Ok, I know what it feels like to have a very messy house! Been there, sis! Here are some tips I use on my (*whispers*3 monthly) clean-up days.
Organizing:
1. The Bed
Okay, organizing the bed is quite simple! I just choose a favorite bedsheet, usually the white one with pink flowers, and BOOM! Done!
But here's a hack: Take a ribbon and tie the sides of the sheet to the bed. This way, your sheet won't fly away from the sides and you won't be left with a mattress without cover. Also, dears, if you are having periods, take a thick towel and wear overnight pads. This way, your sheets won't look like a cloth from a horrorΒ filmΒ murder scene.
2. The Wardrobe/Closet
Sis, my closet is basically a junkyard. I literally have a whole drawer for trash. So what I do to make the closet look like a human's and not an alien's is this: Take out all the stuff, clothes, books, posters, torn and crushed papers, markers, all of it. Dump them somewhere. Sort the stuff out. Like clothes on drawer 1, books and academic stuff on the 3rd row, like that. By the end of sorting out the stuff, you'll have a super closet, organized and all that.
3. The Floor
My room's floor is strewn with trash.
Old toys, papers, broken glass (I break one nearly every week), clothes that came from the washing machine and somehow ended up dusty within 3 months (I wonder why?*taps chin thoughtfully*), experiments went wrong, experiments that work, samples, stuff like that. Basically, I put half of the stuff in the trash bin and the other half goes to my closet. The stuff I don't need is locked up at my mother's locker. She loves stuff like my old toys and clothes. The floor is swept and cleaned, I spray my favorite room freshener and we have a place where humans can survive without having to deal with serious illnesses from a horrible room.
4. The Desk
Aha! If you have a desk, you know it's really hard to keep stuff "in their respective places" as my mom says. I just made really simple pen stand by sticking ice cream sticks. And I keep my stuff jumbled as I can't work in a mess. So it's an "organized mess" like I call it. Buuuuuuuuuuut, I think I have some real organization tips here. Keep books and copies separately. Seriously, this helped me find stuff loads of times. Not that hard. Then keep a pen stand/drawer. Automatically, your desk will be crazily organized.
Personalisation
1. Walls or Closet
I make some posters than print or buy them. I sent my sis, eloquiant, some Ravenclaw ones. You must have a favorite book, band, singer, dancer or something! If you don't, you can always post positive quotes! My closet is full of my paintings, experiment ideas, Ravenclaw pride aesthetics, pics of my besties and boyfriend, some positivity quotes, jokes, and stuff! I also added a magnet place to hang my favorite quotes like- "People who are crazy enough to believe they can change the world are the ones that really do. So start being crazy and believe you can change the world!" And "Style is unique, fashion is common. Be stylish, no one can copy you!"
That's an example!
2. To-Do List
I have a whiteboard where I write what to do. I had made a paper one too! It makes me feel more organized by seeing it, knowing what is next! I also downloaded a to-do app on my laptop and tablet so I know where I need to be and what I need to do!
3. Pen stand
Take a few hundred ice cream sticks. Take one, glue another two to it so that a triangle forms. Repeat till it reaches the desired height. Add a base. Decorate according to your style. I added a few dried pink and violet flowers to its side and added a bead string. Pretty nice to look at!
4. Add your favorite stuff
Creates a nice ambiance to make your mood happy
I love to hear from you guys! Comment what you want to see and say what I can add to this chapter! Oh, and you guys don't know how honest I am with you. I am the owner of the messiest room.
