Chapter 55 - A Pleasant Date Night

"Well, Severus? What message does Lord Voldemort have for me?"
"No โ€” no message โ€” I'm here on my own account!"
"I โ€” I come with a warning โ€” no, a request โ€” please โ€”"
Dumbledore flicked his wand. Though leaves and branches flew through the night air around them, silence fell on the spot where he and Snape faced each other.
"What request could a Death Eater make of me?"
"The โ€” the prophecy... the prediction... Trelawney..."
"Ah, yes," said Dumbledore. "How much did you relay to Lord Voldemort?"
"Everything โ€” everything I heard!" said Snape. "That is why โ€” it is for that reason โ€” he thinks it means Lily Evans!"
"The prophecy did not refer to a woman," said Dumbledore. "It spoke of a boy born at the end of July โ€”"
"There was another!" Snape said. "It spoke of a boy born as the eighth month peaks-"
"You don't mean-"
"You know what I mean! He thinks it means their sons, he is going to hunt them down โ€” kill them all"
"What did the prophecy say, Severus?"

"The one who will help vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... born to those who have defied him, born as the eight month peaks..."

Y/Ns POV

Well, it's been an interesting summer to say the least.

I've spent the entire summer at Twelve Grimmauld Place in London helping to renovate and keep it tidy as it would be the new headquarters for the Order of the Phoenix.

I learned that the Order of the Phoenix was a secret society that was made to oppose Voldemort and the Death Eaters back when he first rose. My parents were actually a part of the society when it first came to prominence.

Mrs. Weasley told me the other day that the first time she met me was in an Order of the Phoenix meeting as a baby, which was very nice to know.

Uncle Thomas was busy recruiting members along with Dumbledore so I've seen him a few times this summer. Dad has been involved in helping us renovate the house as well as regularly recruiting members to our cause.

Unfortunately, I am unable to to know more about the Order and whatever they are planning, as I am not allowed in the meetings with the others. I remember one time we had tried to use Fred and George's expendable ears to listen in on a meeting but we were caught pretty easily.

I have to admit, those expendable ears are very helpful at times.

It's been making me really mad but I can't do a whole lot about it.

Speaking of Dumbeldore, for some reason he requested that none of us have contact with Harry all summer and not until the school year. Especially talking about the night in the graveyard.

I couldn't understand it, why would we need to be so secretive about a night that traumatized both of us. But Dad reminded me that we shouldn't disobey Dumbledore, even though I could tell even he thought it was unfair.

I just wanted some excitement with my summer, and to hear more about what happened at the graveyard, I think I could be more of help to the Order than people realize, I was there!

But whatever, if I have to keep tidying up Grimmauld Place then so be it. As irritating as it is, I can't do much about it.

Thankfully, today I was going to see Hermione this weekend at her house Godric, I missed her so much. I haven't been able to see her all summer besides all the letters she's been writing me.

Hey Y/N,

I hope this letter finds you well! I can't believe it's been the whole summer since we last saw each other. I've missed you so much, and I'm beyond excited to finally see you again. It feels like forever!

I've been counting down the days until our weekend together at my house. My parents are looking forward to meeting you again, and they can't stop asking about you. I've told them so much about you, and they can't wait to see the boy who's stolen their daughter's heart again. My Mum has already begun to tease me about it.

But before that, our date this weekend is going to be incredible! Spending the weekend at my place with my parents is going to be so much fun. I've got so many ideas for what we can do. The biggest one being the carnival that's happening in London. I know you've never experienced anything like it, and I can't wait to see your reactions to all the rides and attractions. Don't worry; I'll make sure you don't get too scared on the scary ones!

I must admit, I'm a little nervous about not letting Harry know about everything that happened last year. It's hard to keep such a big secret from him, but I know we shouldn't disobey Dumbledore. He must have his reasons for keeping things quiet. Dumbledore's orders were clear - we can't tell him anything. It's tough, but I believe in Dumbledore's wisdom. We shouldn't disobey him, no matter how hard it is.

On a brighter note, O.W.L. exams are coming up, and I've been studying like mad to prepare. I'm sure you've been doing the same, even though you're incredibly clever and it probably comes naturally to you. But I can't wait for us to tackle our exams together. I'm sure we'll do brilliantly!

Oh, and guess what? I have a feeling that we both might become prefects this year! Won't that be fun?

Anyway, enough about that serious stuff! I can't wait to see you and spend some quality time together. It's going to be a fantastic weekend!

I love you,

Hermione

I would be spending the weekend at her house and will be bringing her back to Grimmauld Place with everyone. The school year was approaching very quickly and this year, we have to take the O.W.L exams. These exams determine whether or not we can take advanced classes in our later years at school.

We also have to decide on what we want to do for the rest of our lives this year, which is an immense amount of pressure in itself. I always thought I wanted to be an Auror like my Uncle, but lately I'm not too sure, there are other fields that interest me deeply. Maybe teaching at Hogwarts is more up my alley.

Decisions, decisions.

Anyway, today was a bit hectic, with Uncle Thomas and my Dad taking me to Hermione's for our weekend together. Uncle Thomas was a bit wary of leaving me anywhere outside Grimmauld out of fear of the Death Eaters. He mentioned something about one Death Eater in particular, somebody named Cain, who has a history with my parents.

After everything that happened that one night, I can't say that I blame him. I'm still trying to come to terms with it myself. Along with what happened to me in the graveyard, my Mum and everything else.

But you know what, if anything were to happen I'll be prepared.

After messing with my hair for what seemed about the twentieth time, Dad walked into my bedroom with a smirk on his face.

"Y/N, you're acting like you're about to meet the Queen herself." Dad snickered, ruffling my hair. "Relax, Hermione won't care how you look, she likes you."

"Well, it helps if you look presentable in any given situation." I replied. "Where's Uncle at?"

"Waiting downstairs," Dad replied. "you know how protective he's been since that night."

"Best not keep him waiting then." I replied, grabbing my knapsack and leaning over my bed, where Gracie was sleeping soundly.

"I'll be back in a day, Gracie." I said softly, stroking her soft fur. "Be good for everyone, okay?"

Gracie purred loudly, rubbing her head against my hand before curling up once more.

After saying goodbye to everyone, we took our leave out to the street. Uncle Thomas gave me a reassuring touch on my shoulder as we began to apparate.

"Don't worry about it, Hermione is a lovely girl and she's lucky to have you." He said. "I remember my first date, and your Dad's when he met Emily."

"I think you should stop talking right now." Steven joked. "I wasn't even that bad."

"You had Mum iron your shirt five times."

Dad and Uncle Thomas had known about my feelings for Hermione since the beginning, and they were both supportive thankfully. I know Mum would really like her too if she was still alive today.

I can't imagine what I would do without them.

As we apparated, the familiar feeling of being squeezed through a rubber tube washed over me, and soon, we found ourselves outside Hermione's house. I looked around, and there she was, standing by the gate, waiting for us.

"Hermione!" I called out as I rushed to her side. She greeted me with a radiant smile, and I couldn't help but feel my heart skip a beat. I always loved that smile.

Before I could say anything, she leaned in and gave me a sweet kiss on the cheek, making my face turn a shade of crimson.

"I'm so glad you're here," she said, her eyes sparkling with joy.

"The pleasure's all mine," I replied, trying to play it cool, even though my heart was still doing somersaults. "Anything for you, Mione."

"Such a charmer." Hermione smirked, grabbing my hand.

We all went inside, and I greeted Hermione's parents, Wendall and Monica. They had known me since I first met Hermione at Hogwarts, and they welcomed me warmly. Wendall, being the protective father he was, teased me about treating his daughter well, which made Hermione roll her eyes in annoyance.

"Dad, come on, give him a break," she said, playfully hitting her father's arm.

"He's a good lad, Hermione. I'm just looking out for you," Wendall said, winking at me.

After dropping my things in the guest room where I would be staying for the weekend as well as greeting Crookshanks, Hermione and I gathered our belongings, and we were off to the carnival. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement, and I couldn't contain my wonder as we walked through the vibrant colors and cheerful sounds.

It was an incredible sight, filled with lights, colors, and the sounds of laughter and excitement. I had never seen anything like it before, and I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed in the best possible way.

As we went on various rides and attractions, I found myself experiencing things I had never seen before. Some of the rides had me screaming like a frightened child, and Hermione couldn't resist teasing me about it.

"Y/N, I've never heard anyone scream like that before," she giggled.

"Oh, come on, I was just having some fun," I replied, trying to play it off as if it was all part of the plan. "Besides, I'm a Chaser, I fly higher than this for matches all the time."

"Sure, sure," she chuckled, giving me a knowing look.

Later, we passed by a carnival game, and I couldn't resist the opportunity to impress my girlfriend.

Unfortunately, the game seemed to be a bit trickier than normal. It was a simple ring toss game and I swear I could see the pegs moving slightly.

I looked over to the operator, who had a smug look on his face and it hit me, the guy was blankly cheating so we couldn't hit anything. A typical con man.

"Babe, let's just go." Hermione said while grabbing my arm. "It isn't worth it."

"Don't listen to your woman, mate." The man said smugly. "Give it another shot, maybe you'll actually hit one this time."

Okay this guy is really starting to make me mad.

I stepped back up to the booth, asking the man to give me another few rings. I really wanted to shut this guy up, especially after he mentioned Hermione.

Not to worry though, because I have an idea. It's probably not very smart but it'll get the look off that guys face in no time.

I changed a spell under my breathe, one that would allow me to get a ring on one of the pegs without much effort.

I threw a ring, which landed on three different pegs before settling down. The man's face clearly changed as he saw me succeed.

"Wha-but y-you." He stuttered, clearly not knowing what to say.

"I would like that giant stuffed otter please." I said smugly, pointing to a large otter above my head.

The game manager gave it to me reluctantly, muttering something under his breathe as I gave Hermione her prize.

Hermione squealed as she hugged the otter tightly, however she must have realized I used magic to win her prize.

"Y/N, did you use magic to win this?" she asked, looking concerned.

"Uh, well, maybe just a little," I admitted, feeling guilty about breaking the underage magic rule.

"Y/N, you can't just do that! It's against the rules," she said, crossing her arms. "What if someone had caught you? You could be expelled!"

"Don't worry, babe. It's not like anyone noticed," I reassured her, hoping she would let it slide.

"Still, that's not the point," she replied, though she couldn't hide a small smile.

"Come on, everything will be fine." I reassured her, putting my hands on her waist. "Besides, I think that adorable otter would have been very sad if it didn't go to you."

Hermione's expression softened. "Alright but be careful, I can't imagine what would happen if you got caught doing it again."

"Don't worry babe," I said, pulling her into an embrace. "won't happen again."

Hermione melted into the embrace, kissing me softly. "You're so sweet, you know that?"

"It comes with many of my amazing qualities." I smirked, resulting in a playful punch in the arm.

Towards the end of the day, as the sun was setting, we found ourselves on top of the ferris wheel, the sun setting behind us, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink.

I turned towards Hermione, who looked beautiful in the highlights of the colored sky. I couldn't resist, pulling her towards me.

"I love you, Mione." I said, causing her to smile brightly.

"I love you too, Y/N." Hermione replied. "Im so happy I got to see you."

As we shared a kiss, the ride suddenly froze and broke down. I looked at Hermione with a playful grin.

"Guess I take it back. I think I prefer the ground," I joked.

Hermione burst into laughter, wrapping her arms around me. "Oh, you and your jokes!"

As the ride was fixed and we made our way back to Hermione's house, I felt a sense of contentment wash over me. Spending the day with her at the carnival was even better than I had imagined.

When we finally returned to Hermione's house, her parents were waiting for us. Holding hands with Hermione, I told them that the day was amazing. Wendall couldn't resist teasing me again, suggesting I sleep in the guest bedroom instead of with their daughter.

Monica scolded her husband gently, but I replied, "I know, Mr. Granger. I respect your house and your daughter."

The night was filled with laughter and whispered conversations, and as we lay in bed, side by side, I couldn't help but feel a sense of completeness. Hermione nestled closer to me, and I wrapped my arm around her, holding her close.

"Today was perfect," she whispered.

"It really was," I replied, planting a soft kiss on her forehead. "I'm so grateful for you, Hermione."

"Me too, Y/N. I love you so much," she said, her voice filled with affection.

"I love you too, Mione." I replied. "You are the best thing that ever happened to me."

With those words, we kissed. parting ways reluctantly to our sleeping quarters. My first muggle date with Hermione at the carnival in London was amazing experience. I couldn't wait for this upcoming school year with her.

Hopefully we can actually have a normal school year. That's wishful thinking however.

Before I went to sleep, I scavenged through my bag, pulling out my crystal ball. I had begun looking though it for the last few weeks. I had now begun to accept that it could predict any future events that would come up.

Hell, it predicted what happened that one night in the graveyard with Cedric and the Death Eaters, as well as Voldemort's return. It would be smart to know what happens so I can keep my guard up.

I put my hand on the crystal ball, closing my eyes softly as visions began to sprawl through my mind. One vision in particular confused me the most.

All of us, Harry, myself, Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Neville, Luna Lovegood, and Heather together in a dark chamber surrounded by hallways scattered with glowing orbs. It was cryptic and mysterious, with nothing but darkness surrounding us. It felt almost like a nightmare of sorts.

As I turned my head slightly, I found one orb in particular that gathered my interest, as I reached to grab it however, I was brought back to the guest bedroom in the Granger's house.

I'm probably not going to get much else from that for the rest of the night am I?

I sighed, placing the glowing orb back inside of the bag gently, before pulling my covers up to my chin.

Hermione's POV

I woke up to the enticing smell of breakfast wafting into my room. My parents must be cooking downstairs. But what made this morning even better was the knowledge that Y/N was here too.

Today we would be going back to 12 Grimmauld Place via train, where we would be for the rest of the summer before going to back to Hogwarts for our fifth year. The thought brought a smile to my face, and I quickly got out of bed and dressed before heading out to join everyone.

As I stepped into the hallway, I saw Y/N in the midst of a lively conversation with my parents. His eyes lit up with excitement as they discussed the upcoming school year at Hogwarts. He was hoping to be chosen as a prefect, and the possibility of becoming the Quidditch captain seemed to be a distant but enticing dream.

It would be amazing to be a Prefect with my boyfriend. Keeping all the Gryffindor's in line while having moments to ourselves with the nightly walks. I can only imagine the things that would happen.

"Hey, Mione," Y/N said, turning to me with a smile. I couldn't resist; I leaned in and kissed him on the cheek before taking a seat at the dining table.

"Good morning," I replied, my heart fluttering with happiness as I settled in beside him. "Did you sleep well?"

"Like a baby," he chuckled. "Your guest room is really comfortable."

My parents exchanged amused glances at Y/N's comment, and I rolled my eyes playfully. "I'm glad you liked it," I said, joining the conversation.

"I can see us keeping the Gryffindors in line and being fair, but also having a bit of fun," Y/N said, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm.

I nodded in agreement. "I think so too. It would be wonderful to have the opportunity to help our fellow Gryffindors."

Mum chimed in, "That sounds like a great responsibility for both of you. I'm sure you'll do wonderfully if you get selected."

Y/N blushed at the praise, looking genuinely grateful for the encouragement. He then turned the conversation towards Quidditch, explaining the sport to my mom. Mum listened closely, she seemed very interested in the sport.

"It sounds like such a thrilling game," she said. "I'd love to watch a match someday."

"I wish you could see one at Hogwarts," Y/N suggested, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "It's an experience like no other."

Meanwhile, Dad engaged Y/N in a discussion about Arsenal's season on the pitch. Y/N seemed thrilled to share his passion for football with my dad, and I couldn't help but smile at their camaraderie.

"You see, Wendall, they've got a talented roster this year, and with the right strategy, they could have a great season," Y/N said, clearly excited about sharing his insights.

Dad nodded in agreement, and I smiled, happy to see the two of them bonding over sports, just like I had bonded with Y/N over our shared love for magic and books.

As breakfast continued, Y/N surprised us by expressing interest in our careers as dentists. "It sounds really fascinating, you know, helping people with their dental health and all," he said.

"We do our best," Mum replied warmly. "It's a rewarding profession."

After a satisfying breakfast and more conversation, it was time to pack up. Y/N and I were heading to Grimmauld Place to spend the rest of the summer with our friends and the rest of the Order of the Phoenix, and my parents kindly offered to drive us to the station on their way to work.

As we loaded our things into the car, I couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth. Having Y/N by my side made everything feel right, and knowing that my parents supported our relationship was comforting beyond words.

"Thank you so much for having me," Y/N said sincerely as we stood by the car.

"It's always a pleasure, Y/N," Monica replied with a warm smile. "You're welcome to visit any time you want."

Y/N smiled gratefully and nodded. "Thank you. I'll be sure to take you up on that offer."

Once at the station, we made our way to the train platform. Once we were ready to leave, my Dad shook Y/N's hand and said, "Take care of my daughter, Y/N. I know she's in good hands with you."

Y/N looked at my dad sincerely, "You can count on me, sir. I'll always protect Hermione."

As we bid farewell to my parents, Y/N hugged me tightly, and I knew that we were about to embark on yet another adventure together.

It always seems to be an adventure when we are at Hogwarts.

Y/N's POV

A couple of hours on a train later, we arrived at Grimmauld Place. We needed to make sure that no Muggles were present before we could go inside Headquarters.

After making sure the coast was clear, I said what I had been forced to memorize ever since the summer had started.

"The Headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix may be found at Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place, London."

And just like that, a battered door between eleven and thirteen appeared out of nowhere, followed by dirty windows and walls.

I can see what we will have to clean next. Wonderful.

I glanced towards Hermione, who stared at the magic unfolding with amazement.

"Pretty cool, right?" I smirked.

Hermione smiled back, squeezing my hand tightly.

I led her inside, where we were greeted by just about every Weasley imaginable, all coming from different sides of the house.

"Y/N! Hermione!"

"Hey all!" I greeted. "We're back!"

Ginny and Heather both hugged Hermione tightly, as Fred, George, and my Dad greeted me.

"Mate, we didn't know when you were going to come back." Fred said. "It's been such a bore having to deal with Ron all by ourselves."

"Hey!" Ron said in offense. "You know I can hear you!"

"Only a joke mate."

"Oh it's so lovely to see you both!" Molly exclaimed, jumping up and down with excitement.

Heather and Ginny practically dragged Hermione away from me, intending on catching her up on the events of the summer.

Just as I was about to join the adults in the kitchen, Ron gestured for me to join him in his room.

Closing the door quietly, I raised my eyebrow in confusion, as Ron pulled a sheet of paper out of his desk.

"What's going on mate?" I asked. "What's this?"

"Got this note from Harry last night." Ron replied. "It's something you need to see."

I took the note from Ron's hands, reading it carefully as we sat down.

Dear Hermione, Ron, and Y/N,

I hope this letter finds all of you well. It's been quite some time since we last spoke, and I can't help but feel a bit confused about the silence. I understand that everyone must be busy with their own summer plans, but I can't shake this nagging feeling that something might be wrong.

As for my summer, well, it hasn't been the best. I've been stuck at the Dursleys' house, and it's been... tough. They've been neglecting me, as usual, and Dudley and his gang have been relentless with their bullying. It's been even worse this year; they seem to have taken a particular interest in making my life miserable.

One day, Dudley gave me a black eye and then lied to his parents, saying that I started the fight. Of course, my uncle believed him and didn't hesitate to punish me. It feels like I'm trapped in a never-ending cycle of abuse and mistreatment.

I try my best to stay out of their way and avoid confrontation, but it seems like nothing I do can appease them. There are times when I feel so isolated and alone, and I miss all of you terribly. Not having you around has made this summer even more difficult.

The nightmares about Voldemort's return haven't helped either. I feel like I'm in the dark about everything, and it's frustrating not knowing what's going on. I thought Dumbledore would keep me in the loop, but it seems like he's keeping things from me for some reason. Y/N, I don't know if he is doing the same to you, especially after what happened that night.

I'll try to be strong and endure these last few weeks at the Dursleys' until I can return to Hogwarts. Being back at school, with all of you by my side, is what keeps me going. I'm looking forward to seeing you all again.

Please, take care, and let me know how you're doing whenever you can find the time. It would mean the world to me.

Your friend,

Harry

My hands trembled with anger as I read the last paragraph, I crunched the paper up as I looked at Ron. I had never liked the Dursleys, but the fact that my best friend and someone like a brother to me was dealing with this and not having any support crossed a line.

"Ron, I don't care what the hell Dumbledore says," I began. "We need to do something about this."

If it means having to teach that fat little prick Dudley and his parents a lesson, than so be it.

A/N: We back, life has been a bitch but imma try and update as often as I can.
