As the wheels of our private jet kissed the tarmac in England, I couldn't tear my eyes away from the airplane window. My heart pounded with a mix of excitement and nervous energy.

Turning away from the mesmerizing view, I beamed at my father, Lorenzo. His usual composed demeanor softened as he saw the uncontainable joy on my face.

"Babbo, I can't believe we're finally here!" I exclaimed, my voice brimming with enthusiasm.

My father chuckled, his eyes twinkling. "Yes, mia cara. A new adventure awaits us."

We were leaving behind our beloved Italy, uprooting for the promising business opportunities awaiting us in England. Knowing we would still visit frequently, returning to Italy's sun-kissed landscapes and familiar faces, made the transition easier. The thought of living close to my best friend, James Beaufort, filled me with excitement.

The Beauforts and our family had been friends for generations, both in friendship and business. Growing up, James and I were inseparable, our bond strengthened by countless shared adventures and dreams.

As the jet rolled to a stop, I glanced back at the lush English environment one last time, feeling a rush of optimism. Our new life was about to begin, and I couldn't wait to embrace every moment of it.

"Welcome to England!" he exclaimed, his grin widening. "You have no idea how long I've been waiting for this moment."

I laughed, my heart swelling with joy. "Neither can I. It's like a dream."

My father and James's father exchanged hearty greetings, their deep voices blending into the bustling noise of the airport. Cordelia, James's mother, pulled me into a warm hug, her eyes shimmering with genuine happiness.

"We're so glad you're here, darling," she said, brushing a strand of hair from my face. "It's going to be wonderful having you so close."

As we gathered our luggage, James took my hand, guiding me toward the waiting car. The drive to the Beaufort estate was a blur of lush green fields and charming villages. James and I chatted non-stop, catching up on everything we had missed in each other's lives. It felt like no time had passed, yet everything was different.

When we arrived at the estate, I was awestruck. The grand manor, surrounded by sprawling gardens and ancient trees, was like something out of a fairy tale. James saw the amazement in my eyes and squeezed my hand.

"Wait until you see your new house," he said with a wink. "It's right next door."

Our new home was equally breathtaking, with ivy-covered walls and large, welcoming windows. As we explored the rooms, I felt a sense of excitement bubbling up inside me.

Later that evening, the Beauforts hosted a welcome dinner in our honor. The table was laden with delicious food, the conversation flowing easily. Laughter filled the air as we shared stories and made plans for the future.

As the night drew to a close, James and I stepped outside into the cool, crisp night. The sky was clear, and the stars shone brightly above us.

"I'm so glad you're here," James said, his voice soft and sincere. "There's so much I want to show you."

I smiled, feeling a sense of contentment wash over me. "I can't wait,"
