Jungkook groaned as the alarm blared beside him. His hand fumbled to turn it off before he sighed, staring at the ceiling. First day of college as a married student. Great.
He turned over and immediately regretted it. Taehyung was there, sleeping peacefully, his face annoyingly perfect even in the morning light.
Jungkook rolled his eyes and sat up, pretending Taehyung didn't exist. That was his plan.
Just act like he wasn't there. Like he wasn't married to a man he barely knew. Like his life wasn't completely different now.
With that thought, he got up and walked out, ignoring the warmth that lingered on the bed beside him.
How the hell did we get here?
FLASHBACK: THE FIRST ENCOUNTER
The college courtyard was a war zone!!
Students ran in every direction-some late for class, some too energetic for the morning, and others just causing chaos meeting their friends.
Laughter, complaints, and hurried footsteps filled the air.
Jungkook, dodging a paper ball flying toward his face, sighed. Great. First day, and it's already a mess.
"Did you hear? The new professor is super strict!" Jimin, Jungkook's older brother whispered behind him.
"He's cold as hell, I swear. One look and I wanted to drop out."
Jungkook wasn't interested-until the microphone cracked up, silencing the crowd.
On the stage stood Principal Min Yoongi, his usual unimpressed expression making it clear he wanted this over with.
"Listen up. You've got a new professor. Try not to scare him away."
A pause. Then-
"Meet Professor Kim Taehyung."
Jungkook looked up just in time to see him step forward. Tall. Sharp gaze. Presence strong enough to make the whole college freeze. The chaos disappeared in seconds.
Jungkook blinked. Who the hell is this guy?
TIME SKIP: IN YOONGI'S OFFICE
Taehyung stepped into the principal's office, closing the door behind him. The chaos outside felt a little distant now.
Yoongi leaned back in his chair, arms crossed. "So? First impression?"
Taehyung sighed, taking the seat across from him. "They're loud"
Yoongi smirked. "You'll get used to it."
Taehyung didn't look convinced. "I doubt it,hyung."
Yoongi studied him for a moment, then nodded. "Alright. Just don't scare them too much, Tae."
"No promises, bro." Taehyung replied, standing up.
Yoongi shook his head with a cheeky smile. "Of course."
AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Yoongi, Taehyung, and Namjoon share a strong brotherly bond. Yoongi, as the oldest brother, is laid-back but protective of Taehyung, who's more cold and distant.
Namjoon, the kind-hearted brother who is the english proffesor, is often the one who tries to keep peace between them, even though he doesn't fully understand the path Taehyung has chosen.
Despite their differences, the three of them share a deep connection, always looking out for one another.
FIRST CLASS:
The classroom was filled with students chatting and settling into their seats as Taehyung walked in.
He stood by the door for a moment, scanning the room with a sharp gaze. The chatter faded almost instantly as the students noticed their new professor.
"Good morning." Taehyung said, his voice calm but commanding.
"Good morning, Teacher!" the class responded in unison.
He nodded and walked to the front of the class, setting his briefcase on the desk. His eyes swept over the students, catching a few glances, including one from Jungkook.
The younger man was leaning back in his chair, arms crossed, looking like he could care less about the class.
Taehyung's gaze lingered for a moment longer than usual, locking eyes with Jungkook.
The unspoken challenge was clear-Jungkook wasn't one to back down easily, and neither was Taehyung.
"I'm Professor Kim Taehyung." he began, "and you'll be stuck with me for the semester. I hope you"re ready to actually learn something."
The class chuckled, but Jungkook raised an eyebrow, his lips curling into a slight smirk. "Stuck with you, huh? Should I be worried?"
Taehyung's eyes narrowed, his expression unwavering. "If you're worried, Mr. Maybe you should start paying attention instead of cracking jokes."
Jungkook shrugged nonchalantly, not bothered in the least. "I'm sure I'll survive. It's just math, right?"
"Not just math.." Taehyung replied, his voice a bit sharper now.
"It's your future. And if you think this is going to be easy, I suggest you leave now before you waste both our time."
The rest of the class remained silent, intrigued by the exchange.
Jungkook smirked again, clearly not intimidated. "Relax, Professor. I'm just here for the grades, not a lecture."
Taehyung didn't flinch. He met Jungkook's challenge with ease.
"You might want to rethink that attitude if you actually want those grades."
With that, he turned to write something on the board, not bothering to give Jungkook another glance, but then somehow changed his mind and turned back.
"What's your name, kid?" Taehyung inquired, making Jungkook lean back at his seat and he replied, "Jungkook, Jeon Jungkook."
Taehyung's lips quirked into a small smile. "Jungkook, huh? Are you always this... relaxed, or is this just for the first day?"
Jungkook smirked back. "Maybe I'm just waiting for... You know, when you actually teach something useful."
The class chuckled lightly. He held Jungkook's gaze for a moment before continuing, pointing to another student. "What about you?"
The rest of the class continued.
By the time everyone had introduced themselves, Taehyung again turned back to the board. "Alright, now that we all know each other, let's get started."
He paused for a moment, glancing at his watch. "But I think we've run out of time for today."
Jungkook raised an eyebrow, looking at the clock. "Wait, that's it for today? No lessons?"
Taehyung's expression remained neutral. "No lessons today. Just a little introduction. But don't worry, next class, we'll get right into the real stuff."
He gave the class a sharp nod. "You're all dismissed."
Students gathered their things and filed out of the room, but Jungkook lingered behind for a moment, giving Taehyung one last look.
"Guess I'll have to actually show up next time." he said with a smirk.
Taehyung didn't respond right away, but his eyes followed Jungkook as he left.
There was a glimmer of something unreadable in Taehyung's gaze, but he quickly turned away and started to organize his notes, the challenge still hanging between them.
AFTER SCHOOL:
Apologies for the confusion earlier. Jungkook has an older brother named Jeon Jung Hyun, and there is no public information indicating he has a sister.
Here's a revised, shorter scene focusing on Jungkook and Jimin's brotherly bond, without introducing a sister:
Jeon Family Chaos:
Jungkook and Jimin entered the house together, laughing from their playful race home. Jimin threw an arm around Jungkook's shoulder.
"Beat you again, Kook." Jimin teased.
"Only because you cheated." Jungkook smirked.
Their mom called from the kitchen, "Dinner's ready!"
"Coming!" Jimin yelled back, flopping onto the couch. Jungkook joined him with a chuckle.
Their dad looked up from his newspaper. "Thought Jungkook's gonna change after college. But still the old troublemakers, huh?"
Jungkook and Jimin exchanged a knowing glance. "Wouldn't have it any other way." Jungkook replied.
The family gathered around the table, sharing stories and laughter, the usual chaos of the Jeon household.
