|05| Chapter Five
[Y/N]
Mom was the wicked witch of the west without magic. Dad was an archer mercenary that stole from the rich and gave to the poor. And we never saw dad. He was too busy doing what he believed to be right.
However, he was on the run from the law, because he was a vigilante. I think one of my friends called my father Oliver Queen in our other town. Hyperion, I know why we had to move. I know why the reason we moved was for the two of them.
Mom wanted to get away from the press of Hyperion and Robin wanted to get away from heartbreak. They said we had to flee because of me, but I knew it was really for them. Sure, I did magic in front of people at a school pep rally.
But that was an accident. Everything I have ever done was an accident, but this move was different. Those people at the pep rally didn’t care that I had magic. Because in truth, every single one of them had powers like me.
But mom and Robin took it in a different direction, and here is where we are now. I’m now alone in Ninjago City with only one friend. Lloyd Garmadon. The blonde boy that helped me with a stupid comic book.
The boy that was always seemingly dressed in green from head to foot. He was strange, but there was nothing about him that was stranger than I am. I mean, my grandmother is the Queen of Hearts.
My aunt was the Evil queen. My cousin was Snow White/ Mary Margaret Blanchard. My adoptive cousin was also my step great nephew. Oh, and my aunt was in love with my father, but my grandmother forced my father to marry my mother.
Yeah, nothing was as weird or weirder about anyone else. Besides my entire family was confusing. There wasn’t a single branch that wasn’t as confusing as something else.
“So, [Y/N], I hear you made a new friend.” Robin said waltzing into my room.
Well, technically, it was our room. I have to explain myself. I had decided to keep a journal, and what you just read was my introduction. I was starting off with the basics. Some basics of this was not necessary while others were needed or mandatory.
“And what makes you think that?” I asked her.
“Mom said you had a friend. Oh, and I also went through your phone.” Robin said nonchalantly.
That is such a Robin thing to do. Well, she has done it before. But I didn’t think she would do it again. I guess that’s what Robin has always done. Done something I didn’t think she would, or I didn’t expect her too.
“Anywho, who’s Lloyd?” I stopped writing in my journal.
“Lloyd?” I asked turning towards my archer sister.
I sat up on my bed and placed my journal under my pillow. However, I knew she would come and look for it at some point in time, so I just planted the seed, so she would find it. It was better to go along with her antics than to go against it.
“Yeah, you’ve been texting someone named Lloyd quite frequently. So, who’s Lloyd?” she asked.
“A friend.” I replied.
“A friend? Is he-.”
“Just a friend.” I cut her off.
“Have you talked to Morgan and Hadley lately?” Robin asked me.
Morgan and Hadley were my two friends from Hyperion. They introduced me to Alice, and I introduced Alice to Robin. And just like that, a beautiful romance between my sister and Alice appeared.
And then, Alice broke my sister’s heart. So, in a way, those two were the ones responsible for my sister’s reason to move. But Robin didn’t know that. All she knew was that I was the one to start the friendship and love and ultimately the end of it.
“Yeah. Morgan is trying to start a new club and Hadley is getting ready for the Marching Band season. They’re both traveling a lot. They’re going on the cross-country road trip we were talking about.” I explained.
I wanted to go with them. And then, this happened. We moved, and I couldn’t go with them. Now, I’m waiting for the day, they’re going to be in Ninjago City. I had our weekend planned out already for when that would happen.
As long as the two of them are on schedule and don’t opt out of it at the last moment. Hopefully, they won’t do that. They’re better than that. I just hope they were better than that. My phone beeped and I picked it up.
You want the next issue?
I had forgotten I was reading Lloyd’s Starfarer comic. And that I had finished the last issue faster than he wanted.
Sure.
Where do you want to me?
“I thought you said he was just a friend?” Robin said peering over my shoulder.
“Will you stop that? This is private, Robin!”
