Tere Liye
There are only two ways
to live your life.
One is as though nothing is a miracle, the other is as though everything is a miracle.
"Dekhiye na Madam, main hi humesha aapko White pehanne ke liye mana kiya karti thi aur aaj main hi aapko is White Wedding Dress mein apne haathon se taiyaar kar rahi hoon." While adjusting the veil of Naina's wedding gown, Mrs. Briganza expressed with a smile.
"Aap hi ne toh mujhe samjhaya tha ki mujhe Sameer ko uske pyaar ka haq dena chahiye. Gayi toh use sab batane thi taki humesha ke liye usse apna haath chudwa saku, par usne toh sab janne ke baad mera haath aur kaske hi thaam liya."
"Mushkil ghadiyo mein saathi ko saath chodte dekha hai, lekin Sameer Sir saath nibhayege. Aur dekhiyega bahut durr tak nibhayege. Par dekhiye na sab kuch kitni jaldi jaldi ho raha hai. Aaj shaadi hai aap dono ki."
"Sab jaldi jaldi toh karna hi padega na, Mrs. Briganza. Mere pass zyada waqt jo nahi hai. Aur rahi baat durr tak saath nibhane ki toh uske liye do logon ka durr tak saath chalna bhi jaruri hota hai, lekin kal ko main toh.."
"Aapne phir se agar wohi baatein kari toh mujhe Sir ko hi Phone karna padega, jinki baat aap ko phir maanni hi padegi."
"Mrs. Briganza, aap sach mein Mummy Papa jaise daantti hai mujhe, aaj mere is khaas din par unki bahut yaad aa rahi hai, lekin aap unki kumi bilkul bhi mehsoos nhi hone de rahi mujhe. Tabhi toh dekhiye na aapke kehne par hi hum Christian Wedding kar rahe hai. Maine kabhi nahi socha tha ki meri Christian Wedding hogi. Aur janti hai Sameer toh pehli baar aisi koi wedding dekhega..woh bhi khud ki hi. Par pata nhi hai kahan woh, uski Dulhan bhi taiyar ho gayi hai ab toh."
"Aise thodi aayege woh, ladkewalo ke saath aayege. Aur woh sab toh Church mein already intezaar kar rahe hai humara."
In front of the church, Sameer standing in his tuxedo, with its black jacket, trousers, tie, and white shirt was constantly watching the minute hand in his wristwatch that was taking more time today like his would-be bride, and muttered, "Abhi tak nahi aayi. Intezaar karane ki aadat na jaane kab jayegi tumhari Naina."
Though next second, he heard the voice whom he was awaiting desperately not for the last few minutes, but for the last 15 long years, "Kabhi nahi jayegi yeh aadat toh, shaadi ke baad toh aur zyada intezaar karna pad sakta hai. Soch lo, abhi bhi mauka hai bhaagne ka. Bhagna chhate ho toh bhaag sakte ho." Naina said, holding the fleecy voluminous skirt of her white silk gown, beautified underneath a long veil, with a bunch of white flowers. Seeing her love in front of him as his would-be bride numbs his all senses for a few moments.
"Lagta hai tum toh sach mein bhaagne ke baare mein hi such lag gaye." She again chided him.
Taking a deep breath and coming out from the magical spell of her ecstasy, he leans towards her and uttered slowly, "Dilwale bhagte nahi hai, balki apni Dulhaniya lekar jate hai. By the way, bahut khoobsurat lag rahi ho."
"Tum bhi theek thak hi lag rahe ho." She nagged him once more.
"Umm..theek thak, tabhi toh koi apni nazre nhi hata pa raha hai humse, kyu Mrs. Briganza."
"Time Please..aap dono aaj ke din kyu fight kar rahe ho. Pehle mujhe yeh batayo main kaisi lag rahi hoon." The small girl, Mishti, come ahead and looks at both of them, one by one.
"Mishthi toh sabse preety lag rahi hai..ekdum bride jaisi. Agar maine aapki Naina Didi ko Promise nahi kiya hota, toh main pakka aapse hi shaadi kar leta." Sameer lifts her in his arms and spoke, looking at Naina.
Naina was amazed to see the bunch of her music class children there. "Yehi toh hai humare Ladkewale." Mrs. Briganza stated.
"Par yeh toh galat baat hai na, meri Team mein sirf Mrs. Briganza aur Team Groom itni badi." Naina said with false annoyance.
"Hmm..Naina didi keh toh shi rahi hai. Aap ek kaam karo Didi, aap bhi humari team mein hi aa jayo. Phir hum sab ki ek team." Then, Mishti pulls Naina near Sameer.
"Ek team banane ke liye, pehle hume in dono ki wedding karani padegi. Toh chale andar Church mein." Mrs. Briganza intervened.
"Ek minute, Mrs. Briganza, mujhe kuch baat karni hai Naina se. Aap log chaliye andar. Hum dono aate hai." Naina asks him, but he just blinks his eyes.
Clutching her hand in his, he takes her along to the empty backside of the church. Sitting on one wooden bench, not meeting her eyes, he remains silent.
"Kya hua hai Sameer, kuch hua hai kya. Nanu ki yaad aa rahi hai."
"Unki yaad toh aa rahi thi, par in baccho ne aakar sab theek kar diya. Itne cute ladkewale after all kahan milege mujhe. Baat toh kuch aur hai. Aaj hum do se ek ho jayege Naina.. humesha ke liye. Aur aaj hi ek baat realize hui ki humari yeh life khali panne ki tarah humare saamne hoti hai, aur kalam humare haathon mein.. jisse hume bas apni kahani likhni hoti hai. Lekin phir bhi hum kabhi kabhi apne hi haathon apni kahani galat kar dete hai. Par humari khud ki perfect kahani humare siwa aur kon likh sakta hai. Isiliye us galat likhe panno ko maine aaj phaad diya hai, tum bhi phaad do ab. Jo ho gaya, so ho gaya. Ek nayi shuruat karte hai, ek naya panna likhte hai aaj se."
"Aur us aakhri panne ka kya Sameer jo pehle se likha hua hai. Use na phaad sakte hai, aur na hi us likhe hue ko badal sakte hai."
"Toh use likha rehne do, hum baki chute panno ko bharte hai..apne pyar ki siyaahi se. Kyuki aaj tumhara haath pakad ke samajh aa gaya hai, pyaar woh nahi hai jo haasil ho jaye, pyaar woh nahi hai jo kharch ho jaye. Pyaar toh woh hai jo hum mein bas reh jaye, jo kabhi kum na ho, jo bas badhta hi chala jaye. Aur pata hai mera pyaar, meri zindagi mein mitthas banke aaj shaamil ho rha hai..bilkul iski tarah." He brings his fist in front of her.
"Aisa kya chupa rahe ho?"
Opening his hand, he showed a pair of silver anklets to her. "Meri zindagi ki mitthas..tere liye. Kyuki tum bhi toh mere liye is Payal ke jaisi ho. Bas iske jaisi ab chanakti kum ho. Pehna du?"
She nods. Sitting on his knees, he makes her wear the anklets, while she just watches him affectionately. "Sameer, main kuch nahi layi tumhe dene ke liye. Haan..par kuch kehna jarur hai tumse."
She gets up and makes him stand. While untying his wrongly knotted tie, looking straight in his eyes, "Tumhe Tie ki knot aaj tak lagani nhi aayi. School mein kitni baar maine khud tumhe seekhaya tha par tumhe nhi aaya. Aur lagta hai aage bhi mujhe hi lagani padegi..haina. Par jante ho tumhe aur bahut si knots kholni aa gayi hai. Main toh sirf tumhari yeh Tie ki knot theek kar sakti hoon, magar tumne toh meri uljhi hui zindagi ko hi theek kar diya hai, Sameer. Mere mann mein chal rahi uljhano wali knot, mere maut se darne wali knot, mere pyaar par vishwas na kar pane wali knot, mere zindagi se har umeed chod dene wali knot..aaj tumne sab knots khol di hai. Aur in knots ko kholke tumne meri zindagi ke us khali hisse ko bhara hai jahan jane se main khud dara karti thi. Manti ho tum meri zindagi ki umar nahi badha sakte, magar jitni bhi is zindagi ki umar bachi hai tumne us mein se har gaanth khol di hai. Haan ek gaanth baandh jarur di hai..apne pyaar ki gaanth. Aur suno..yeh sab tumse tumhari chanakti hui Naina hi keh rahi hai. Lo ban gaye ab tum bhi Handsome, bandh gayi tumhari Tie ki knot bhi."
"Toh chalo hum bhi bandh jate hai ab ek dusre se, zindagi ko pyaar se mila hi dete hai." Entwining their fingers in each other's hands, they make their way to the altar.
Both bow their heads in prayer first. The church priest reads a few stanzas from the holy Bible. "Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails."
Both Sameer and Naina exchange vows where they both make mutual promises to one another to uphold the blessedness of their marriage. "Sameer, do you take Naina to be your wife?" The priest questioned.
"I Sameer Maheshwari, in faith, honesty, and love, take Naina, to be my wedded wife from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, in joys and in sorrows, to love and to cherish, until.." He stops in the middle of his vow, as doesn't want to recall the after part.
"Until death do us apart." Naina completed his promise and smiled.
"Aise nahi, Love was there in my life before you. Love was there during with you. But I vow, will not be there after you." He completed his vow in his way.
"Naina, do you take Sameer to be your husband?" The priest asked her.
"I Naina Aggarwal, in presence of everyone, take you today as my wedded husband. I give you all that I have myself and my love. Today, I give me to you. And with this, I seal my vow of love to you."
The priest prays for God's blessings on the newlyweds and declares, "What God has joined, let no one put apart." They both perform the unity ceremony by lighting a new flame together. Each one of them puts a wedding ring on the left ring finger. The father declares the couple officially married in the eyes of the church as a pronouncement ceremony, and directed them to kiss. Naina looks first in the direction of all the kids who were watching them with keenness, and then at Sameer who was taking a step ahead towards her.
"Shall I?" He asked her with hope. She affirmed and closes her eyes, in anticipation of that what he was already hoping for. However, the next moment, she felt him placing a long warm kiss on her forehead. Opening her eyes, she finds him smirking, "Jab bacche nahi dekh rahe honge tab maathe par definitely nahi karuga. I promise."
Both Sameer and Naina come back down the aisle and exits the house of worship, officially married. Everyone drops the two at the house as one team and left with happiness and joyfulness.
"Mujhe abhi andar ghar mein nahai jana hai. Ab toh Bacche bhi gaye, aur Mrs. Briganza bhi." Naina said while holding his wrist. She looks at him with those deep brown eyes that pull him towards her.
"So, shall I?" He asked her again, taking his own sweet time.
"Ab kya chahte ho, main chilla chilla ke kahu ki.." He didn't let her complete and places his lips on hers. The same place that always remains constant for every stage of their love, witnesses the beginning of their union as well. At sunset in the mountains, he watches her skin glow in the golden light. She kisses him back with her eyes closed and her fingers slowly threaded in his hair locks, as the sun goes down across the valley. He finds all the stories of their love on her shoulders, waiting to be read by his lips, while the mountains across the forest glow under the dying sunlight as if celebrating this moment between two lovers before the night arrives to hide them both under the blanket of stars.
Suno na..hum khud ko tumhara aur bas tumhara banana chahte hai.
Tumhari ungliyon mein khud ki umgliyaan ta-umar fasana chahte hai.
Aadha sa nikla chaand ho..us chaand ke neeche baith hum tumhare saath bas ek zindagi jitna waqt beetana chahte hai.
Apni har betuki baat se tumhe hasakar tumhare dukh bhulana chahte hai.
Tum choti choti baaton par rootho..kyuki hum yuhi tumko humesha manana chahte hai.
Tumhare saath har raat chhath par baith kar us chaand ko usse bhi koi khoobsurat dikhana chahte hai.
Jab tumhe darr lage sunsaan raaste mein toh tumhe gale lagane ke liye apni baahein bas failana chahte hai.
Tum kya ho mere liye..yeh tumko batana nhi, tumko mehsoos karana chahte hai.
Aaj ya kal mein khatam hone wala rishta nahi..umar ke aakhri padaav tak saath nibhana chahte hai.
