I went to the 6th floor, cried there. What did I do? Is this who I really am? I brought my knees to my chest and sighed. It really isn't a great day or month. Why cant I just get one day, one day to be normal?

"Everything alright in there?" Myrtle hovers over the stalls, watching me cry.

"No." I whispered. She walks through the stall and sits next to me. "I really like this boy. I wanted him to ask me to the ball. But all Draco said not to go with Cedric." I sniffed. "Then, a girl burned my dress, and slapped her in front of everyone." I heard footsteps running in. I got on top of the toilet.

"Daphne?" I heard someone call me. I didn't say a word. "Are you in here?"

"She might be a the tower." Then they left. I went back to Myrtle. I saw two feet on the other side. Then a head. It was Lisa. She knew my spot.

"What happened?" I told her everything, to Cedric to Draco and to Pansy.

"I might as well not go." I banged my head on the wall. "Why do bad things happen to me?" Myrtle stayed quiet.

"Dont say that." Lisa said as she sat next to me. I laid my head on her shoulder. "He shouldn't have said that. Pansy can shove off." It made Daphne laugh. It was cute to see Lisa trying to be mean.

Later in the night I snuck back into the dorms. I woke up the next morning early and went to my fathers. I explained that Pansy burned the dress Katherine gave me, I slapped her and I might not be going to the ball. I left out the Draco part since I dont want him to hate him any more than he already has.

"She can miss out on the ball." He suggested. I didnt say a word. "Daphne?"

"I dont care. She'll tell one of the professors that I slapped her and I wont be going. Like i care." I huffed as I tied my tie. I started laughing, confusing my father. "Sorry." I tried to stop. "It just felt so good." He shakes his head. "God i had that bottled up for years!" I grabbed my books. "Come along, we got a test to go to." My father stood up and we walked to the hall for test. I sat down. Draco sat next to me, but a few feet apart.

"Pst." I ignored him. "Pst!"

"What!" I hushed. I shot my head up at him. My father walked around, keeping an eye on us. Draco slides a bit over. He slides a case. "No." I slid it back. "Dont bribe me!" He sighs.

"Im not trying to bribe you." My father smacks him in the head.

"No talking." He waits for my father to leave.

"No. You know im not good with words. Listen." He stops as my father came back. "Im sorry for what I said. I never, in a million years, would ever hurt you. Daphne..."

"You can-" my father shoves my head into the book. I growled.

"Im sorry Daphne, really. The real intention is that I really do want to go with you."

"Is that after I told you that I wanted to go with you?" I whispered loudly. I got up, handed my test to my father and walked away. Draco wrote down some nonsense and followed her.

"Daphne wait. Please." He gently touches her arm. Daphne turns around. "It wasn't my place to say that yesterday. One chance." He hands the small box to me. "Go to the ball with me and this is a gift." My heart did its thing. My cheeks turned red. I opened the box and reviled a necklace, it had a silver chain attached with a small green rock. I looked back at him. "Please. If you dont want to go with me, fine. Ill leave you alone." I didn't want that. I didn't want him to leave me.

"Okay." I nodded. His face lit up. "Dont make me regret this."

"Good. Great." He smiles at me. "I promise you wont."

"Hey Daphne i was wondering-" one guy came up to me.

"Back off." Draco snarls. They both looked at each other, laughing.

"I'll meet you tomorrow at the foyer." I pointed at his chest. "Im warning you Draco, if you are late-"

"Ill come early if i have to." Its cute that he showing his cute side. "How would I know if you wont come?"

"I guess you gotta wait and see." I placed a kiss on his cheek, standing on my tippy toes. "Dont embarrass me." I said walking away.

"Hilarious." He watched her walk away.

"Daphne!" Lisa runs to me, jumping up and down.

"What is it?" Laughing at her.

"George Weasley just asked me to the yule ball!" We both shrieked in excitement. We held hands, jumping up and down. "We're going to have matching colors, we're going with Orange, orange tie and dress!"

"Ugh! Lisa that's amazing! Im so happy for you!" She looked at me, knowing i have news to tell.

"Say it!"

"I said yes to Draco!" We both shrieked again. Students looked at us crazy. "He gave me this!" I showed her the necklace.

"This is amazing! Its going to be so fun!"

I looked at the dress that Pansy destroyed. Placed it on Pansys bed, with a letter saying,

thank you for letting me get a better looking dress. Thanks to you, I'll be even more beautiful. I thought you might want this since you always have such a burning sense of fashion.

I changed clothes and grabbed my bag and made my way down the stairs. Walking down the stone road, going into Hogsmeade. I sent a letter earlier to Katherine what had happened and I needed help.

"Oh dear, what a shame." She walks with me.

"I did slap her." she laughs.

"Good job." We walked into the shop, greeted by the tailor. We skimmed through and nothing caught my attention. "What about this one?" Katherine comes from the back and showed me the dress.

"It's beautiful." If I had to be honest, I liked this one more than the other one. I tried it on and the woman made it to my size.

"Here." Katherine gave me heels. I slid them on and I saw myself in the mirror. I look so pretty. Katherine stood behind me. "And then a final touch." She puts on the necklace Draco had given me. The golden chain went perfectly with the dress.

"Are you crying?" I asked her as she wiped her eyes.

"I just remembered how small you were. How the years went by." She sniffs. I changed back to my clothes and bought the dress. We stopped by to drink some butterbeer before I had to leave. I sipped on my glass.

"Mmm this is so good." I hummed. My back relaxed itself, making me slouch.

"Daphne dont slouch." Katherine sighs.

"Im not slouching!" I sat up straight.

"Your back is going to be messed up!" She wiggles her back. "You're going to end up like that one man down the street, all crooked." I rolled my eyes. I know shes not arguing with me about slouching.

"Katherine." I laughed.

"Up! Up!" She straightens my back.

"Aright!" I waved her off, fixing my posture. "Thank you and I'm sorry about the other dress. I should've been more careful." I came out to say, changing the subject.

"Anything for you Daphne." She hugs me. "Besides, it wasn't your fault. If that Parkinson bitch touches this dress, ill be here in a second." I laughed. She touched my cheek. "How have you been?"

"Better." She looked at me as if she seen someone she knew before. "Katherine? You alright?" She hums.

"Sorry." She fixes my shirt. "Who's your date?" She asked me as we walked out and heading back to the school.

"Draco." I blushed. She awes.

"I knew it." She smiles. "You two are inseparable. You deserve him."

"You think so?"

"He makes you smile when everything bad happened. Thats love." Love...is that what it is? What I've been feeling. Thats actual love? Then i was right, I'm in love with Draco Malfoy.

"Have you been in love?"

"I lost that person a long time ago." I wonder who it was. "Lucas wasn't fond of him. Things happened and we just...fell apart. I still love him though. No matter what hes done, it wasn't him. I know."

"Has father?" She looks at me. She nods.

"That person he loved wasn't your mother." I saw that one coming. "Someone you may know. But I can not say. Its not my place."

"You'll find that person again." She pulls me in for a hug. "He's probably waiting for you."

"Oh no. He probably moved on. Forgot about me even. But I found my new love." She whispered to me. "Its you. You gave me the opportunity to love again."  Growing up, her brother became a deatheater, her sister gone. That let Katherine alone and trusted nobody. "Now go, you have a big day tomorrow." I gave her another hug to her. I skipped my way to the dorm. I hanged the dress and sang happily.
