In which while misun is on the set of Kingdom, Felix realizes that he has competition for her heart.

Around the time Stray Kids found out that they would be competing in a survival show called Kingdom, Mi Sun was too busy with GØLDEN to even participate in the show. Or so JYP thought.

Turns out, their schedule had to be paused due to Jisoo having a lot of BTS scheduling and it would interfere with the girl group scheduling. So they postponed it until further notice.

Which meant that Red Flavor promotions were temporarily closed until their schedules cleared. Also Moon was getting married, Got7 was going through a comeback and everything. So everything was regrettably paused until everyone had time.

But in a way, she was happy that she could compete with her group. And because she was the only female competing, rating would go even higher.

During one of the rehearsals, Mi Sun was set to do a performance with Ateez's very own San. They were going to do a cover of "Monster" by EXO. The performance involved a lot of aerial tricks and acrobatics, so they had to work really hard.

There as a point in the dance routine where San had to catch Mi Sun in his arms after the backup dancers pushed her off a high human tower.

Now, Mi Sun was a little scared of heights. So she was a bit nervous about being pushed down a high place but San was a lot of help for her.

The first two rehearsals were filled with shy interactions and giggling as they had only first met when the show just started. They were fans of each other but never really interacted with each other like some of the other members.

Most members of Ateez and Stray Kids were great friends while Mi Sun never had the time to actually get to know any of them.

So this show gave them the chance to get to know each other.

After those two day, they slowly began to get comfortable with each other. To a point where they can playfully tease each other and joke with each other now.

It kind of made some of the other dancers blush because of how much of a couple the two looked. It was like they were dating or something.

Chan and Felix decided to visit the two one day during their dance rehearsals. The topic of Felix's feelings for Mi Sun was brought up as they made their way to the dance room.

"When are you going to finally tell her how you feel?" Chan asked straightforwardly. There was no use beating around the bush.

"Shhhhh!!!!" Felix shushed him, making sure no one was around. "Oi! You trying to get me caught?! What if someone was around?!"

"Come on!" Chan rolled his eyes as they continued down the hall. "It's been, what? 3 years since you've admitted to liking her? And you have not even done anything to secure it! It's obvious she likes you."

Felix shrugged. He was right. He did admit it to himself that he liked Mi Sun but it was not that easy to just confess to someone. He had fears that she would reject him.

He knows that it's ridiculous to even think that something like that could ruin their friendship but that fear only grew when he realized just how many admirers Mi Sun had.

And he's seen it all. He could even name all of their admires.

Jaemin, Yeonjun, Jeno, his own member Hyunjin, and many more.

It was hard to compete with them. And he wasn't  afraid to admit that he was a bit self conscious about it.

"Look, I don't know anymore." He admitted. "It's like when I take one step forward, I end up taking ten steps back. I want to tell her but it seems like there's something stopping me from doing so."

Chan felt bad. He knew how much Felix really liked Mi Sun and he could be a bit insecure about himself. No matter how confident he seemed to the public, he was secretly insecure about a lot of things. Love being the main one.

"All I'm saying is you should do it before it's too late." Chan said, pushing the door open. "The worst thing she could say is no. And even then, she'll still be your friend. It's not like she's going to hate you or anything."

"Yeah.." Felix mumbled. "Maybe you're right. Maybe I'll just—"

He paused as soon as they walked into the dance room. And what he saw not only made him feel jealous but very sad.

San and Mi Sun were in the middle of doing the falling stunt. The dancer feigned pushing her off of the human tower and she dropped all the way down, into San's arms perfectly.

He had one arm under her legs and the other under her back. Her arms were around his neck, holding herself up.

Mi Sun let out a nervous giggle as San laughed a little. He could tell how scared she was.

"I told you I got you." He said, still carrying her. "You can trust me, I promise."

"Thanks." She thanked as she leaned her head on his shoulder. "It was still scary, though."

"Remember," San said, letting her down. "Just look at me."

The two really looked like they belonged together. And the scene hurt Felix. He no longer felt like smiling but he didn't want them to know of his bad mood. So he faked a smile.

"Hey guys!" He feigned happiness as he and Chan approached them. He was so good at it, no one could tell that he was hurting inside.

  "Felix! Chan!" Mi Sun beamed, running towards them. She hugged them both as San followed close by.

"Hey guys," San greeted, shaking their hands. "We didn't know you were coming. But you're just in time to see what we can do."

"We can't wait, man." Chan said with a smile on his face. "I can tell whatever you guys come up with, you'll do a great job."

"You guys have to see this part of the dance."

As Mi Sun and San began gathering the rest of the dancers to show them, Felix couldn't help but think. They looked perfect together. They really did.

He didn't stand a chance at all. And that hurt him the most.

It might be the insecurities talking but he couldn't help but to let the thoughts manipulate him a bit. And that pushed him deeper into his own insecurities.

Chan noticed how Felix's smile faltered a little and he felt himself feeling sad for his friend. He knew San and Mi Sun were only friends but he could tell how Felix was feeling.

He's been in his shoes before. Albeit it was a long time ago but still, he can understand how it feels to like someone but see that there are others who like the same person.

Pursing his lips, Chan looked back at the dance routine. He made a promise to himself. He was going to help Felix get Mi Sun or he was going to help him through this dark hurdle.

Because that's what best friends do.
