" Ayse hatun gave birth to a healthy baby girl" Fahriye came in my room to tell me about this , i was happy for him but something was not right .

"She must be spiralling , now she can't call herself a sultana or claim that she will be the next baş haseki » fahriye seemed really troubled as if ayse was giving everyone a hard time , i didn't even understand what baş haseki meant .

« Is it mandatory to give birth to a boy ? why aren't girls very welcomed . for example i can rule my country but here isn't it the same ? » i asked her out of curiosity.

« Yes it has to be a son , because you secure your future and everything . if you give birth to a son you will be so much more powerful , girls cannot rule here it's different princess » i was shocked by what she said , i didn't even know that it was different from us .

« What happens if a woman cannot birth a son » i was genuinely curious about how everything worked « she will be forever forgotten and most likely to end up in the old palace until she dies »

« But everyone got used to this here and it's very common » she continued as i tried to understand more and more what she said .

I was getting to know customs here every now and then and i was happy to do so , right as we finished talking my door opened to reveal a girl with a plate of sweets in her hands .

« Princess , this is in honor of the birth of Melek sultan » she handed us the plate and fahriye put in on the table next to me .

the girl left and i glanced at the plate , i reached out to eat one sweet . one thing i loved here was the food , it was always so good and different .

« Do you think i should pay her visit ? well she doesn't really like me but thought i'd do it just out of respect » fahriye looked at me as she chewed on the sweet delight.

« Princess i think it's better if you don't , now she must be furious and i suggest you speak directly to şehzade mustafa » She was right , i would rather do that than go see ayse .

I forgot , the letter where was it ?

« Fahriye reach for the letter i brought with me » she looked at me confused « But princess you haven't brought any letter with you » Is it possible i forgot to bring it with me ?

« Fahriye go search for it , if someone comes across it . it will get me in trouble » fahriye looked at me for some time before realising what i told her .

I was just scared if someone gets the letter and they misunderstand it . i didn't know but fear washed all over me , who would even care to take my letter .

I try to shut my thoughts down and wait until fahriye got back but when she finally got back, there was nothing on her hands .

« Where is the letter ? » i asked her immediately as i stood infront of her , she shook her head and showed me her empty hands .

« Princess i searched everywhere in the gardens and no one saw anything . is there something very personal ? » she asked as i was already starting to stress again .

« Yes there is it » i put my hand on my forehead and looked up at the ceiling , i was done for i had to know who took it .

« your mission is to find it , i don't have the faintest idea of who could've possibly done it but i need you to find it at all cost » she could definitely read from my panic that i was serious about this .

Ayse hatun's maid approached her with a letter on her hands , ayse eyed her down not ready to hear any of the news she was bringing .

« Ayse hatun i brought you something you would really love to see » the concubine put the letter down as ayse raised her eyebrow trying to guess what it could possibly be .

« Who does it belong to ? » she opened the letter carefully as she noticed a language she couldn't understand , she sighed in annoyance .

« Why are you wasting my time ? if it's not important don't bother me » Ayse gave the concubine the letter back as she reached for her daughter that was crying .

« I can read it and i found it in the gardens . that princess was with his highness sehzade mustafa and she had this letter with her and i stole it but no one saw me » she later on explained to ayse who was now understanding more and better .

« where you able to read it ? » she asked the concubine who nodded with a smile on her face .

The girl started reading everything to Ayse hatun and her smile grew wider as she knew she caught something very serious. she now could finally get rid of the princess

« So this ungrateful woman is trying to escape from here with her lover" she said as the concubine finished reading the letter .

"This letter should get to mustafa now , this woman has to leave and go back where she came from" ayse was determined to get the princess in trouble and she was not going to stop until she make her regret .

I was trying to distract my thoughts and feelings from this whole situation , i didn't want to be taken as a traitor and an ungrateful person. even if they get ahold of the letter , explaining myself would be embarrassing.

I hated Alonso so much , he put me in trouble for a stupid letter and i would never go with him even if he came all the way here .

I didn't know what to do , i think i should go and say this to mustafa before that letter reaches him and he gets me wrong . or even worse if it gets to his majesty

I have decided to see mustafa maybe he will help me , and at the same time i will explain myself before he gets the letter between his hands . Fahriye have already left my chambers to investigate on the matter so i had to search for mustafa alone

I asked some guards in the harem and they all didn't know so i just started wandering around , i got out of the harem and searched until i saw him get out of a room .

"Prince mustafa" i called and he turned around confused , i just realised he was with his brother Mehmed . it was too weird to talk with him while his brother was there too .

"Princess what are you doing here" he asked and there i was staring back not knowing what to say " Uh I was searching for you" he noticed my expressions and knew i had something to say .

Mehmed looked at me and just left after saying goodbye , i was left alone with mustafa and i didn't know how to start the conversation .

" I don't know how to word this but I have something to tell you" i I looked around trying to escape his gaze .

Meanwhile, he looked at me very confused waiting for me to say something because based of my expressions he knew I was not feeling comfortable that was definitely there

"You know that I received a letter earlier in the morning when we talked in the garden and you  asked me what was it but I didn't want to answer" he just proceeded to look at me waiting for me to complete my sentence .

" Back in my hometown me and Prince Alonso were destined to marry each other in the future but it just never happened and now that he figured out that my country was attacked and that I was in danger he sent me a letter and he threatened to get me back , and he said some really awful words in that letter" i explained further and his expression changed immediately.

"Why didn't you tell me this earlier ? since when did he start sending you letters ?" he asked me seriously as if my answer was going to determine a lot of things .

" since i came here but i promise , i never said anything bad about you I really love it here and I can never dare to complain about my situation. You treat me very well and I would never betray you because you have welcome to me when no other people did."  His expression relaxed a little bit but i could still see concern in his eyes

" someone stole that letter and I don't really know where it is right now and I'm really scared It's going to reach his Majesty and he gets a very bad idea about me" he looked generally concerned but tried to stay calm. He looked at me in the eyes and put his hand on my shoulder as he said .

"You're not going anywhere, let him come and see how we're going to welcome him , it is our duty to protect you from everyone  even yourself . I can't let you go nor let anyone take you away" he said it with such ease and confidence that all my worries brushed off .

He reassured me again and he told me that he would deal with this matter himself and that I shouldn't worry about this matter anymore  .
