WHEN ELLIE she came up in the box she only remembered two things: her name, and Chuck. The thought of her younger brother kept her grounded as she learnt to navigate a glade full of boys.

Despite this, the Glade quickly became her whole world, with its high walls, endless routines, and strict rules, it shaped her every day.

Over time, Ellie found her place as a Medjack, learning the skills needed to care for the injured and sick. She was told that her compassion and quick thinking made her a vital part of the group. So, she took pride in her ability to help others, and always making sure to keep a close watch on Chuck, who was the only family she had left.

But when a new Greenie arrives—different from all the others before him—Ellie feels a shift. This boy, Thomas, isn't like the others. He's curious, determined, and somehow familiar, stirring memories she can't quite grasp. The Gladers begin to notice the changes too; the walls are shifting in ways they never have before, and the routine that once felt so stable now feels like it's unraveling.

Ellie can't shake the feeling that this newcomer is the key to everything. But whether that key will unlock their freedom or doom them all, she doesn't yet know.

All she knows is that trouble is coming, and she must be ready to face it, for herself, for Chuck, and for the future of everyone in the Glade.
