First Away Game of the Season

I sighed to myself as I dropped my backpack next to my band cubby. I was staying after school on a Friday, because I really didn't see the point of leaving school and then coming back about an hour or so later for Tardy Time, so we could get on a bus to be the pep band for the away games. Dawn, May, and Serena were apart of the Color Guard and they were one of my only friends within the marching band, and the three of them stay with me after school too.

The three of them did the same thing and we left with a couple other nameless people (since they're unnamed minor characters in the story) to the seven eleven down the street. We normally did this. After school at about four o'clock, we would walk down to the seven eleven and collect some snacks for the next hour, and then, we would go down to the school and chat for a good long hour or so.

But there was one thing that everyone was talking about: the rogue Onix that was in the next town. Unfortunately, our away game was that high school in the next town. Our director had yet to tell us about whether or not we would be going there. And at the moment, we would be going to the game.

"So, did you guys hear about the rogue Onix that's terrorizing the next town over?" asked Serena with her Braixen following close behind her.

May nodded. "Yeah. I sure hope they can calm it down and find out what's on the poor pokemon's mind." Her Blaziken was following behind her also in its brillant glory.

"I worry about the people there." Dawn sighed, her Piplup in her arms.

From then on, the conversation was all about the Onix. That poor, poor pokemon. That was all anyone had been talking about at school today. Uncle Augustine was worried about the poor thing along with Brock. I understand both of them. Uncle being a pokemon professor and Brock having an Onix of his own. The talk drifted, always that topic, from school to the bus to the bleachers of the game.

And when we weren't playing, that was all I could hear of them. Flareon looked up at me as my saxophone hung loosely in my lap. I looked down at her as she turned and pointed at the score board. I turned towards where she was pointing to see... what is that idiot doing? Ash Ketchum was on the scoreboard chasing after Pikachu. Why was Pikachu up there in the first place? I don't really understand why, but it was there.

And then the rumbling started. Like an earthquake was coming, but this wasn't an earthquake. No this was something different. And then what should appear but the Rogue Onix. It barrelled through the score board, sending both Ash and Pikachu down to the ground. I rushed to the front of the bleachers along with May, Dawn, and Serena. Luckily, Clemont's Chespin was there to catch the pair of them.

The stands were filled with chaos much was the football field. Us band students were told to get to the buses as fast as we could, but I couldn't do that. i couldn't move as I watched the poor thing in complete and utter anguish as it destroyed the entire stadium. Something tells me that it is sad. This Onix is sad. And I have to save it. But how?

"PIKA!" Pikachu waved at me from on top of Ash's head.

"Flare Flareon." Flareon said as I saw her look at me with a look.

I need to do something about this. I had to. Pikachu started to run towards me before some debris started to fall onto the field. Where Pikachu was. I shouted out to him as did Ash and I started to walk, no run towards the mouse pokemon. I caught him as the debris almost fell on top of me before Dragon Pulse was used to knock the debris away.

"Garchomp?" I looked up to see Garchomp standing over me with the the Onix staring intently at me.

I let out a scream and cowered more underneath my uncle's pokemon. Ah! Please don't hurt me. Please don't hurt me! Wait, Pikachu! Pikachu had wiggled out from my arms and ran up towards the Onix. The two -no three pokemon seemed to have a conversation with the three of them. Then, Pikachu ran up towards me and started to do a dance at me. And me being me (who had known Pikachu since I was ten and had a pretty close bond with it, but nothing like his bond with Ash).

"The Onix is grieving because his trainer just died and all of his other friends had been given to his master's other relatives while this Onix had been rejected by the rest of the family." I translated.

Pikachu and Garchomp nodded at me and Onix looked down at me with a saddened expression. I got up from my spot on the ground and stood up and held my hand out to him. The Onix looked down at me and nuzzled its rocky temple to my hand. But then Officer Jenny and Officer Jenny and several other Officer Jennies had to come over and spook the Onix to see it running away. But I knew... somewhere inside of me, that the pokemon would be back.

"Miss, are you alright? Do you need medical attention?" asked Officer Jenny. Man, it sure is hard to keep track of which one of them are which one of them.

I shook my head at her. "No, I'm fine. I just want to go home."

"Gar Garchomp." Garchomp said from beside me as Pikachu scurried uo my body to sit on my shoulder. I think the both of them agree with me.

Ash ran up to me and captured my form in a hug. I stood there, tensing up into an awkward state. Ash let go of me as Pikachu jumped over to his shoulder. I just want to go home now. Officer Jenny and Ash made eye contact and nodded at the two of them.

"Gar." Garchomp said before gesturing to where my uncle and his two assistants were at.

I nodded at him and the pokemon walked over to the three of them. Ash and I walked to his jeep and the pair of us hopped in. And then, I remembered. I completely forgot about my saxophone. What the fuck? My phone beeped to see a picture from Serena. I have your Saxophone, [Y/N]. Thank the mighty stars! I sighed as Ash drove me home.

"You want to do our movie night? I have A New Hope that can be ready to watch. And I'm pretty sure my mom has Nutter Butters and Nilla Wafers on hand." Ash told me.

"I was going to do Napoleons, Nachos, and Nestle Hot Chocolate." I mumbled.

Ash smiled at me. My response had given him my answer. And then next Saturday... I pick the movie, he picks the treats. Both shall start with the letter O. I climbed out of the Jeep with Flareon behind me and walked into the Ketchum residence, sending my mom a text so she knows where I'm at. Ash got the nutter butters and nilla wafers (and luckily he had some chips, salso, and cheese for the nachos and nestle hot chocolate, so it was okay).

Ash handed me the blanket the pair of us used and started a New Hope as his mom finished with our hot chocolates. Huh. This evening was a long and rocky adventure.
