You fucking, ugly-ass, shrimp-looking fucking coward. You should just jump off a fucking cliff. How could you embarrass yourself like that, stupid-ass—

Shoving her head into her pillow, Satomi begins screaming very loud and clear.

It makes her inside voices stop.

"Fucking hell..." She spins around in her bed, looking up to the ceiling until she covers her face with her hands due to the immense embarrassment she's feeling.

Suddenly, a ding of her phone cuts her off and gain the girl's attention.

With her chin on her palm, Satomi gazes out of the window. Heavy sighs leave her every now and then. Her mind is completely occupied.

And Suna also notices how flushed her face is.

Satomi is actually the one who always forces Suna and the rest of the second-years to study with her because of their low grades. They're always complaining about her commands, but know to oblige, nonetheless.

Sometimes, they do fall asleep or slack off in general, but she's swift to give them a nice hit on the head.

But now it seems like Satomi is the one who doesn't have her head at the right space.

She seems completely absentminded. Completely unlike herself; the reputation she upholds, more likely.

Yet Suna knows that, even if something was wrong, she wouldn't tell him. It's just something about her stubbornness and refusal to admit to having feelings that makes her unable to do so.

So, Suna has come up with another plan.

"Sato," he calls out while not looking up from his notebook, continuing to scribble something down. Her name has to be called out a few more times before she can get pulled out of her own universe. "My mother texted me and said that you should go down for a second. Something about you forgetting your jacket the last time you were here or something along those lines."

"Oh, okay." Still with an absent mind, she nods quietly. Satomi stands up and leaves the room.

Using the short yet spare time he has, he's quick to snatch the phone she had so unfortunately forgotten there. Suna knows that she'd get mad about it instantly. Invading her privacy isn't something she's fond of. Well, that is only if she catches him.

Though Suna doesn't go to her private messages or notes. He's simply scrolling through her instagram; assuming that a post about a simple guitarist has maybe distorted her mind like that—since she's known for having a weaknesses for two types of men.

But, suddenly, there is a message appearing with a ding.

He didn't mean to, he really didn't, but his eyes immediately went to the message. Suna's eyebrows furrow.

BESITOS
tomi did you listen to the song floral & fading by pierce the veil?

"Who the hell is Tomi?" He mutters out loud.

"Suna Rintaro..."

Said boy's eyes widen. He stills.

There Satomi stands in the doorway. And it's not a pleasant sight. Slowly and very carefully, Suna turns around, his eyes still widened.

Suna would describe Satomi as a furious demon in this very moment.

Satomi breathes heavily, hands formed into white-knuckled fists, as burning, red fire plays in her eyes.

"What are you doing with my phone?" She, still dangerously calm, asks him.

Suna isn't afraid of many things, but an angered Satomi will even make the most emotionless man twitch in their sleep if they suddenly saw her in front of them.

"I was just checking your socials... The usual."

Suna blinks, trying to maintain his cool persona. But her demon-like glare throws him completely off guard anytime he glances at her again.

"Then why did you lie to me and said that your mother was calling me?" Her words are prolonged and serene, yet he knows that it's simply the calm before the storm. "Your mother went to work an hour and twenty-two minutes ago. Did you seriously think that I would fall for something so plain? Are you calling me stupid?"

She takes a step toward him. Suna's eyes widen at that again.

"You can't kill me. There is evidence everywhere. You don't even have an alibi to protect yourself," he states with a monotonous voice, shaking his head swiftly. "And the Miya twins are coming soon. You can't do anything. You can't kill me."

Only Satomi is able to open the door of uncool-ness that he so severely locks. And she knows it. He despises it.

"Who said that I'd kill you off immediately?" Satomi slowly tilts her head to the side, intense eyes staring right into his soul as she takes more steps toward him. "I could just make you suffer, one by one. Killing is useless, suffering is what matters in the end."

Suna gulps, still trying to hold his usual demeanor up.

At this point, he's simply waiting for her to lose her deranged calmness; preferring her wrathful and impulsive outbursts.

"Why did you go through my messages?" She asks the main question in another form, once again.

"I wanted to know if Atsumu and you were in a relatuonship." He begins to lie, and her eyes narrow; to which he flinches internally. "You know... because your brother revealed that you have a crush on him and all."

That's the last straw.

Satomi's well-trained apathy exits her system. Red. She only sees red.

"I..." Her breathing is getting heavier, head falling to the ground. Suna gulps again. "Do not... under any circumstances..."

"I don't even..." She restarts her sentence, still trying her very best to uphold that perfected reputation. "On someone like him..."

"Satomi, it's okay, I understand. Not everyone has phenomenal taste like me—"

"YOU FUCKING BITCH, HOW COULD YOU THINK THAT LOW OF ME—?"

Satomi moves to jump Suna. His eyes rip out of their sockets, expecting pain very soon.

But he doesn't feel an impact. Any pain, to be exact. That's weird, he thinks to himself, frowning. Did Sato suddenly forget how to fight?

"LET GO OFF ME, ATSUMU. I NEED TO TEACH THIS GODDAMN IMBECILE ANOTHER LESSON THAT'S NOT PART OF SCHOOL—"

"What the hell is goin' on?!" Atsumu asks frantically, barely holding an insane Satomi in his arms.

Osamu is standing beside them. Even he is shocked; eyebrows jumping into the air—just like Satomi did before Atsumu caught her.

"Sato has a boyfriend," Suna states flatly, his usual demeanor back on its spot

His fear has evaporated, now that two witnesses are present.

"Y-You—" Atsumu's eyes widen, hurt and betrayal evident in his eyes. "You can't just have a boyfriend!"

He releases his hold on Satomi out of pure perplexity. She, completely ignoring him, runs up to Suna again.

This time, though, Osamu is the one to hold her up. He huffs as she kicks her legs frantically, also barely able to lock her up in his arms. "Damn, girl, did you gain weight?!"

"Shut up, Osamu. I swear to God, I can take all three of you in one go—" She wriggles in his hold. "And it's you first, Rintaro! Always acting so careless and being provocative when you can't do shit once it's time to fight! You're gonna receive your karma, and it's gotta be from me!"

"What do you mean Sato has a boyfriend?!" Atsumu is caught up in a completely different topic, mouth on the floor. "She can't have a boyfriend!"

"Shut up, 'Tsumu!" Osamu calls out in a mere breath; all of his energy and strength going out to keep Satomi in her place.

Yet the girl doesn't stop. "How are you so damn strong?!" Osamu complains loudly.

Meanwhile, Suna pulls his phone out to record the disaster. "Tell us the truth or I'll send this video to the entire school, Sato."

Everyone's eyes widen, and the room falls silent.

"Wrong move, man..." Atsumu mutters out.

Even Satomi has lost her will to fight. Her mouth slacks open. "You wouldn't..." she breathes out, glints of irritation building up again after the shock.

Satomi has built most of her time in Inarizaki High School for a perfected reputation. Her school time there started out in a rocky way, but she has managed to adapt and change herself perfectly in the eyes of others.

Becoming the Student Council President, the manager and sports medic of Inarizaki's volleyball team—who have made a very special exception for her acceptance as those two positions—was not easy. It was goddamn hard.

Her reputation being ruined is one—if not her biggest—fear.

No one even really knows Satomi's real personality anymore. It's all hidden by that perfected facade.

There are only four people who know her as herself. They don't see her as Hisakawa; The perfect Student Council President. No. They see her as Sato, the hotheaded and impatient yet enthusiastic and empathetic friend.

Yet three out of those four people like to abuse that power they have over her sometimes.

"Calm down, Sawa," Osamu tells her quietly, the girl still tightly secured in his strong arms. His voice does calm her down a little. It always does. "He's just messing with you. Don't let it get to your head."

"I'm not." Suna's grinning now, playing with the phone in his fingers while keeping his low-lidded eyes on Satomi, who's staring right back at him. "C'mon, do you guys not want to see Sato beat up other kids again?"

His statement was in a joking manner, but none of them are laughing.

"You piece of shit," Satomi finally speaks up, gaining everyone's attention. She softly pushes Osamu away to free herself. "I don't need to tell you anything. If I have a boyfriend or not, it's none of your business either way."

Atsumu's been more jumpy since he had arrived, and as he wants to speak up, Satomi holds her finger up and glances at him from the side of her eye. "But I, for a fact, do not have a boyfriend." He sighs in relief immediately; grateful that she was, yet again, successful in reading his telepathic question.

"You shouldn't have invaded my privacy and looked through my phone like that, and you know that," she says in a slow voice, sharing intense eye contact. "If you were to ask me, I would've told you. Communication isn't that hard if you actually fucking try it."

"This was all a joke at first, I know, but you took it too far." Satomi shakes her head in pure disappointment, a splinter of hurt in her eyes, which she covers instantly.

Packing up her bags, she leaves. "Learn respecting me before talking to me again."

FUN-FACT: Satomi's current concern is that she's afraid that people will forget her name because they keep calling her Miss Student Council President.

Because 砂糖 [ sato ] means sugar in Japanese—and the nickname was created from her friends and family as a result of her personality, they started calling her that. The Inarizaki boys did it more for teasing her, though. Still, they think it's a sweet nickname.

Meanwhile, サワー [ sawa ] means "sour" in Japanese. Osamu is the only one who calls her that. It's like an antithesis or a general contrast to symbolize the two different personalities she presents—her perfected reputation and her actual self.

funny because "sour" in german means
"sauer," which does mean sour but also angry.
i think it fits sato so well lmao

(i know that sawa is a drink, leave me
alone for the sake of this book😠😔)

The psychology of Satomi will be explained at the very end of the book. Little hints will be dropped by every chapter, though.

ALSO !
please have in mind that the friendships
are much more complex than they are shown
right now. throughout the chapters, you will
see the true and pure bond between every
single character and satomi.

the way everything is written right now (satomi, other characters, etc.) is on complete purpose

i literally love atsumu and the way
i present him right now is on purpose. all is
shown on the surface of things. please be patient.

he's not just an "annoying" person, he's much
more than that, and i hope to show it well in
the later chapters. his friendship with satomi is
my personal favorite from this entire book.

in the beginning, satomi exaggerated her
anger for fun! the entire thing wasn't actually
that serious to her, until suna said that he'd
publish the video in the internet.
