comes and approaches Jeremy. 

" Um... Hi, Stefan. " Jeremy said. Stefan puts a hand on his shoulder. 

" She doesn't deserve you, mate. The earlier you realize this, the better for you. " Stefan said, leaving Jeremy in a dilemma. 

" Is he right? Is she using me? No, the summer, meant something. It's that dickhead who is manipulating her. But what if he is right... " Jeremy was thinking inside his mind. He was stuck in the war of thoughts going in his head. 

" Um, I have to leave. I will see you later. " Saying that he rushed off from there. 

" Jeremy... " Stefan tried to stop him but the dark brown-haired boy but he already left. He sighed and started walking towards the backside of the school, where most likely he would Caroline. He spotted the blonde but noticed the annoyance on her face. It seemed like she was in an argument. 

" Caroline... " Stefan called her name to grab her attention. Caroline heard someone calling her name and noticed it was Stefan. She walked towards the younger Salvatore brother. 

" What does Bonnie think of herself, huh? " Caroline was fuming in anger. Stefan places his hands on her shoulder, trying to calm her down. 

" Calm down, Caroline. " Caroline calms her anger a little. " Now, tell me what happened? " 

" Bonnie... she told me to stay away from you because of the bad feeling she had. I first handled it calmly knowing that it was because of her witchy thing but then, she started telling me what I should do and what not. And that is what got me angry. " Caroline explains Stefan. 

" You know what to do, Caroline, don't let anyone else decide for you. " Stefan says to her and she nods.  

Tyler and Matt were watching them. 

" Look... there's Caroline and her new boyfriend. Now, what are they doing?" Tyler says. "Oh, they're walking, walking, walking. Yep. Right into the sunset." 

" You're a dick. " 

" While you just stand there looking like one of those little yard trolls. First, it is your ex-girlfriends' best friend, who says next can not be your ex. "  

" Gnomes. " Matt says. 

" So, Stefan, I was thinking maybe, you can come over to my house this evening, we can have fun. " Caroline tells Stefan. 

" Hmm. Sounds good. " Stefan says while nodding his head. 

" Perfect. You know I have all these plans in my head and we are going to do so many things. " She said in excitement. 

" You sure your mom is cool to have me at your house? " Stefan asked the blonde. 

" She won't have any problem and besides we are friends. " 

"Well, then, it's great. " 

" Tyler, they are having fun, let them have it. " Matt tells Tyler. 

" First, he ruins your life and you are saying you want to let his fun?  He should know who he messed with. " Tyler says and Stefan who was hearing all this shook his head. 

Tyler throws the ball at Stefan, who has his back towards him. He quickly turns around, catches the ball, and throws it back to Tyler. Tyler and Matt are shocked. Caroline laughs. 

Stefan and Caroline were walking inside the school. Caroline had an amused look on his face. 

" That throw was insane. And that display of V powers was fabulous. " Caroline tells Stefan. 

" It wasn't all V powers, I used to play football. " Stefan says making Caroline's go wide. 

" You played football? " Caroline asked him. 

" I used to. It was a long time ago. " 

" Why don't you try to out for the team? " She asked Stefan. 

" I don't think it's the best option. " Stefan says with a sigh. 

" Why not? You love football, football loves you, then, what's the problem? " 

" You are right about the love part but the problem is Douchebag, we can forget Tyler and Matt for a moment but him, we can't. There is no way in hell he will let me join the team. " Stefan tries to explain to Caroline. 

Caroline palms her head. " I don't know I was dreaming about a word called compulsion. " She says mockingly. 

" How did I forget that? " Stefan was shocked how did he forget such a silly thing. 

" Because your brain is being rusty. Looks like old age is finally catching upon you, Steffie. " Caroline mocked Stefan and he just simply rolled his eyes. 

" Mock all you want Care but my time will also come. " Stefan said dramatically. 

" We will see. " Caroline tries to say in the same tone but fails and both of them start laughing and walk inside the class.

The class was as usual boring and annoying but it became less annoying for Stefan as Caroline was also there. The blonde also decided to have history classes, not because she likes history, in reality, she hates it because she wanted to spend more time with her new vampire best friend. Stefan was also having fun because he wasn't the only one enduring this torture, Caroline was sharing it with him. 

" World War II ended in... Has anyone got anything? Miss Juan? 1945. " Tanner was teaching the class as usual. 

" You know it would be fun, I am the captain of the cheerleading team and you will be the best player on our football team. Everyone will cheer for the blonde best friends. " Caroline says. 

" But we don't have the same hair color, you are blonde and I have dirty blonde hairs. " Stefan tells her. 

" Both of them are shades of blonde. " Caroline retorts. 

" Pear Harbour. " Tanner asks. 

" Fine, Caroline. " Stefan surrenders. 

" Miss Forbes? " Tanner asks. 

" Hmm? " 

" Pearl Harbour? " 

" Umm... " 

Seeing his best friend was stuck Stefan decided to help her out. " December 7, 1941. " 

" Thank you, Miss Forbes. " 

" Anytime. " Stefan answered in the same tone. 

" Very well. The fall of the Berlin walls. " Tanner asks. 

" 1989. I am good with dates, sir. " Stefan said. He knew this would be the start of the date war between them and he was ready to do it again, it was fun. 

" Are you? How good? Keep it to the year. Civil Rights Act. " 

" 1964. "

" Lincoln. "

" 1950 to 1953 " Tanner's face had a huge grin thinking he won. 

" Ha! It ended in '52. " 

" Uh, actually, sir, it was '53. " 

" Look it up, somebody. Quickly. " 

" It was 19... 53. " The whole class was in shock, Caroline was smiling and had a proud look on his face while Stefan just smirked.

Caroline and Stefan were walking in the hallway talking about the recent happenings. 

" Oh god, that was fire! You know Tanner's face is the highlight of my day. " Caroline was squealing. " But how did you remember all these? " Caroline asked. 

" Living all those things makes them kind of permanent in my mind, one of the reasons I don't forget them. " Stefan answered. 

Stefan went towards the field. He is sitting in the bleachers, watching the football team practice. The cheerleaders are on the other side of the field warming up. Caroline shows up. She sees Bonnie and her mood again becomes foul. Bonnie approached Caroline with a guilty look on her face. 

" Hey, Caroline. " She greets her in a very apologetic tone. 

" What Bonnie? " Caroline asked rudely. 

" I am sorry, I shouldn't have said all that. " She apologized. 

" Finally, you got your senses back. " Caroline said this and turns around. 

" Caroline, I am sorry, you are correct I have no right to say in your life. I don't know what happened to me, this is all just that weird witchy mojo and all that. I am so sorry. " She apologized again. 

Caroline thought her apology sounded genuine and sighed. " Fine, this is the first and the last time I am forgiving you, do this again and you will lose me as your best friend forever. " Bonnie's lips broke into a smile hearing the blonde's word. 

" Thank you, Caroline. " The olive green-eyed girl hugged the blue-eyed. " Have you seen Elena? I texted her like a hundred times. " As the raven spoke these words, blonde's smile flattened. 

" And again with the Elena word. She doesn't need to answer your texts every time, she would have been busy somewhere. " Caroline said and Bonnie nodded.

Stefan went to talk to Tanner the Douchebag, about joining the school football team, he knew he wasn't going to use all that sweet talk he did before, he would simply compel him this time. Stefan made sure that no one was listening to their convo. 

" Varsity trials were last spring, Mr. Salvatore. " Tanner said in his usual annoying voice. 

" Who cares bitch! " Stefan wanted to say this but refrained himself from doing so. " I wasn't there then, sir. " 

" And you are not here now, as far as I am concerned. " Tanner said as he said last time in the past. 

" I am done playing nice. " Stefan said in an annoyed tone. He bent a little further and looked into Tanner's eyes. " You are going to give me a place in the football team without any questions. Do you understand? " He was compelling Tanner. 

" I understand. " Tanner said in a monotone voice. 

" Great, and piece of advice, stop being a jerk all the time. " Stefan and Tanner returned where all the boys were standing. 

" Borrow some gear. Let's run it again. " Tanner said. 

" Wow, now he is in the team also. " Matt said. 

" Dude, this is an opportunity. Football's a contact sport. Sometimes people get hurt. Whoo! Haha! " Tyler said.

" I know you told me not to worry but seriously, where is Elena? She told me she would join us for the cheerleading practice. " Bonnie tells Caroline. 

" Who knows, maybe, she changed her mind. Besides, I am starting cheerleading practice. We have been waiting for her for ten minutes, we can not wait for anymore. " Caroline tells Bonnie. 

" I don't know, I will try her again. " 

Elena arrives in Damon's car and she kisses him. Caroline rolls her eyes. 

" Oh, my god. That must be the mystery guy from the grill. " Bonnie says. 

" That's not a mystery guy. That's Damon Salvatore. " Caroline tells Bonnie remembering that this was Stefan's brother. Stefan once showed her his picture. 

" Salvatore, as in Stefan?! " Bonnie asks in shock. 

" I got the other brother. Hope you don't mind. Sorry, I am late, girls, I, uh, was busy. " Elena says and stands at her place. 

" All right, let's start with the double pike her key hurdler, what do you say? And 5, 6, 7, 8. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Elena, sweetie, why don't you just observe today? Ok? Keep going! Ok. Do it again from the top. And 5, 6, 7, 8. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. "

" Blue 80! Blue 80! Set, hut! Go! Come on, Tyler, cover it! Let's do it. " 

" Get it. " 

" Line up! " 

Stefan keeps doing a great job on the football field. 

" I hate to say it, but he has got skills. " 

" I think he needs a buddy pass. " 

" Really? " 

" You don't get to walk on the field and act like you own the place after 5 minutes. Just hang one up there and I'll take care of the rest. " 

Stefan was listening in to their conversation and smirks a little. 

" Do it again. " 

" All right, let's huddle up, set hut! " 

Tyler throws the ball and tries to hit Stefan hard with it but misses, making all of them go in shock. 

" Oh! You missed, mate! You know I am well aware of all those 'welcome to the team, buddy' things. And I also know some jackasses who think they are smart ass. " Stefan said mocking Tyler who was very offended.

The school ended and Stefan went back to the Salvatore Boarding House. He enters his bedroom, he sees Damon is there, reading his diary. " How were tryouts? Did you make the team? Very Emerson, the way you reveal your soul with so many...adjectives. " Damon makes fun of Stefan in a way. Stefan rips the diary out of his hands
" You know, Damon, it's very rude to barge in someone's room and then, touch their things. " Stefan says. " And I won't ask what are you doing here because you never answer and I am getting tired of asking the same bloody question. " " I've come to apologize. I've been doing some thinking, some soul searching, and...I want us to start over. We need to put the past behind us. You're my little brother, and if you want to live a normal, happy human life, then I want that for you. Maybe I can do it, too. That I can learn to be a non-living living person. Maybe there's hope for both of us. " Damon says adding so many emotions. Stefan remembers the last time Damon said this thing he fell for it. This time, when the same thing was happening, he tries to keep a straight face but fails to do so making Damon shocked. " I am sorry, I tried not to laugh. You know I appreciate all those emotions in the speech and I applaud your acting skills but it has become so obvious that even a child won't fall for it. " Stefan says not realizing he just insulted his past self. Damon was looking at his brother in surprise and shock, not believing that this was his brother. But he quickly masked his confusion and put on his usual smirking face. " Great, you know. I don't have to do that sentimental thing again. I saw Caroline today, BTW. That means 'by the way.' She was at cheerleading practice. She looked so perky in her little short shorts. Just...simmer down, I didn't even go near her. I've got my cheerleader now. Ooh, that reminds me...I gotta run. I have a date. Sweaty palms. Wish me luck. " Damon said making Stefan try to guess who is Damon's new play thing because Caroline isn't. Damon starts to leave but Stefan stops him. " Damon, wait! FYI, that means 'for your information', next time you barge into my room and touch my things, you are gonna need a hand to walk. " Stefan said in the same mocking manner.

Stefan went to Caroline's house and they cooked some food and were watching Disney movies, they also put face masks on were doing nail pedicure. Everything was good until, Elena barge in the Forbes residence and invited Stefan and Caroline to the dinner at the Gilbert Residence as a thank you dinner for that whole Jenna and Tanner thing. Stefan and Caroline refused at first but when Jenna requested them to come for the dinner, they had to agree. 

Stefan and Caroline reached the Gilbert Residence and got to know Jenna won't be there because of some work, instead Bonnie will give them company. 

" Did Tanner give you a hard time today? " Elena asked. " He wish but he let me on the team, maybe, he must have gotten his senses back. " Stefan said. " Bonnie, Caroline, you should have seen Stefan today. Tyler threw a ball right at him, and... " Elena said but Caroline cut her in between. " I heard, I am pretty sure Bonnie also did. " Caroline said, getting annoyed of this whole Elena praising Stefan thing in front of Bonnie and making her feel like the third wheel, no, fourth wheel in this case. " Yes, I did too. " " Why don't you tell Stefan about your family? " Elena asks Bonnie. 
" Um, divorced. No mom. Live with my dad. " Bonnie answered. " No, about the witches. Bonnie's family has a lineage of witches. It's really cool. " Elena says. Caroline saw Bonnie was a little uncomfortable to talk about this so, she put her hand on her hand to comfort the raven haired. " Cool isn't the word I'd use. " Bonnie says. 
" Well, it's certainly interesting. I'm not too versed, but I do know that there's a history of Celtic druids that migrated here in the 1800s. " Stefan tells Bonnie. " My family came by way of Salem. " Bonnie tells Stefan. " Really? Salem witches? " Stefan asks in fake surprise. " Yeah. " " I would say that's pretty cool. " " Really? Why? " Bonnie asks him. " Salem witches are heroic examples of individualism and nonconformity. " Stefan tells her, he always admired Bennet witches, in spite of their judgemental thinking. " Yeah, they are. "

The doorbell rings again. Stefan knew Damon arrived to make the dinner more perfect, than it already was. 

" I could already guess who that is. " Caroline mumbled under his breathe knowing it would be a certain raven haired vamp ringing the door bell at this time. Elena opens the door. Damon is outside. Elena kisses him on the cheek. " Surprise! Elena said you were doing dinner, so I brought dessert. Hope you don't mind. " Damon says. " What are you doing there? Come inside. " Elena says and Damon enters the house. " You know, I still cannot believe that Mr. Tanner let you on the team. Tyler was seething. But good for you. Go for it. " Elena says. " That's what I always tell him. You have to engage. You can't just sit there and wait for life to come to you. You have to go get it. " Damon says. " Can say the same thing about Elena, I thing cheerleading isn't for you. " Caroline said. " I agree with her, you know, you don't seem like the cheerleader type, Elena. " Damon says. " It's because her parents died, otherwise she was more fun. " Bonnie said. " I'm sorry, Elena. I know what it's like to lose both your parents. In fact, Stefan and I have watched almost every single person we've ever cared about die. " Damon says. " We don't need to get into that right now, Damon. We were having fun and then, you came and started talking about all these depressing things. " Stefan says. " Oh, you know what, you're right, Stef. I'm sorry. The last thing I wanted to do was bring her up. Mmm. " Damon said intentionally. Damon and Caroline were in the kitchen.  " One more. "
" Oh, thank you. " Damon hands Caroline a glass, but drops it and quickly catches it. 
" Nice save. " Caroline says knowing all of this was vamp powers. " I like you. You know how to laugh. And you make Stefan smile, which is something I haven't seen in a very long time. " Damon says. " Mm. Hmm. " " How did she die? " " In a fire. Tragic fire. " " Recently? " " It seems like yesterday. " " What was she like? " " She was beautiful. A lot like Elena in that department. She was also very complicated and selfish and at times not very kind, but very sexy and seductive. " " So which one of you dated her first? " " Nicely deduced. Ask Stefan. I'm sure his answer differs from mine. I'd quit cheerleading if I were you. " " I'm sorry. About Katherine. You lost her, too. " " Hey, need some help? " " Sure, why not? " Stefan and Elena were talking in the living room. Stefan was getting annoyed like hell but then, he tries to change the topic bringing her scarf up. " That's a really nice scarf. " Stefan complimented. " Mm. Thank you, it's new. " Elena says. " Can I see it? I mean, would you mind taking it off? " Stefan said knowing what was behind this scarf. " Oh, I can't. " " Why not? You ok? " Stefan asked. " Um...All I know is that I can't take it off. " 
" What are you two kids talking about? " " Well, you won't understand the kid's talk, so, don't bother. " Stefan said making Damon glare at him. " Hmm. Hey, you know, um, Caroline and Bonnie are finishing up the dishes. Why don't you go see if you can help? " " I don't feel like doing the dishes. " Elena says. " For me? " " Hmm... I don't think so. " " Go see if Caroline needs help in the kitchen. " Damon compels her. " You know what? I'm gonna go see if Caroline needs some help in the kitchen. " Elena says. " Great. " Caroline leaves. " You know Damon, I am okay with all your snatch eat and erase thing but I am not cool with you forcing her into this when she does not even knows what she is doing. " " I don't remember, when I asked for your opinion. Besides, I don't care what you think I am a monster and that's what monsters do. "

It was night and finally time for the football game. People are tailgating and cheering for the team. 

" Wait, wait, wait, Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Wait. Let's be honest here. In the past, we used to let other teams come into our town and roll right over us! (Boos from the crowd.) But that is about to change. (Cheering.) We've got some great new talent tonight starting on the offense, and I'm gonna tell you right now, it has been a long time since I have seen a kid like this with hands like these. Let's give it up for Stefan Salvatore! " Tanner says. 

" This blows. He can't start the guy. He just got here. " Tyler said. 

" That have been waiting for us to put a check in the win column, I have only one thing to say to you...Your Timberwolves are hungry. " 

Tyler walks up to Vicki.

" Hey, babe. What's wrong? " 

" Nothing. " 

" And the central high lions are what's for dinner! " 

"  Is that Jeremy? " 

" Wait, no! Ty! No. Leave him alone. " 

" Oh, what do you care? Don't look so down. You can have her when I'm done. " 

Jeremy strikes him. The two boys begin to fight. Stefan was hearing all this and came to the scene. 

" Tyler, stop it! Tyler! Tyler, stop! Stop it! Stop, you're hurting him! Tyler! Tyler, stop! Tyler! Stop it! Tyler, stop! " 

Stefan grabs Tyler's wrist.

" Hey, he's down! Enough! " 

Tyler punches Stefan, but sees that it has no effect on Stefan. He looks scared. Jeremy grabs a broken glass bottle and strikes at Tyler, who moves out of the way and he cuts Stefan's hand instead. 

 " I am sorry man. " 

" It's okay, I am fine. " 

" Tyler, knock it off! Stop! " 

" You are bleeding Jeremy. " 

" Doesn't matters, I am fine. " 

" Come on, man. Come on. " 

" Just let me see your hand. " Stefan closes his palm and puts his hand behind his back.

" No, no, no, it's fine. " 

" Okay, I am really sorry again. " 

" It's okay, mate. It happens. " 

" You gonna be able to play? " 

" Oh, yeah, I am good. " 

" Uh, what you did back there...you had Jeremy's back. " 

" Friends always have each other's back. " 

" I know. This week at practice I was a dick. " 

" Doesn't matter, you realised now. " 

" No excuse. " Matt holds out his hand, Stefan shakes it. " Good luck tonight. We're lucky to have you. " 

Damon is in the corner. He claps for Stefan. 

" Isn't that nice? Stefan joins a team, makes a friend. It's all so, 'rah, rah, go team, yeah!' " 

" Oh god, I already had enough of drama, not in the mood to get more. " 

" Nice trick with Caroline. Let me guess...vervain in the necklace? I admit, I was a bit surprised. It's been a while since anyone could resist my compulsion. Where'd you get it? " 

" Now, where is the fun in telling you straight away. " 

" You know I like the new you but it annoys me sometimes. Guess I could just seduce her the old-fashioned way. Or I could just...eat her. " 

" No, you are not gonna hurt her Damon. " 

" No? "

Damon kills Tanner.

The police arrived. Bonnie looks at the scene. She looks at the license plate "BLDG 8", the immatriculation's car is "FHT 14" and on the ground, the number 22. Bonnie is afraid.

" So, Tanner is finally dead. " Caroline said. 

" Good riddance. I would have literally killed him, if he would have done something else Tanner like, which he would have done. " 

" So, much drama for a day. I guess I have to thank you for the vervain, Damon tried to hit on me, assuming I am dating you. " 

" Well, the whole school assumes that. And Damon wants to get under my skin. " 

" Right, the sibling rivalry. It's late I am gonna go back. " 

" Good night, Caroline. "

Sorry for such a sucking chapter. I was having a foul mood but we have to work with this. I am asking for your opinions, all the ideas are welcomed, for now only give some suggestions for season 1.
