Chapter 47
The air rushed past you as you and Obi-Wan sped through the dense foliage of the Raydonian forests. The earthy scent of wet leaves filled your nostrils, and the distant chirping of creatures was almost drowned out by the sound of your swift movement. The ground beneath you was slick with moisture, your boots making a faint squelching sound as you moved. You could feel the adrenaline coursing through your veins, every fiber of your being on high alert.
Then, a sudden shift in the atmosphere. The hairs on your neck prickled as you heard the faintest whisper of movement. Before you could react, Maul's crimson blade ignited, slicing through the air with a terrifying hum. His presence was like an electric shock, sparking fear in the pit of your stomach.
Opress charged with terrifying speed, his massive form a blur of dark movement. The crackle of energy filled the air as their attacks came at you from every direction, the metallic clash of lightsabers ringing in your ears. You fought back fiercely, your own strikes leaving deep gashes, blood splattering with each cut. The sting of their retaliatory blows sent bursts of pain up your limbs, but your resolve hardened. You gave them cuts that would leave their mark for a year.
The battle raged on, but slowly, their movements became more calculated. The air grew colder, the tension thick enough to taste. Obi-Wan was caught off-guard by Opress's sudden attack, and in that moment, Maul's blade grazed your side. A sharp pain shot through your body, leaving you breathless. You stumbled, vision blurring, but still, you didn't give up. Your hands were slick with blood, but your resolve remained as strong as ever.
However, despite your best efforts, their combined force proved too much. The sting of a stun shot struck you in the chest, the electric jolt leaving your body frozen, a violent shake running through your limbs. You collapsed to the ground, the world spinning as your consciousness ebbed away.
When you regained your senses, the cold metal of a cage pressed against your back. Your body ached, and the taste of iron lingered in your mouth, a result of the muzzle strapped tightly around your snout. You could feel the pressure of restraints on your limbs, the harshness of the metal biting into your skin. The smell of damp stone mixed with the sharp scent of fear and sweat, a reminder of how quickly everything had turned.
Obi-Wan was nowhere to be seen, but the distant sound of his muffled voice echoed faintly, and you knew they'd taken him aboard—leaving you, trapped and bound.
SCENEBREAK
It took what felt like an eternity, but soon the echo of footsteps reached your ears. The familiar presence of the two brothers approached. Maul's shadow loomed large, his red and black face twisted into a cruel smile. His eyes glinted with malice as he studied you from across the cage. Savage Opress stood beside him, his form as imposing as ever, a dark grin on his face.
"So, you are Nyx, the Indoraptor we've heard so much about," Maul's voice was smooth, yet dripping with disdain, as he crossed his arms in front of him. The words felt like a weight in the air, pressing down on you.
Your muscles twitched in response, but the restraints held you back, the muzzle making it difficult to snap back with any venom. Still, you could feel the pulse of anger in your chest, a low growl threatening to escape.
Savage's eyes narrowed as he glanced over at you, his lips curling into a savage smile of his own. "She looks strong, doesn't she, brother?" he mused, the deep rumble of his voice sending a chill through the air.
Maul nodded, his expression almost smug. "Indeed. She's been a thorn in the Separatist's side ever since she changed sides. But now..." He stepped closer to the cage, his shadow casting over you like a predator circling its prey. "Now, you're ours."
The scent of their power, their dark energy, filled the air around you. The tension between you all thickened, like a storm brewing. You could taste the bitterness of the situation—your body restrained, your mind burning with the desire to break free. But for now, you were trapped in their web, and they knew it.
Maul's eyes flicked to Obi-Wan as Savage stepped aside, and your heart skipped at the sight of the Jedi. He was bound, his arms tied tightly behind his back, but not gagged, and the concern in his wide blue eyes was unmistakable. He was still Obi-Wan—calm, composed, even in the face of captivity—but the desperation in his gaze, the way he looked at you, made something deep inside you stir.
"Let her go," Obi-Wan's voice was firm, but there was a thread of worry there, his eyes locked on you, his brow furrowed. "She's got nothing to do with this, Maul."
Savage's large hand curled around the bars of your cage, his breath heavy in the silence that followed. Maul didn't flinch, though—his dark grin widened, showing more teeth, a twisted satisfaction in his victory.
"Ah, but you see, Jedi," Maul purred, his voice laced with venom. "It's not about her anymore." His gaze shifted, fixing on you like a predator to its prey. "It's about the power she represents. The change she's brought. You should know better than to think she is untouchable."
Obi-Wan's blue eyes flicked back to you, searching, as if trying to find the right words to soothe you. His voice softened, and despite the severity of the situation, you could hear the underlying care.
"You don't need to do this, Maul. She's not your weapon."
The air around you felt heavy, as if the weight of Maul's malice was pressing on you from all sides. You knew what was coming next, the inevitability of their cruelty, but your body still burned with the instinct to fight, to protect Obi-Wan, and yourself. But, for now, the chains held, and the muzzle stifled any snarl that threatened to slip past your lips.
Savage stepped forward, eyes narrowing as he gave Obi-Wan a slow, deliberate glance. "She was never yours to protect, Jedi," he growled, his voice filled with resentment.
Maul's grip tightened on the edge of the cage, leaning in close, his breath hot against the cool air. "We'll see if she's really as strong as they say."
