THE FOURTH QUARTER was underway.  The score was 89-98 in favor of the Golden State Warriors. Y/N lead his team in scoring, unsurprisingly, with 37 points. Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma offered support with 15 points and 21 points respectively. The other 16 points were spread out between the rest of the team, who weren't doing that good. In the Warriors' case, Kevin Durant was carrying them as always. The lanky forward surely stepped up this round while Stephen Curry was out with injury.

The Lakers got the ball. Lonzo dribbled it up the court as he surveyed the defensive rotations coming from the Warriors. He passed it to Kuzma who was near the paint and had Draymond Green on him. He posted up against the reigning Defensive Player of the Year and threw up his signature hook shot. Surprisingly, it went in. The team ran back on defense as Shaun Livingston took the ball up.

Both teams went scoreless the next couple of minutes as great defense was played by both sides. Their point guard came up with the ball again in one possession, but before they could drive forward, Lonzo stripped the ball from his hands and ran toward his basket. Y/N followed close behind in transition. Instead of Lonzo scoring himself, he threw it off the backboard and allowed Y/N to dunk it himself.

The Lakers fans in the stadium roared in excitement while Warriors fans groaned. Head Coach Steve Kerr called timeout to speak with his team and the Lakers went to their bench pretty hyped up from the previous play.

"Good shit!" Lonzo hit Y/N's shoulder.

"Give me a warning next time." Y/N chuckled. "Imagine the reels if I would've missed it."

They shared a laugh before joining the rest of the team in the huddle. After some discussion, they rolled out the same lineup consisting of Lonzo, Y/N, Caldwell-Pope, Kuzma, and Randle. The Warriors replaced Livingston with Andre Iguodala who joined Durant, David West, Draymond, and Klay Thompson.

They continued playing. Lakers ended up scoring in back-to-back possessions and bought the score 95-98. Kerr chose to not call his last timeout and instead shouted at his players to defend their scorers better, mostly Y/N. And Iguodala took it to heart.

Warriors ended up scoring thanks to a midrange by Klay. The Lakers got the ball back and handed it to Y/N this time. Andre Iguodala called out to his squad.

"I got the kid! Spread out! Out!

Y/N heard this and simply stared at him as he dribbled the ball through his legs. Andre was a lanky 6-foot-7 veteran small forward who, in his prime, was a great defender. He still held most of that pedigree, as he won Finals MVP three years ago for how well he defended LeBron James. Iguodala deciding to take 6-foot-4 Y/N himself showed how much of a threat he was.

Y/N was going to take that challenge.

The combo guard dribbled to try to get him to bite on a movement. Finally, he jerked to the right and successfully got past him, which garnered reactions from the crowd. Once he was free, Y/N pulled up for the midrange and scored.

"L/N shook Iguodala right off him! What a move!"

Y/N ran back and smirked at the veteran player, who in turn shot a stare back. The older hooper wasn't going to take that kindly.

The score was now 97-100. The Warriors tried to score on their possession, but a successful block by Randle on a layup attempt by David West kept it from happening. The Lakers ran back on offense as the ball bounced back to Y/N. He kept an eye out for a shooter and quickly spotted Kuzma by the line in the corner. He threw it at him and Kyle shoot the three-ball, making it.

"The pass by L/N to Kuzma leads to a three!"

"The game is now tied 100-100 with six minutes left in the game."

"Will Kerr use his final timeout?"

And he did. The head coach called over his team and huddled them up. He ran through some plays on his whiteboard before bringing up the main problem.

"L/N is screwing us. Him, Ball, and Kuzma are the only ones providing substantial scoring, and they're still neck and neck with us." He told them. "We lose this game, all the momentum swings back to LA and this series is up for grabs again."

Durant breathed through his nose and he rested his hands at his waist. He looked up at the large scoreboard and clock. In his mind, he felt it was time to get their shit done and prove they were the team to beat in the playoffs.

"I got this, Steve." He said then looked at Iguodala. "Stay in front of L/N. He gets past you, I got your back."

The buzzer sounded and both teams went back on the court. The ball went to the Warriors who quickly initiated their offense. After a couple of passes, the ball went to Durant, who simply shot a midrange over Kuzma and scored the ball. The Lakers got the ball back and went up the court with it. Y/N had the ball and saw Andre guarding him again. He did the same move and got past the veteran, but didn't notice Durant who shifted in front of him.

Y/N shot the ball but the long arms of KD swatted the ball away. Andre caught the ball from behind and ran to his basket where easily scored a layup. The Warriors fans roared in excitement.

Durant didn't even look at Y/N as he went back on defense. Y/N shook his head and called for the ball again.

The Lakers initiated their offense but couldn't get a shot. The Warriors took advantage and scored on their end, thanks to Durant once again. Lakers fumbled once again with a turnover by Randle which lead to a three by Durant on the Warriors' possession. The arguably best player in the world was heating up and making it known that he wasn't going to let the young Lakers prevail.

The Lakers called timeout with the score being 100-109 and the clock having a little over three minutes left. They needed to pick up the slack soon or else it'd be over.

Coach Walton spoke. "Y/N, I'm going to put Hart in for you. Zo, Kuz...I.T and Nance—"

"Nah, Coach." Y/N interrupted. "Let me stay in. There's only three minutes left."

"You've all played the entire fourth basically. Just get some rest and I'll get you guys back in."

"There's no point. Just keep me in. Come on." Y/N replied.

Walton looked at him for a moment before finally relenting. Once he made his decision Lonzo and Kuzma spoke up.

"If he's staying in, I'm staying." Lonzo said.

"Yeah." Kuzma added.

The coach eyed them too and let out an exhale. "Fuck it, all right."

Once the timeout ended, the same lineup, albeit without Randle and KCP, went in. Kentavious was replaced with Ingram and Lopez came in for Randle. Warriors kept their same lineup from before.

The Lakers were on offense and it lead to a couple of points by Lonzo. With the Warriors' turn, they tried to counter but failed to do so thanks to great defense by Y/N on Klay. Ingram brought the score closer by making a three toward the end of their possession. It was now 105-109 with less than two minutes left.

"This game might go down to the wire."

"Will the Lakers steal another and bring this series back to LA?"

Durant called for the ball and dribbled up the court rather slowly, trying to burn the clock as much as he could while they had a four-point lead. The similarly-built Ingram was guarding him, but KD didn't even have his eyes on him...but on the hoop instead.

He dribbled closer to the three-point line and simply pulled up. The shot was like a rainbow as it went into the basket. The crowd inside Oracle Arena roared.

"Durant has been unconscious this quarter!"

"He is not leaving this building without the win, surely."

The Lakers got the ball back and Y/N immediately called for it. He didn't walk but ran instead with the ball in his hands. The Warriors didn't expect the action and scrambled to get in front of him. He successfully got through and made a layup in under five seconds. It was now 107-112 with a minute left.

It didn't phase them, especially Durant. He got the ball again and jogged down the court. Y/N, who was the closest to KD, decided to get in front of him and keep him from driving to the hoop like he just did.

This time, Durant chose to look at Y/N. The younger man wondered if it was in a taunting manner or a sign of respect since he didn't even notice Ingram earlier. Still, Y/N stayed in front of him and stretched out his arms.

It was a fruitless attempt against the almost seven-foot man. He shot the ball over the guard and made another three, garnering an even louder reaction from the attendees. Just like Y/N did to Andre earlier, Durant smirked as he jogged backward.

"The rainbow shot over L/N!"

"Ooooh, that was vile!"

"LA has an eight-point deficit with 50 seconds left. They might have to try the foul game to have a chance."

The Lakers got the ball back and chose to do just that. Luckily, Lonzo scored a three on their turn and quickly fouled the Warriors once they inbounded the ball. Unfortunately, they had given it to Klay, who was arguably their best free throw shooter.

Klay made both shots and the score was now 107-117. The Lakers got the ball back and tried to make a quick shot, deciding to give Y/N the chance. He got free and threw up a three-pointer...but it missed.

Durant rebounded the ball and was immediately fouled. At that point...the game was basically over.

Durant made both shots and the Lakers were down twelve. Kuzma threw up a shot on their possession and missed again. Iguodala got the rebound with about fifteen seconds left and both teams decided to let the clock run out.

The buzzer sounded and the series was officially over.

"31 for Durant. 24 for Thompson. 43 for L/N."

"The Lakers were able to reach this moment despite their inexperience. They should be proud of themselves."

"Y/N L/N should surely be proud of his performance in this series. We've been witnessing the rise of superstar."

"And speaking of superstars, Kevin Durant and the Warriors will face Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans next round. Should be quite a matchup."

Y/N and his team were disappointed at the loss, but still accepted the words coming from the experienced Warriors. Durant dapped Y/N up and brought him in for a hug as the cameras rolled.

"Keep that shit up, OG." He simply said and pat his back.

Y/N nodded and reciprocated the act. He walked away and ran into Stephen Curry, who came from the bench and was wearing a suit. He greeted the young player and fellow Under Armor endorser as well.

"You're one cold motherfucker." He told him. "You'll be back here for sure."

Y/N finally smiled. "And maybe next time I'll actually get to play you. If your ankles ever end up not being glass."

Curry scoffed and let out a chuckle. "Yeah, yeah. Fuck you."

They dapped each other up again and Y/N left the hardwood, walking into the locker room to join the rest of his teammates.

The team went back to their hotel. There were going to stay an additional day in San Francisco just for leisure, which they didn't mind since the season was over for them. They wanted to have some time to themselves and have fun. In Y/N's case, he personally wanted to get back to LA as fast as possible, mostly to see Hailee again.

But a surprise was surely awaiting him.

Y/N was one of the last to get off the bus. Most of his teammates and the staff were already checking into their rooms at the front desk. He entered the hotel carrying his bag as he scrolled through his phone, not really looking at what was in front of him. Suddenly, someone called out.

"Hey, hey, hey."

The voice caught his attention almost immediately. He looked up from his device and saw the woman ahead, beaming and opening up her arms. It was Hailee.

"What?" He exclaimed in an elated manner. "What are you doing here?" Y/N hugged her. "I thought you weren't able to come?"

"ADR on Bumblebee didn't take as long as I thought." She replied. "Once I was done I took the first flight here."

Y/N nodded gratefully. Hailee's expression softened and ran her fingers through his hair.

"I'm sorry about the loss. You did really great out there." She added.

"Now that you're here, I forgot all about it." He replied with a smile and kissed her.

"So what do you want to do?" Hailee asked after they parted. "It's been a while since I've been to Oakland."

Y/N chuckled and glanced at his teammates at the front desk.

"I think the guys and I want to get some rest since it's..." He looked at his phone. "10:30. We have all day tomorrow, though."

"Sounds like a plan." She replied then smirked as she got close. "How about we go to your room and help you relax?"

Y/N was taken aback by the request. He let out a light laugh and smiled back.

"Now that would be great."

Y/N WAS AT a table within the venue of the award show. With him sat his plus one, Hailee, and Donovan, who had brought his girlfriend, Deja Lighty. A couple of other people with their guests sat with them too.

They waited for the award show to start. As they did, Y/N took out his phone and decided to do an Instagram Live so he can interact with his fans. He placed it by the centerpiece of the table and began.

Immediately, comments filled the stream. There were mostly complimenting him, asking for a shoutout, or questions about him, his music, and Hailee. He continued to read some of them.

"What do you think about Trae Young? He was awesome in Oklahoma, I think he's gonna do great in Atlanta. Dallas should've kept him though."

"I love One Kiss. I've been listening to it ever since it came out. Thank you, Dua and I are so proud of what we put out. And I'm looking forward to working with her again."

"Any new music? I got something coming in the next week. I held it off for the last month but it's ready now. Stay tuned."

"You do?" Hailee overheard his statement.

Y/N looked away from the camera and faced her. "You're gonna love it. A melody about you and me. I actually decided to put my vocals in."

"Oooh." She replied.

Another comment popped up. "LET ME SEE HAIZ."

Y/N shifted the camera to her. "Here she is. Say hi to the world, Haiz."

The singer-slash-actress smiled and blew a kiss at the camera. Y/N chuckled.

"Beautiful. Beautiful." He brought the phone closer to her face and but she shooed it away.

"Not too close." She laughed. "What are you doing?"

He pointed the camera back at himself and chuckled. "I'm very happy she got to attend today before she's off on the tour."

He looked at another question asking for a question and answer session.

"Q&A? Sounds fun. All right." He scooted closer to Hailee and put her in frame with him. "Haiz, let's do it. Q&A."

Hailee looked up from her phone and laughed. She put the device down and sat up.

"Okay."

"Bring it on." Y/N told the fans.

They answered some questions about Hailee's music and future acting work. Some were even about their relationship.

"Did she pick out your suit? Nah, this was me this time. Don and Haiz always gave me a hard time about my fashion so I had to go all out tonight."

"It could be better." Hailee added.

"Ouch." Y/N replied with a chuckle, then read another comment.

"Who was your favorite player before me?" Y/N asked Hailee.

"Kobe." She quickly replied.

"Kobe Bryant." He reiterated to the fans. "Good choice."

"You are couple goals. You see that, Haiz. We are officially couple goals." He told her and the two shared a laugh.

"Where's Donovan? Ah, he's over here." He pointed the camera across the table and showed them. He was talking with his girlfriend.

"Now that's couple goals." Y/N remarked before pointing the camera back at him and Hailee.

"Do you play Fortnite?" He read the comment and looked at Hailee. "Do you play Fortnite?"

She shook her head. "I didn't get into it."

"I don't play Fortnite either." Y/N told the stream. "I just foreplay at night."

He said that with a wink and there was a pause as he glanced at Hailee. She had finished sipping her drink and caught what he said.

"What are you doing?" She asked in a whisper.

"What?" He replied with an airy chuckle.

She playfully slapped his arm. "You can't tell them that."

"Sorry, guys." Y/N told the stream. "We gotta keep this PG."

After that, the award show started. He bid his fans farewell and ended the stream.

Anthony Anderson was the host and after his monologue, he introduced DJ Khaled and Kelly Roland to present the Rookie of the Year award, which went to Ben Simmons.

The next award was Most Improved Player, which Y/N was one of the finalists for. Josh Duhamel and Adrienne Houghton went on stage to present the award.

Clips of the finalists played on screen, which was of Lakers' Y/N L/N, Rockets' center Clint Capela, and Nets' Spencer Dinwiddie. Afterward, they announced the winner.

"And the 2018 KIA NBA Most Improved Player is...Y/N L/N!"

There was applause and cheering as Y/N stood up from his seat. He leaned over to kiss Hailee and dapped up Donovan before making his way toward the stage. He mingled with a few of his other NBA and celebrity friends before finally getting to the microphone.

They handed him the award and the music stopped before he can begin his speech. He held the trophy in his hands and looked at it.

"How's everyone doing this evening?" He asked the attendees who responded with more cheers. The man continued.

"First and foremost, I'd like to thank the man above, who is responsible for giving me the ability to play this game. For my family and friends both here and at home. A special shout-out to Kobe Bryant, my mentor and role model since I first picked up a basketball..."

"Thank you to the Lakers organization for believing in me. What we accomplished last season is just the beginning and there are bigger heights we want to reach. And to finish this off...I'd like to thank my mom, Y/M/N, for being the pillar of my life and giving me the strength to achieve my goals. I wouldn't be here without her."

He looked down at the award again before facing the crowd again. "Much love to you all. Thank you."

The crowd applauded again after his speech and it continued as he made his way back to his table.

There was an after-party that everyone attended which included food and drinks that they indulged in. Hours later, Y/N decided to go back to the hotel with Hailee. The venue was in Santa Monica, so they planned to stay overnight and make it back to Los Angeles the next day.

They entered the room. Y/N had his award in hand and placed it on the desk by the television. He immediately started to take off his coat.

"Can you believe I lost to Giannis?" Y/N remarked, thinking back to the brief drinking game they had during the party. "Those Greeks have a crazy high tolerance."

He heard the door open again and saw Hailee placing the Do Not Disturb sign on the handle outside. He closed it back up and walked toward Y/N.

"What was that?" He asked with a chuckle.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and titled her head.

"What was it you said about foreplay earlier?"

His eyes widened, remembering the Fortnite joke he made during the IG live.

"Uh...oh! That! I—um..."

"Hm. Well, we don't want anyone disturbing us while we're busy, right?"

Y/N looked at Hailee's face, noticing that she was definitely in the mood. Her sultry tone reminded him of the time back at his place during July 4th weekend...the difference is this time she wasn't intoxicated.

Having her look up at him with those eyes made him act like a bumbling teenager again. That was always his weakness.

"I mean—yeah. That's...uh...a good point."

"Or we could skip all that and you could go straight to fucking me." She basically whispered. "Is that what you want?"

Y/N swallowed and finally gathered his bearings. He held her face in between his hands.

"I want to savor every moment with you. Always." He responded.

Immediately, they captured each other's lips. He was quick to remove her top before making their way to the bed behind them.

Each article of their clothing was removed, and just like the man said, the couple was going to savor their moment together. Especially since she was soon going to go on tour.

HAILEE HAS HAD morning sickness for the last couple of days, and she didn't know what was her problem. She didn't want to think she caught some kind of flu during the tour.

A friend on the tour, Abigail, was worried for her. Upon asking what other symptoms Hailee felt she had...she brought up a possibility.

"You have to check if you're pregnant." She told her.

"What?" Hailee asked in disbelief. The two were in the singer's room.

"Have you missed your period?"

She thought about it for a moment. It began to dawn on her.

"Shit..."

"Like I said. You need to check." Abigail said.

"It's not like I have a test on me right now."

"I'll go get one." Her friend immediately got up. "You stay here, it shouldn't take long. The shop downstairs has everything."

She left the room, leaving Hailee there alone. The singer paced around the room thinking of her possible situation.

Could she be pregnant? Is she ready to be a mother? It would obviously be Y/N's, so would he be ready too? To be a father?

All those questions went through her mind. She must've spent all her time pondering those thoughts since Abigail had come back almost immediately.

"Screw it, I bought two."

"Two?" Hailee asked.

"Girl, we gotta be 100% sure."

She was grateful for her friend getting her the tests. She let Hailee go to the bathroom and do it herself. After that, the singer waited.

Hailee had her phone with her, mindlessly scrolling through it in anticipation. She also had it with her, ready to call Y/N in case the test was positive. She wanted him to be one of the first to know.

More minutes went by and it was finally time. With an inhale, Hailee looked at the tests on the counter...

Back in Los Angeles, Y/N had made it home. The hooper had just hung out with Lonzo, Brandon, Kuzma, and Josh Hart.

The group had a great time out in the city while also talking about the possibility of LeBron signing with the team. Lonzo and Kuzma felt like it could happen and were excited, while Hart, Ingram, and Y/N believed it was unlikely.

"You really think he'd choose here over playing with CP and Harden in Houston?" Josh had brought up.

Y/N put his bag down and took off his hoodie. He turned on the television but instead of sitting down immediately, he went to the kitchen to grab a snack.

As he grabbed some oats from the pantry, he took out his phone to check his social media and possibly see any updates from the tour Hailee was on.

He stood by the island but quickly realized he forgot to get a drink. He placed his phone down and went to get it from the fridge. As he did...he could hear his phone vibrating on the counter.

He wondered who it could be.

Y/N grabbed the bottle from the fridge and made his way to the island. He put it down and picked up his phone, seeing who was calling.

It was his agent, Rich Paul.

The young man answered and put the device to his ear. "Hey, Rich. What's up?"

"I got some big news, man."

"Really? Am I the going to be on the cover of the next 2K?"

He chuckled. "Not yet, anyway. Keep working."

"For sure. So, what is it?"

There was a pause. Y/N knew this was for dramatic effect and he rolled his eyes. Finally, Rich replied.

"The King is coming. And he's going to help you bring a championship to LA."
