FATHER AND SON embraced after the moment of awe. Norman was surprised to see him since he thought there was no Harry in this world, while in his son's case...he was just happy to see him alive again.
"Harry." Norman spoke as he parted, still holding both his shoulders. "Do you understand what's going on here?"
"Yes...we're not from here, and we need to go back to where we came from."
After those words came out of Harry's mouth, he started to wonder if going back meant going back with his father. Would they go together? Or would they be sent back at different times?
Norman interrupted his train of thought by hugging him again. Y/N simply stood there, crossing his arms and smiling at them.
The two walked away and went toward the crypt. Peter also looked at them and spoke to the soldier.
"That is his son?"
Y/N nodded. "Natasha looked up his father after he named him and we found out there is another Norman in this world. With another Harry too."
He nodded at the man's explanation. Y/N rubbed his chin and spoke again.
"That's kinda crazy. Both the older and younger Osborn know you're Spider-Man in the other world. So Norman's the green elf?"
"Yeah. He said his glider broke sometime after the bridge." Peter crossed his arms and looked at Harry, thinking for a bit. "Do you think Harry...?"
Y/N knew what he was going to infer. "Not sure. He is strong but I don't get any villain vibes from him. We don't have to worry about a...Little Elf Junior."
Peter chuckled at his joke. As they were talking, they noticed the two speaking to Doctor Octavius. His voice got louder and boomed in the room.
"You died, Norman. Years ago."
Norman scoffed. "You're insane."
"God..." Max Dillion chimed in from his cell. "I love it here."
"What are you talking about?" Peter called out as he walked toward the crypt. He pointed at Norman. "He's standing right there. He's notβ"
"Dead." Flint Marko interjected from his cell. "They both died. Fighting Spider-Man."
Both villains were confused. Norman glanced at his son, he was quiet but ultimately backed up what Sandman was saying.
"He's right." Harry spoke, looking at Norman. "You...you were killed, father. Taken from me...and I didn't know what to do."
The young man sighed, then looked at Otto. "A couple of years later, Octavius perished too. Drowned in the river as was conducting his experiment."
"That's nonsense!" Octavius exclaimed. "Spider-Man was trying to stop my fusion reactor, so I stopped him. I had him by the throat, and then Iβ"
The man suddenly stopped. He recalled the events back in his world and realized.
"And then I was here."
"Please. Let me tell you something." Electro began. "I was whupping Spider-Man's ass. He'll tell you. And then he caused an overload. I was stuck in the grid, absorbing data. I was about to turn into pure energy, and then..."
Just like Octavius, Max recalled his final moments in his universe. He dropped his expressive hands.
"Oh, shit. I was about to die."
"Max, do you know? Do I die?" Connors asked.
Y/N was taken aback by the large-speaking Lizard. "Oh, shit. That thing can talk?"
Norman looked at Harry again. "Are you sure? Is this all true? I...died?"
His son nodded, starting to tear up from the memories of seeing his dead father in the living room. His body...with Spider-Man looming over him.
Harry groaned as he looked down, which concerned Norman. He balanced him and Norman held him up.
"What'sβwhat's wrong?"
The young man rubbed his face and shook his head. He looked back at his father, not knowing what happened and forgetting about the flashback he had.
"I don't know." He panted. "I'm fine, though. I'm fine."
MJ, Ned, and Y/N had walked into the crypt too during their conversation. Suddenly, Doctor Strange appeared in a flurry of sparks and held a cube.
"Oh, great. You caught another one." Strange said upon seeing the older Osborn.
"No, wait, Strange." Peter called out. "He's not dangerβ"
Strange didn't listen and teleported Norman into one of the cells. Harry tried to grab onto his disappearing father.
"No!" Harry shouted and glared at the sorcerer. He was finally showing that sense of malice Stephen expected. "Give me back my father youβ"
He teleported Harry into another cell as well. His actions caught both Y/N and Peter off guard, with the latter reassuring both Osborns that everything would be fine.
Stephen placed the relic on a podium in front of him. Peter arched a brow.
"What is that?"
"It's an ancient relic. The Macchina di Kadavus. I've trapped your corrupted spell inside, and once I finish the proper ritual, it'll reverse the spell and send these guys back to their universes."
"And then what?" Octavius asked. "We perish?"
Max shook his head. "No. No, thanks. I'll pass on that."
"Let me out of here!" Norman pleaded. "Peter!"
Y/N looked at Stephen. "Strange, you gotta relax here."
"Oh, Captain, I think I'm far from being relaxed...especially with the situation at hand."
Peter chimed in. "We can't send them back. Not yet."
"Why?" Strange asked.
"Well, some of these guys are gonna die."
"Peter. It's their fate."
"Come on, Stephen, have a heart."
"In the grand calculus of the multiverse, their sacrifice means infinitely more than their lives. I'm sorry, kid. If they die, they die."
Y/N wasn't with Strange's plan. He didn't want to send the multiversal beings back to a time when they were going to perish. He thought of Harry and how he'd possibly go back to the world without his father right after reuniting with him. The soldier also feared that maybe he was destined to die too.
"Stephen." Y/N called out. "Let's think of something else first. Let'sβ"
"Y/N." Stephen interjected. "You have to understand that is what has to happen. You experienced firsthand the unpredictability of time...other universes...the repercussions of it such as Maximoff's sacrifice and Thanos's second arrival..."
The super soldier took in a breath upon hearing his words, especially the mention of Pietro. Strange paused for a moment and repeated what he told Tony back on Titan years ago.
"There is no other way."
Strange floated the cube in front of him between his hands. He closed his eyes and was beginning the ritual.
Peter looked at his friends, who glanced back with expressions of not knowing what to do next. The web-slinger turned to the cells, seeing the multiversal men in a panic at being sent back to confront their known fate.
The teenager couldn't let them go back knowing they were going to die. He wouldn't be able to live with himself. He wouldn't let anyone die on his watch again.
Peter shot a web at the cube before Strange could press the button on top of it. The sorcerer looked at the teenager in shock.
"Don't."
He pulled the box into his hand, the inertia causing Strange to spin around. He shot his magic-enhanced web at the sorcerer and teleported him into Sandman's cell.
"Holy crap!" MJ exclaimed.
"What are you doing?" Ned asked.
MJ pulled Peter back. "You got to go. Go!"
Peter nodded and ran out of the undercroft. MJ spread her arms out and blocked the pathway.
Stephen looked through the cell's force field and sighed. He easily went through it and exited the cell.
"This is why I never had kids."
Y/N stood and watched all of it happen. Strange was making his way toward the stairs MJ was blocking and the soldier got in front of him.
"Gotta be honest, I trust the kid more than you right now." He remarked, his tone letting Strange know that he wasn't going to let him through either.
"Now I know who's the smart one in your marriage." Strange replied, quickly conjuring a portal to his right and walking through it.
Y/N sighed as the portal immediately closed. He rested his hands by his waist and recalled what he just said. He looked back at MJ.
"That was pretty harsh."
"I mean...is he right, though?" MJ asked out of curiosity.
Y/N thought for a moment. Natasha did have all the answers most of the time. He nodded in defeat.
"Yeah."
He started walking toward the stairs. Ned questioned where he was going.
"To help Peter." He replied. "Can't have him taking on Strange alone."
"With all due respect, Captain, sir..." Ned said. "How are you going to face a master wizard better than Spider-Man himself?"
Y/N thought for a moment as the guy in the chair had a point. What was he going to do? Throw his shield so Strange could turn it into a pizza?
"Right. Right." Y/N walked back toward the crypt.
"Let's just hope Peter's the one that shows up back here instead of Strange." MJ remarked.
Y/N trusted the young hero. If there was anyone that could possibly outsmart and beat Doctor Strange...it'd be Peter.
"He will." The soldier replied. "I got a feeling."
It was all a waiting game now. The villains stood in the cells as they wondered what their fate would be. Norman leaned against the force field of his cell and looked at Harry nearby.
"Son?" He began. "How....how exactly did I die?"
Harry was looking down in thought. He raised his head and stared back at his father. The memory came back to him and he glared.
"Spider-Man killed you. He took you from me."
Norman processed the information. Ned, Y/N, and MJ overheard their exchange.
"That can't be true." Ned said. "Peter...Peter doesn't kill people."
"Maybe not yours." Harry shot back. "He was always like a brother to me. A son to my father. Then he chooses to kill him instead of helping him. Cure him of what he did to himself."
The young man snarled and punched the wall in the cell, cracking it a bit. Norman noticed this and his expression softened.
"Harry...did you do...what I did?"
He looked back at his father. That question made him finally recall his memory of the chamber where he took in the Goblin Serum gas...and his mission.
"Yes. And with your serum, I was going to avenge you, father. I was going to kill Spider-Man."
The three others took in his confession. MJ looked at Ned and the Y/N, the latter letting out a sigh.
Norman shook his head and stared back at his son. While the younger Osborn looked more malicious now...the elder, original Goblin, seemed more remorseful and hurt to hear his words.
"Harry, that can't be the way." Norman began. "Testing that serum on myself is my biggest mistake. To hear that you took that too...that also makes it my biggest failure."
Harry didn't understand at first. He thought his father would be glad that he was on a mission to avenge his death. That his intent to kill Spider-Man just like he once planned would make him proud.
"But...father..." Harry said. "He killed you. He took you from me."
"And still...I wouldn't want you to live with that hate in your heart." Norman sighed and looked down.
"After your mother died, I thought I tried my best to raise you right but I realize I was wrong. I was barely there. I paid to get you into schools that I thought would do the raising and teaching for me. I saw Peter and thought his example would rub off on you and make things easier. All of that was wrong. And worst of all...I don't think I ever told you enough...that I love you. I love you, Harry. I'm sorry if you ever thought otherwise."
The way Norman Osborn let it all out caught Harry by surprise. Despite him being a father's boy and always obeying his word, he would always be hurt thinking his father didn't love him. To finally hear that made him happy.
"I know, father." Harry finally replied with tears in his eyes. "I know you did."
Hearing their exchange brought a smile to Y/N's face. Now he felt as if Peter needed to return with the cube so they can figure out a way to help the Osborns and in turn also help the others.
There was a moment of silence. Finally, it was broken by Max Dillion.
"Wowza. It was like an episode of Oprah for a moment in here." He looked at the rest. "You guys got Oprah here too, right?"
Moments later, a flurry of sparks appeared and Spider-Man leaped out of the portal. It closed behind him and they realized he had the cube.
"Peter!" MJ exclaimed and ran up to him with Ned.
"What happened?" The other boy asked.
"I just had a fight with Doctor Strange and I totally won!" Peter replied.
"What?"
"Look." Peter held up a sling ring. "I stole his ring thingy."
Ned took the object and looked at it in awe. Peter continued to explain after taking off his mask.
"I was swinging, and then I went through this massive mirror thing, and then I was backβ"
"Where is he?" MJ asked.
"He's trapped. But I'm not sure for how long."
"You beat Doctor Strange?" Y/N finally asked.
"Definitely." Peter replied. "I don't think he realized that the mirror dimension was just geometry."
Y/N chuckled. "Ha! You outsmarted the smartass!"
Peter laughed. Otto called out to them and ended their moment.
"You could have just left us to die. Why didn't you?"
Before he can answer, MJ did for her boyfriend.
"Because that's not who he is."
Peter smiled at her for a moment before walking up to the cells, the cube still in hand.
"I think I can help you guys. If I can fix what happened to you, then when you go back, things will be different, and you might not die fighting Spider-Man."
"What do you mean by fix?" Electro asked.
"Our technology is advancedβ"
"I can help you." Norman interjected. "You know, I'm something of a scientist myself. Octavius knows what I can do."
"Fix? You mean, like a dog? I refuse." Otto said.
"I can't promise you guys anything, but at least this way, you actually get to go home and have a chance. A second chance. Come on, isn't that worth trying?" Peter asked them.
"Trust me, Peter, when you try to fix people, there are always consequences." Connors said.
He turned to the Lizard. "You don't have to come. I also didn't know that you could talk."
Y/N chimed in. "Yeah, that still freaks me out."
Peter continued. "But if you stay here, then you'll have to deal with the wizard."
"Oh, so we go along or die. Not much of a choice, is it?" Connors replied.
"I just wanna go home." Flint said.
"I, myself, don't wanna be killed, especially by a guy dressed like Dungeons & Dragons, so what's your plan?" Max asked.
Peter thought for a moment. "I have it all under control."
He walked back to his friends. He held the box in between them.
"What are we gonna do about this thing?" He asked.
"Well, we need to find somewhere safe for it, right?" MJ replied.
"Yeah." Peter handed it to her. "You gotta take it."
She shook her head. "Wait, what?"
"If something bad happens, I'll text you, and you just push this button, and then it's all over. They'll all be gone."
"We're not gonna leave you."
"You can't come with me, it's too dangerous. You guys have already done enough."
"Dude, we're in this together." Ned said.
"I know, but I can't do this if I know that you're in danger."
Ned sighed and then nodded. Peter nodded back.
"I need you all together and safe." He turned to MJ and showed her the box. "So, please, take this. Please."
After a moment of hesitation, the brunette agreed to take it. "Okay."
"Thank you."
Y/N looked at them and spoke in a whisper. "Give me your phone, Ned."
He was confused at first but handed it to Y/N. He went to his notes app and started to type.
"Go to my place in Jersey. Nat is there and you two could stay there while we work on the others."
He handed it back to Ned. Peter looked at Y/N but the soldier spoke before he can.
"I'm with you through the end of this, Pete. Like I said before."
Peter nodded. MJ held the cube in her hand and went up to him.
"Peter, I swear...if I don't hear from you, I'm pressing this button."
"Sure." He replied.
"Okay." She looked at the others in the cells and shouted. "And I will do it!"
"Yeah, we all believe you, Michelle." Max responded.
Connors shook his head and muttered. "No way that's his girlfriend. No way."
Peter pointed at MJ and spoke to the men as well. "She'll do it."
"Oh, she absolutely will." Y/N added.
Peter did his signature handshake with Ned and a spark emitted from the sling ring he wore. The boy looked on in wonder and left the crypt as well.
MJ kissed Peter before following Ned out of the crypt.
"Be careful, okay?"
"Yeah. You too."
MJ walked with Ned out of the undercroft. The boy held his phone and pasted the address of the soldier's house into his maps app.
"Oh, my God." Ned said in awe. "We're going to Captain America's house! And meeting Black Widow!"
"I got the morbid curiosity of how many people she's killed." MJ remarked.
"Can I be the one to ask her?" Ned asked excitedly.
They walked up the stairs. Back in the crypt, the unmasked Peter stood with Y/N and turned around, looking at the men within the cells.
"So...who's coming with us?"
β’ β’ β’
HAPPY HOGAN'S CONDOMINIUM contained a Stark Industries' fabricator, which was what Peter needed to enact his plan.
May Parker joined her nephew and the super soldier on the mission to fix the multiversal villains and he was proud that Peter changed his mind and decided to help them.
Norman, Harry, Otto, Max, and Flint were in the room with them. Connors decided to stay in the truck outside.
"I feel bad for using Happy's place like this." Peter remarked.
"No, no, no. He'll get over it." May simply replied.
Marko sat down on the sofa and quickly brushed away the excess sand that came out of him. Electro turned on the television with his powers and it showed a news broadcast talking about the newly renovated Statue of Liberty.
"Why the hell is Lady Liberty holding a shield?" Max asked.
Y/N overheard and walked up to the television. "It was a whole thing the city was planning. I was against it but the votes beat my opinion. I liked how they fixed the oxidation though."
Max didn't respond and kept watching. Otto, who had his actuators wrapped around his arms and torso, called out to the young hero.
"So this is your plan, Peter? No lab, no facilities? Just performing miracles in a condominium? What, you gonna cook us some cures and some frozen burritos in a microwave?"
"I could go for a burrito." Norman said as he was fiddling with DUM-E in the dining room.
"He's gonna kill us all." Otto added.
"Well, let's hope not." Peter said and walked toward the storage room. "You're up first, Doc."
"Hey, I told you, I don't need fixing. I don't need fixing! Especially by a teenager using scraps from a bachelor's junk drawer!"
Norman, Max, Harry, and May followed Peter into the room. He pulled away the tarp covering the fabricator.
"What the hell is that?" Harry asked.
"It's a fabricator." Peter replied. "It can analyze, design, construct basically anything."
"I thought that was the tanning bed Happy broke." May said.
Y/N entered the room moments later and saw the machine. He crossed his arms and smirked.
"Ah, I remember this. Tony made my first electric batons with one of these." He remarked.
As the fabricator opened up and activated, an Arc Reactor popped out of a compartment. Max looked at it and his eyes glowed.
"Would you look at that..." He muttered.
The machine kept opening but it went too far and broke through the wall. In the kitchen, Octavius looked back at the wrecked partition.
"He's going to kill us all."
In the kitchen, Harry stood around in silence. His father was in the storage room assisting Peter in making Otto's cure. May was with him and Octavius stood around nearby.
"I heard about your reunion." She spoke to Harry. "I'm glad that by otherworldly coincidence you got to see your father."
Harry nodded and leaned against the counter. "That I'm glad about too. He...I feel like I've never gotten to really be with him despite the eighteen years we spent together. I feel as if...I can make it right now."
May smiled. Harry stood silent for a bit before speaking again.
"In my world, May is...so sweet. A very nice lady. Always treated me the same way she treated Peter. I can tell you're the same way."
She chuckled. "Thank you. It's unfortunate I never got to meet you...well...you from here yet. I bet he's as nice and handsome as you are."
Harry took the compliment and smiled. He excused himself and walked toward the living room, passing by Y/N who was going up to May.
"I see you got to formally meet the young Osborn?" Y/N asked.
"He's as nice as his father. But I can also tell he's pretty...lost as well. Not as much, though."
"He endured the same experiment his dad did. Gave him abilities but also hurt his mind. Don't worry, they'll be cured soon. Peter will."
May nodded. She looked at Y/N and spoke.
"I thank you for helping him through all this. With everything going on and what seems like the world doubting Spider-Man, it's nice that he has someone outside of his immediate friend group."
Y/N smiled. "I consider him family. You too, May. And to be honest...after what we went through after Thanos...I don't want anything to happen to him again."
May understood his thinking as it was what she felt as well. Both of them we hurt when Peter was dusted.
"He appreciates you being there for him...especially with Tony being gone." She said.
"We both miss him. And in a way, we're both keeping each other's head up dealing with his passing."
May looked down at her hands. "It was hard for him at first and I was scared he'd shut people out. But you kept that from happening because he had someone to relate to."
Y/N nodded but was quickly caught by surprise when May hugged him. He reciprocated the embrace.
"Thank you." She added.
He rubbed her back. "Of course."
Flint Marko was looking at a picture he picked up from the table in the living room. It was of Morgan Stark and Nikolai Carter at the cabin. The man immediately thought of his own child.
Y/N walked up to the man and noticed him looking at the photo. He chose to speak.
"I actually took that photo. Came out better than I thought."
Flint looked at him. "Are they yours?"
"Only the boy. The girl is the daughter of the late bachelor Octavius mentioned.
He nodded. Y/N continued.
"But I do have a daughter as well. She's older than him."
"How old?"
"Just turned fifteen."
"Mine is eleven." Flint said with a soft smile. "She...uh...she wasn't even supposed to live that long."
Y/N continued listening to Marko.
"She was very sick a couple of years ago. I was afraid I'd lose her forever. I fell into a life of crime and it ended up making me this. Then just recently, I found out her sickness was gone. It was a miracle."
"I'm glad that was the case." Y/N said.
He nodded. "That's why I want this done as soon as possible. I don't care if I'm cured or not. I just want to get back home to her."
"And you will." He replied.
Suddenly, they heard Peter exclaiming from the storage room.
"It worked...that totally worked!"
He slid into the living room and held the device. Aunt May looked at him and saw her nephew in a frenzy.
"I got it. I did it. Will you send him up?" He told her.
His aunt nodded and tapped the small device on the table that secured Octavius.
"Here we go. Sorry, Doc."
The actuators unwrapped themselves from Otto and lifted him to the second-floor balustrade.
"Oh, will these humiliations never cease?" Otto shouted. He looked back at Peter on the pathway. "You, keep your science-fair project away from me!"
"It'll work. Have faith." Norman Osborn said from below.
"Says the reckless fool who turned himself into a monster."
Norman didn't reply. Harry didn't like how Otto shouted at his father but kept quiet as well.
"Please stop moving your head." Peter said as he tried to place the chip onto the burnt one. "Hold still."
"Don't you dare. I swear, when I get out of this, we're gonna rip you a newβ"
Peter put in the chip. Immediately, Octavius's arms went limp as did his whole body. Peter was startled by the sudden act and froze.
"Doc?"
There was still no movement. Everybody below watched in anticipation if he'd awaken. Parker kept calling out to him.
"Doc? Doctor Octaβ?"
Otto woke up with a gasp. With widened eyes, he looked around the room and panted.
"It's so quiet...those voices inside my head..." He felt like crying after finally feeling a sense of peace. "I'd almost forgotten."
"Otto." Norman called to his friend.
"Yes. Norman." Octavius descended from the second floor using his tentacles. "It's me."
Peter vaulted over the railing and landed on the first floor. He smiled at Otto. Flint crossed his arms and nodded in an impressed manner.
"Would you look at that?" He remarked.
Y/N was also in awe. "You frickin' did it."
Peter tapped the device on the counter and freed the unpaired actuators from it, giving Otto free reign to use them. The man placed one of the arms on Parker's chest, transferring the small number of nanites he'd taken before in their fight at the bridge and giving it back to him.
The nanobots coated his red-and-black suit, forming a golden spider logo on the front and back. It was an act of thanks by the doctor and the arms.
"I'm grateful, dear boy." Otto shook his hand. "Truly."
Peter smiled. Octavius nodded and smiled back.
"How can I help?"
Norman and Otto, both renowned scientists, assisted Peter in developing a cure for each individual that was left. While the teenager was with Y/N and Harry in the dining room, they continued working.
"How does it feel, Norman?" Otto asked him. "You're about to become whole again. No more darker half. Just you."
Norman, still facing the desk he was at, stopped working and replied. "Just me."
He finally turned around and smiled at Otto, who in turn reciprocated the act.
Y/N sat with Harry at the dining table. Peter asked him questions about his experience first taking the serum in case it differed from Norman's.
Peter was told about why he took it and his vendetta against Spider-Man. Peter didn't want to believe that another version of himself murdered Norman but still reassured Harry that he wasn't like that.
He took some more notes and concluded that the same cure he was making for Norman would work on him too. Before Peter can leave, Harry asked him a question.
"After this...you're sending us back?"
Peter glanced at Y/N before answering. "That's the plan as of now."
"Back to the world...where my father is dead?"
Y/N didn't know how to reply. Peter ended up answering.
"Once we get you cured, I don't know...maybe the wizard...if he's not too pissed...can figure out a way to get you what you want. But I'm not so sure."
Harry didn't like that answer. Y/N finally spoke.
"Even if you can't, Harry, you still got to see your father again. And he told you he loved you. Once you go back...you'll still be able to keep that memory with you."
The young man took in his words and nodded, but didn't say a word. Y/N figured he accepted the reasoning. Peter told him to follow him to the storage room so he can help.
Harry watched them leave then looked around the room in silence. He was deep in thought, thinking about how he now had only a short time to be with his father. The man looked down at his hands and clenched his fist.
Y/N helped in any way he can. As he did, Norman and the young man talked as he was curious about his abilities in this world.
"I was born already enhanced. My father was the one injected with the super soldier serum back in World War 2." He explained.
"Fascinating." Norman replied. "So human enhancement is already perfected here?"
"It can be again. Just need to find the right man to do it again." He thought of Erskine and Nagel. "The two who did it once are dead now."
"And your power...how do you use it?"
Y/N sighed. "Like my dad once used it for...to be a hero in today's age. I try to be the symbol he once was."
Norman was perplexed by his answer. "You choose to do that?"
He nodded. "Yes."
The older man nodded after his answer. He didn't say a word as he walked away, leaving Y/N confused at his non-reply.
Outside of the condominium, a few Daily Bugle vans were parked. J. Jonah Jameson arrived and came out of his car to speak with his people.
Jonah opened up his arms. "Well, where is he?"
"He's inside." An employee replied.
"And yet here we are, outside. Did you not hear me say, don't lose him? I want incriminating footage of Spider-Man."
"I know, sir, justβ"
"I called Damage Control. They're on their way."
Nearby, the Lizard was in the F.E.A.S.T truck, looking through a gap at the Daily Bugle workers. Connors smirked.
"And so it begins..."
Back inside, Peter was working on one of the devices. Amidst his tinkering, he heard the familiar ringing between his ears. It gradually became louder and the boy looked up on high alert.
He put down his tools and stood straight up. He moved away from his desk and looked around the room.
Otto noticed his vigilant state. "Peter?"
"What's wrong?" Norman asked as well.
"I don't know."
Parker walked out of the room and entered the living area. He darted his eyes around the space.
"May?" He called out.
Moments later, she came downstairs, incense burning in her hand . "What is it, hun?"
He didn't respond and stood in the middle of the living room. He looked at each man, trying to comprehend what his senses were alerting him about. Amidst the loud ringing...he could hear the faint sound of cackling.
Y/N stepped away from the living room and noticed the teenager in his current state.
"What's up, Peter?" He asked.
"What's happening?" Flint also questioned.
Max stepped closer. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
Norman glanced at Peter and then walked toward DUM-E in the dining room. Harry got up from his seat and wondered what was going on.
Peter closed his eyes and relaxed his rapidly beating heart. He honed in on his spider-sense and the ringing began to subside. With an inhale, he opened his eyes and shot a web in the direction of Norman.
His hand was stuck to the top of DUM-E. Norman looked at it and smirked, turning toward the hero. His face alone showed that it was no longer Norman Osborn in control, but the Green Goblin.
"That's some neat trick..." Goblin said. "...that sense of yours."
"Norman?" Otto called out.
"Norman's on sabbatical, honey."
Max was confused at his sudden change of tone. "The hell?"
"The Goblin." Peter said as he glared.
Harry looked at Norman. "Father?"
The boy glanced at May, who looked back and gave a nod. The lady crept into the storage room as the villain began to speak.
"No more darker half? Did you really think that I'd let that happen? That I'd let you take away my power just because you're blind to what true power can bring you?"
"You don't know me." Peter shot back.
"Don't I?" Goblin grinned. "I saw how she trapped you, fighting her holy moral mission."
May re-entered the room, now holding a bag containing the unfinished cures for each villain. Norman glanced at the woman for a moment before continuing.
"We don't need you to save us. We don't need to be fixed." Goblin looked at Flint, Max, and Harry. "These are not curses. They're gifts."
As he spoke, Y/N slowly walked back and neared the leather container that had his shield. He was close to it just in case.
"Norman, no." Otto spoke.
"Quiet, lapdog." He shot back.
"You don't know what you're talking about." Peter said.
"I've watched you from deep behind Norman's cowardly eyes. Struggling to have everything you want while the world tries to make you choose. Gods don't have to choose...we take."
The Goblin looked in Y/N's direction, grinning menacingly.
"You could take as well. But you are as naive as the boy...thinking anybody cares what good you do with your power. Power that my son has as well."
He looked at Harry next, he was still in shock at his father's sudden transformation. The Goblin spoke to him.
"We are together once again, son. Together we can show those who think they are in power that they are indeed unmatched compared to us. People in power like them, who think they can simply take away what is rightfully ours and separate us."
Harry took in his words. The Goblin's grin disappeared and it became stoic.
"The right to your power of my creation. And the right for us to finally be together again."
Peter stared at the Goblin as he spoke to his son. He knew what would have to go down between him and the villain. He just needed May to get out with the rest of the cures.
"May, run!"
His aunt listened and did as told, knowing the cures were vital and wanting to get them as far away as possible from Osborn.
Max decided to act to his desires as well. He ripped off the device on his chest and shot a bolt of electricity across the room. He pulled the Arc Reactor from the fabricator and through the hole in the wall and into his hand.
Goblin freed himself from the webbing and charged at Peter, punching him across the face and heaving him up into the staircase. He hit the steps and fell on his stomach.
Sandman flew away in a flurry of sand. Otto stood there in shock at what was happening. Y/N saw the Goblin attack his friend and acted.
"Peter!" Y/N exclaimed and bent down to take out his shield.
He brought it out and tossed it at Norman. It hit his shoulder and was knocked down. Y/N was making his way to assist Peter but was quickly tackled.
His assailant grabbed Y/N and hit him against the nearby wall, cracking it. He fell to the floor and looked up, seeing who attacked him.
"Harry..." Y/N breathed out.
The young man, with a menacing expression, clenched his fists and looked down at the super soldier.
"I won't let you take my father from me again."
