MAKING A PNG

welcome! lets start ✨

first get your picture you wanna make a graphic with (good quality hopefully)

this is the picture i'll be using as an example, it is a bit harder to make a png of, but i though i'd rather use that than an easy one!

ofc it's always the nicest to use pictures like the ones below which got a simple background, and if you've got iOS then you can just make pngs directly from your gallery - this makes things a lot easier ofc.

but now we will go to pixanova and open our picture there.

click on the erase button (around the bottom right side). a new menu should open up on the bottom, looking like this:

click on mask tool (on the right), and you'll be offered a lot of different eraser tools to choose from.

the magic wand one is really good when the background you want to remove is really in contrast to your model and has just one color, like in the examples above. then hold and drag on the screen to choose how much you want to have removed.
with my example, i can't use the magic wand, so it'll be a bit more complex.

first we'll use the brush tool, and cut out the background roughly all around the model. it should look like this in the end:

now we move onto the next tool: smart brush (the brush with sparkles). as the name already gives away, this brush recognizes the edges of your model, so it will be a bit easier to cut out.
use the eraser brush to cut away all edges left. don't worry about baby hairs or anything like that, you can draw that back on later.
be as precise as possible, maybe even go over some edges again with the normal eraser brush, since the smart brush sometimes leaves shadowy, blurry edges when the contrast between background and model isn't big enough. and we don't want blurry edges it'll look shitty later trust me🤧

and that's it, we're done! save your png and we can move onto the next step - the manip 😳
