Mahidevran sultan was standing by the balcony of her son , giving her a view onto his bedroom where Stella was laying down still battling with the disease .

She was standing next to Mustafa who was visibly moved and sad by the sickness of his wife , he didn't leave her side for the past days but on the worst note the doctors were still saying the same thing .

That she wouldn't make it and that they had to keep praying for her to come back to life .

" She's still young , i don't know what caused this" Mahidevran sultan was also upset , she wanted her daughter in law to get better because it would cheer Mustafa up .

" I feel so powerless .. i feel like my hands are tied and i can't do anything" Mustafa said in a spiteful tone expressing his desperation and helplessness.

" She will get better son , no one could've predicted this and the best thing we could do for her now is pray" After all his mother was right because letting anger take over him wasn't going to get him anywhere .

He pinched the bridge of his nose and walked closer towards the railing as the view of the whole city was visible to him .

Mahidevran sultan couldn't help but feel sorry for her son , she stepped forward behind him and put her hand on his shoulder giving him a little pat

" Your highness , sultana" one of the doctors came towards making them both turn around at the same time .

" What is it ?" Mahidevran sultan asked and the doctor looked at Mustafa first " Your highness , the sultana's health is declining and i just want you to get read for all scenarios" Mustafa walked towards her in a hurry trying to process what he just heard .

" What do you mean by this ? didn't i tell you that you would cure her or i'll have your heads" he yelled at the woman making her step back a bit while his mother stepped in between them to interfere .

" You can't just say she can't be cured" Mahidevran sultan took the initiative to speak with the doctor while Mustafa walked away trying to think or worse having a breakdown .

" We can take her highness but far from the capital , where she can get a bath in a cave . it is famous for curing people but i don't know if it is going to work"Mahidevran sultan listened attentively to what the doctor was saying and immediately agreed " How far?" she asked trying to get more informations when she got interrupted by her son .

" We will take her even if it's in the other corner of the world" he said determined to take her anywhere " It's in Edirne your highness , i hope our sultana can endure the road and keep resisting until we arrive" the doctor said making him more furious because she sounded defeated .

He left her there and went inside the room where he can only see his wife sleeping behind the huge white transparent curtain , he couldn't get any closer to her or hold her to reassure her that everything is gonna be fine and that she will get better . He put his hand and clenched a part of the curtain on his fist feeling helpless , he wanted to open it so bad but he stopped himself .

" Mustafa" he heard her mumble in her sleep but stopped himself from opening the curtain , she slowly opened her eyes and looked around her not moving an inch " Stella can you hear me ?" he asked trying to get her attention . She shited her eyes to look at him , she smiled and tried to reach for him but realised the curtain that seperated them .

" I will find a cure for you , don't worry" he tried to reassure when she herself didn't know what was wrong with her in the first place , she looked around the room and saw doctors with masks on surrounding her , that is when she understood the gravity of her situation .

" Am i going to die ?" she said finally grasping the reality she was in , she knew how serious this was . Mustafa immediately shook his head to not make her feel bad but she knew that her situation was fatal . She took a look at the scars on her body and the bandages around her and the fever that was eating her from inside .

Mustafa noticed how much in pain she was and couldn't help but feel his heart break into pieces , he wanted to take his life and give it to her but it was impossible .

" We will take you to Edirne to undergo a treatment but i will be with you" She closed her eyes and swallowed trying to ease the dryness in her throat .

" No Mustafa , don't go" she managed to say , she wanted him to stay here for his duty and not follow her . "You can't" she tried to speak more but it suffocated her to even take a breath in .

" Promise me , you will stay here" she said opening her eyes  slightly  , he looked at her but couldn't answer because he didn't want to leave her alone , he wanted to be there for her .

" I can't leave you alone , i want to be with you" he said determined as if nothing was going to change his mind , little did he know he had a weak spot for her and wouldn't say no .

" Please , i don't ask you for anything" she said in a begging tone , she knew she didn't have time left before she'd pass out again due to her exhaustion so she wanted to guarantee at least that he would stay here .

" I promise" after thinking for some time , he finally said but he wasn't convinced at all . He just said it to not upset her while she was in such vulnerable condition

She closed her eyes finally and surrendered to her sickness once again , while he went to the doctors and asked them to prepare her so she can leave .

"Mustafa , you're not going are you ?" his mother asked as she dragged him to the balcony so they can get Stella out .

" You can't go , or else it means you're going to rebel against your father. He left this empire for you to take care of it here , in the city not away" She explained to her son the seriousness of the situation  .

"Even Stella asked me to stay but i can't .. i can't send her away alone . She needs me" He said as if his life depended on whether he goes or not .

" I will go with her , you can rest easy and inshallah she will return healthier than she was before" He. hugged his mother , he knew that now he could finally sit in peace .

He knew his mother would not let anyone hurt her , he had entrusted her to his mother and he knew it was the best for everyone .

" Take care of her really well, she is my most precious and you know that" His mother gave him a smile and patted his shoulder while nodding .

He saw the doctors carrying her away , ready to take her to Edirne . he wished she would comeback on her feet all healthy , he didn't believe that the doctors had the last say in this .

He had faith in god and he knew he would bring him his wife back . He watched the aghas take off the curtains and watched the empty bed where his wife was battling death in .

When suddenly Ali pasha came in to consult Mustafa in some matters , he knew that state matter couldn't wait .

" Your highness , i brought you some documents you have to seal" Ali pasha entered and put some papers on mustafa's desk who was obviously deranged.

" May our sultana heal soon" Ali pasha wished recovery for the unfortunate sultana before he left Mustafa in his own darkness .

He knew that she didn't catch this sickness from someone at first but when her favorite servant Fahriye died yesterday , he started to be convinced that this was targeted . Someone purposely did this so she catches this deadly disease , he had to investigate in this matter .

" Lokman agha" he called without thinking twice , Lokman entered the room upon the call and waited for orders .

"I will give you a very important duty that no one has to know about , not even hurrem sultan" Lokman agha tilted his head and nodded curious about what the prince was about to ask .

" You will go to Amasya , and you will investigate immediately if someone caught this disease . Check the records , ask everyone and examine everyone to see if the sultana caught the disease there" He stood up and explained in detail to Lokman agha .

" And if i find out you told someone this , trust me i wouldn't hesitate and fire you" Lokman agha looked at the prince frightened and bowed down to him .

" As you wish your highness , I will leave immediately" He bowed down to the prince " You can leave" Mustafa pointed at the door as he went to his desk hoping that he would focus again on the work under his eyes .

Hurrem sultan meanwhile was in her room sitting with her daughter Mihrimah , chatting like usual until Mahidevran sultan came to visit them .

" Hurrem" She raised her voice and entered the room without further notice making hurrem sultan turn around in surprise .

" What is this audacity Mahidevran ? How can you come in without any permission" Hurrem sultan was enraged when she saw Mahidevran followed by sumbul who tried to stop her .

" You can trick everyone but not me , do you think i don't know that you're the one who made Stella like this ?" She accused not a single hint of doubt in her voice .

« You blame me for everything anyways , if you trip on a rock you would accuse me » Hurrem sultan answered unbothered .

«  I swear if something happens to that poor girl , nothing will stop Mustafa anymore . Not you or his majesty » Mihrimah stood up annoyed by this one sided fight.

« Mahidevran sultan , Enough ! What is this way of talking ? you're not talking to a concubine » she came into her mother's défense knowing full well that she wasn't innocent and had a hand in this .

« You're becoming like her , it's a pity » Mahidevran sultan said disappointed in Mihrimah's behaviour . She felt like she was dealing with two Hurrems at once .

« Don't say i didn't warn you Hurrem » She said finally stepping back and leaving her room , that's when Mihrimah turned to look at her mother .

« Mother do you a have a hand in this ? » She asked her mother unsure , she didn't know how much innocence in her mother was left so she couldn't tell .

« Mihrimah .. go back to your room » was the only thing she could answer her daughter , upon hearing this she took her leave leaving her mother in her chambers .

Two days time-skip
After two days of the road , Mahidevran had finally arrived to Edirne . She was accompanied with few servants and her daughter in law that was with the doctors in a separate carriage .

Fresh air hit her face when she stepped out of the carriage , a lot of servants welcomed her inside but she didn't want to waste no time .

«  Bring in our stuff , we're going to head out to the cave now » She said ordering some aghas standing by the entrance .

«  Sultana the sooner we can get our sultana the better » one of the doctors notified Mahidevran sultan who agreed .

Without taking a rest she followed them on a separate carriage , as soon as they arrived . They covered Stella in a white cloth so that she doesn't contaminate anyone and entered the cave , Mahidevran sultan followed them but stood far from her letting the healers do their work .

They started to take off her dress pulling it down slowly as they gradually put her in the water that was burning hot , the doctors were surrounding her waiting for their long awaited result .
