Chapter 49

The ship shuddered to a halt as it descended, the harsh hum of the engines cutting off as they powered down. The oppressive tension that had hung in the air for so long seemed to lift for a moment, though it was replaced with a new sense of uncertainty.

You and Obi-Wan exchanged a glance. He was still slumped in the chair, his hands bound, but there was a certain quiet resolve in his eyes. Despite the pain, despite the brutality, neither of you had broken. And now, as the ship finally settled, you could feel a shift, like something was coming to an end.

The doors to the ship opened with a metallic hiss, and you could hear the voices of Maul and Savage approaching. They appeared, seemingly unbothered by your presence any longer, as if their initial interest in breaking you had waned. Their faces, once filled with malice, now carried a tired, almost dismissive air. It was clear they had grown weary of the game.

Maul crossed his arms, his dark red eyes glinting with cold detachment as he regarded you both. "You are fortunate, Nyx," he sneered. "It seems we've grown bored of your resistance." His lips curled into a sharp smile, but it lacked the same venom it had once held. "You're no fun anymore."

Savage, standing beside him, merely nodded. "We've no more interest in you," he grunted. "You've proven to be more trouble than you're worth."

And just like that, they were done. No more taunts, no more threats. You felt the weight of their presence lift, the quiet shift marking the end of their twisted game.

Obi-Wan's eyes narrowed slightly, but his calm demeanor remained unchanged. "You underestimate us, Maul," he said, his voice firm despite the obvious pain. "You may have grown tired of us, but it won't be long before you realize the mistake you've made."

The words hung in the air for a moment before the guards finally approached, unlocking your cages. The chains and muzzle were removed, and though your body still ached, the sense of freedom that washed over you was almost overwhelming. The world seemed clearer, the heavy weight of captivity lifting as you took a breath, your claws flexing instinctively.

Obi-Wan was freed next, his movements stiff but steady as the restraints were undone. His gaze met yours again, and the silent understanding passed between you once more. They may have grown bored of you, but you hadn't given up. And neither had Obi-Wan.

Together, you would survive whatever came next.

SCENEBREAK

The journey back to Coruscant felt like a blur, the ship you and Obi-Wan commandeered streaking through the stars at breakneck speed. The hum of the engines was a comforting constant as you both silently navigated the ship, your bodies still aching from the ordeal but driven by the knowledge that you were finally heading home. The weight of your captivity, the pain, the fear—it began to dissipate with every passing moment, though the scars would remain, both physical and emotional.

As the ship approached the familiar skyline of Coruscant, a sense of relief washed over you. The towering spires of the city-planet came into view, and with them, a sense of safety that you hadn't felt in a long while. You exchanged a quiet look with Obi-Wan, a wordless acknowledgment of everything you had endured together. Even now, there was a bond that couldn't be broken.

The ship landed in a hangar, and before you even had a chance to exit, the familiar figure of Anakin Skywalker was there, waiting. His eyes locked onto you, a flash of relief crossing his features before it was quickly replaced with concern. Ahsoka Tano stood beside him, her usual calm demeanor replaced by an undeniable worry as her gaze flickered between you and Obi-Wan.

Ahsoka, always the emotional one, didn't wait for any formalities. She rushed to you, her arms thrown wide as she enveloped you in a tight hug. Her grip was strong, almost desperate, as if she couldn't believe you were really there, safe. Her small frame trembled slightly as she clung to you, her voice breaking as she spoke, "I was so worried... so worried about you, Nyx. I thought... I thought I lost you."

You couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt at the sight of her, so relieved yet so clearly shaken by what had happened. You returned the hug with as much strength as you could muster, your claws gentle as you wrapped them around her. "I'm here, Ahsoka. I'm here." Your voice was quiet but firm, offering her the reassurance you both needed.

Obi-Wan, though still weary from the ordeal, stepped forward, his presence as steady as ever. "We're home now," he said, his voice calm but tinged with the exhaustion of their shared ordeal. "We'll all heal."

Anakin watched you, his usually stoic demeanor softened by the relief of seeing you and Obi-Wan return. There was a flicker of something—concern, maybe, or even a quiet understanding—in his eyes. He stepped forward and placed a hand on your shoulder, his touch firm but comforting.

"You two went through hell," he said, his voice laced with sincerity. "I'm glad you're both back."

You nodded, feeling the weight of everything you'd been through but also the warmth of being surrounded by the people who cared for you. The pain was still there, the wounds fresh, but you knew this was where you belonged. With them. You weren't alone anymore.

Ahsoka pulled back slightly, wiping her eyes with the back of her hand, her expression a mix of relief and concern. "Do you need anything? Anything at all?"

You smiled softly, trying to offer some comfort despite the exhaustion that weighed on you. "Just time," you murmured. "Time to heal."

And as the group gathered around, you felt a sense of homecoming that you hadn't experienced in what felt like forever. Whatever lay ahead, you knew you wouldn't face it alone. With Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, Anakin, and the rest of the Jedi by your side, you were ready for whatever the future held.
