EYE COLOR

hi and welcome to the eye tutorial!

first we create a new layer and set it to add. now use a white airbrush with low opacity and bring out the whites of the eye. this is really important, bc if the eye looks dull the rest of the highlights won't pop.

before and after:

now pick the eye color you want and use an airbrush to draw a blurry half circle around the pupil.

like so:

now use the following brush, set the eye color a little brighter and draw a bit around the pupil, but kinda only on one side, not around the whole pupil.

make the color even lighter and the brush smaller and go in the centre of your drawn eye color again to add dimension.

it's all very subtle but i hope you know what i mean.

next use a white airbrush and draw little dots in the pupil, at the same place in both eyes. vary them in size and so about two to three. if the model has already little light reflexes in her eyes, draw on top of them (if still needed).

lastly use this or a similar highlight brush to go over the waterline again.

you can also refine the highlights around the eyes, if needed.
