Daphne had fainted and spent the day and half sleeping. Lucas had been up and down checking up on her. This is all too new. It wasn't easy, he always had Katherine and Severus by his side and now. They both lost everything in one day.
Lucas sips on his tea as he reads Katherines letters, trying to keep her memory alive. Daphne comes in, rubbing her eyes. He sets his cup down and helps her to the chair.
"You okay?" He checks her temperature. Daphne didn't say a word.
"You put that spell on me didn't you? The one that I die for a little while."
"I couldn't let her kill you. I had to." Daphne nods her head. She was glad that Lucas casted the spell on her on the right time. She pulls Lucas in for a hug. He was shocked at first, but he gave in. "We can do this. We're going to be okay." Lucas lifted her chin, her sad eyes stared back. Daphne looks at her arm, the mark was still there, still noticeable. "Why wont you go back to bed, go back to sleep." She didn't say anything. "Im going to pick up some stuff for you, ill be back before you know it." He kissed her head. "I made some tea, be careful its hot, i just heated it up." Daphne looks at the pot.
Lucas went to the door just as he heard a scream. He dropped everything and ran to the kitchen. He saw the pot on the floor and Daphne holding her arm. He raced in, holding her and checking her arm.
"I dont want to be reminded everyday of the cruel things I've done." She whispers to him. Lucas had set her on chair while he tended the wound. He wrapped the bandage around.
"It's going to heal in a few days, maybe a week." He cleans the table.
"Uncle Lucas?" He turns to her. "Im sorry."
"I know but one day you have to put it in the past. Yeah its going to hurt, but we all have to move on. Im not saying right away, you'll know when the right time is." He leans against the door. "Im sorry about Draco." Daphne looks away as she heard his name.
"Im going to sleep." She heads up to her room. She locked herself in there, looking through the drawings she had made of him. This one was unexpected. Daphne looks at the ring on her finger. They were so close. Why did she leave him, she should've looked for him, she thought to herself. He probably was all alone. She held the book close to her chest and laid on her side. She wanted them all back.

The next day, Lucas and Daphne had been planning the funeral for Severus and Katherine and they decided to clean the castle, take down Fionas portrait off the wall, removing everything that she had left behind. They went to the attic.
"Look." Daphne pulls out a frame of her as a baby. Lucas laughs, commenting about her cubby cheeks. They had put the portrait in the back, hidden away. "Whats this?" I looked at a chest.
"I dont know actually."
"Alohomora." The chest had opened and was covered in rose petals, inside was expensive dresses, jewelry and a letter. I teared the envelope and began to read it.
To my sweetest Daphne,
If you are reading this, I do believe that i have died. And if you see this before my funeral, i will not be buried with my rings, or my silk or my dresses. I leave them with you. I want you to have a piece of me wherever you go. I love you to the fullest,
Katherine
I placed the letter to my lips and closed my eyes. I ran my hand over the dresses, picking one up and stood in front of the mirror. I can feel her as if she was here, standing behind me.
There was a knock at the door. Lucas and I weren't expecting any guest. I put the dress back in its chest and went downstairs. Lucas opens the door and lets whoever it was in. Two women came in, the looked around the foyer. They were dressed in their fancy dresses, bags and hair all prefect.
"Alice." Lucas coughs.
"Hello there cousin." She pats him on the cheek. "You must be Daphne. My! Have you grown!" I dragged myself to them. The other girl, my age, didn't say a word, just judged me.
"Do I know you?" I crossed my arms, standing next to Lucas.
"You were only 4 when you meet me. I wasn't going to expect you to remember me." She pulls the girl closer to her. "This is my daughter, Leslie." Im seriously related to these people? They look like they were being controlled or even brainwashed.
"Hello there." Leslie bowed, and is now waiting for me to do it too.
"Hi." I sticked my hand out, to give her a hand shake but she scuffs. I gave her a look, the same look she gave me when she entered. "Sorry, too poor for you? I should've dressed up, I didn't know the queen was coming to my home." Lucas chuckles but stopped as Alice looked at him.
"Why are you here Alice." Lucas didn't want them here.
"Ive heard about Fiona." My eyes widen. "And Katherine, and whats his name? The man? Whatever, he's not important." I cracked my fingers.
"You mean my father? Severus Snape?" I growled at her.
"Oh yes, him." She shrugs. What a stuck up bitch!
"What have you heard?"
"That they died during the battle. Im here to help you with the funeral." Lucas and I exchanged looks.
"We don't want your help, so you can go back to your cave or whatever you came from." I shooed them. Alice and Leslie looked at me.
"Thats is very disrespectful young lady. No lady should ever speak to anybody like that." This woman is nuts.
"Alice, we don't need your help. I have it handled. I just want it to be me and Daphne, maybe a few close friends and thats all-"
"Absolutely not! Lucas, did you forgot about us? Your family in France? We deserve to be here."she walks around the hall, with Leslie following her.
"What the-"
"I have no clue." Lucas sighs. "How did she know?" Lucas never told anyone. And I definitely don't talk to these people. Alice started to measure the walls. This is going to be a bloody nightmare.
Dinner came around and those two stuck ups sat up straight, pinkys up. I wasn't raise to do that. The way they are so sophisticated, made me want to laugh. They are too proper. Its like they have a stick up their ass.
"Daphne, sit up, no lady should sit like that." Alice hums.
"She can sit however she likes, excuse me." Lucas backs me up.
"I see, you don't have a husband." Alice continues.
"And?"
"You should already be married. You should be with a man, tend to him." That just blew me. I slammed my hands against the table and left. I could've been. But he's gone. I spent the whole day in my room, and I was coming out to get something to drink. I saw Leslie snooping around and was going to enter my fathers office.
"Get the hell out of there!" I yelled, slamming the doors in Leslie's face.
"You shouldn't yell, its not-"
"Lady like? Shove off Leslie. Do not go in there you hear me? This is off limits for you and your crazy mother."
"My mother is not crazy!" She grabs my arm, pulling me closer to her. I bit my cheek. She does not want to test me right now. "You should treat someone with respect."
"You have to earn it first." I yanked my arm back.
"Is that so?"
"Get out of my face." I spat. I can feel her judging me. Great, another Pansy I have to deal with. "Stay out of my way and we won't have any problems."
"You said you weren't married, but you have a ring on your finger." I stopped walking.
"Its because he died. We were supposed to get married."
"What was his name?" She was now prying.
"Just because we're family doesn't mean I'm going to tell you my life story." She mumbled something but I was gone already. I sat on my desk and played around with my quill, and I started writing a letter to Draco. I know he wasn't going to read it, it will make me feel better. It brought back so many memories, how we used to stay up all night writing back and forth, 30 letters in 2 hours, over 70 in a day. I kissed the letter and tucked it in my drawer. This is going to be tough. But like Lucas said, we got this.
