life in texas was possibly the worst and best for amelia gracia. don't get her wrong she loved the state, so much. she was as patriotic as they come. it wasn't the place she lived that she hates it was her life. doing the same old boring things everyday, she absolutely loathed everyone around her. the only people she actually enjoyed being around was her mother, brother, and the one friend she had. mama amanda a perfectly lovely woman. she owed a bed and breakfast in the country parts of austin texas. they'd lived on the property since amelia was little.

it was her home, she enjoyed all the animals especially the horses. amelia and devon had been friends since kindergarten, so they considered themselves each others best friends but they aren't as close anymore as they used to be.

oliver is her older brother, when he was sixteen he was in a car accident with their father. according to doctors he got lucky, seeing as he was alive and danny wasn't. but he didn't feel lucky, living with a tbi. which stands for traumatic brain injury, there's different types he now suffered from seizures and it's hard for him to form sentences out loud, he also lost partial hearing in both his ears so he mainly spoke in asl.

amelia was thirteen when the accident happened. it wasn't even supposed to be oliver in the car. but amelia was being a typical teenager. the day earlier she had promised danny she would take the trip into the city with him for two days. but when the day came she changed her mind because she wanted to hang out with friends. so she begged oliver to go and he did, he could never say no to her.

till this day amelia felt guilty. she felt like she didn't deserve her life. oliver was the kindest, smartest, loving, boy in the world. he had his whole life ahead of him, he was always the better child, he still was. he always would be.

losing her father and dealing with the fact that she ruined her brothers life. amelia also had no idea what she was doing in her life, working at the austin rock & roll car museum wasn't what she wanted to do forever. amelia's dream was to work in formula 1. it was daniels as well, they talked about f1 non-stop. daniel was her favorite person in the entire world, he still was. the only time she felt truly happy was watching f1, car racing. it was the only time she truly felt close to him. she would volunteer every year for the austin gp, and ferrari's media managers would pick her every time. at request of charles leclerc who enjoyed having her around.

they'd offered her a job every year for the last four years and every year like clock work something would get in the way. something would happen with oliver and amanda and they needed her help. of course amelia never told amanda about the offers because then she would make her go and she couldn't. she would never leave her family especially since she felt like it was her fault everything was so fucked up.
