EPISODE - 35 I've to behave like Manik Malhotra's wife..

AT NIGHT

"Papa.." Mahi squealed in Manik's arms and jumped to her father, who took her in his arms and smiled happily, "My baby.."

NANDINI and Manik smiled seeing their bond, Mahi and RISHABH were chatting happily in their own world in the park.

NANDINI and Manik sat on a bench watching them play.

"Why did Prerna ji and RISHABH ji got separated?" Nandini asked curiously.

"Fights.." Manik replied, "RISHABH belongs to a middle class family and is working as a lawyer.. Di offered him to work at MMD but he didn't want to grow on his career by using shortcuts so he denied the offer.. Di thought he was just shy to admit he wanted to work in MMD and since it was first days of marriage he wanted to impress her by proving that he is hard working man, she thought with time she will convince him and one or other day he would finally agree.. But RISHABH didn't change his decision and their fights started.. Di was ashamed of having husband like him, and he was also uncomfortable with our lifestyle.. In between all this, their little baby Mahi was suffering.. Instead of enjoying her motherhood, Di started throwing tantrums to RISHABH everyday asking him to buy expensive things for Mahi, and when he couldn't she would ask me to buy it humiliating him in front of the family.. He was still supporting all this because of me.. He's a good friend of mine and I only approached him and asked him to marry Di, but after seeing my friend suffering and staying silent.. I couldn't bear it anymore.. I gave him permission to divorce Di and they separated.. Rishabh accepted Mahi to stay with her mother as he didn't want to separate a little baby from her mother.. So once or twice in a week, I take Mahi to meet RISHABH.."

NANDINI got tears in her eyes hearing this, she looked away trying to compose herself.

" I think that Mahi should stay with her father.. She clearly loves him more than Prerna ji.." Nandini said.

"But Nandini.. Di.. How can I snatch Mahi from Di? She will suffer a lot without her daughter.. Di is Mahi's mother.." Manik looked at Nandini shocked, "And it's normal that Mahi gets happier when she gets to meet RISHABH, because she doesn't meet him everyday while she's with Di everyday.. It's not that she loves RISHABH more than Di.."

"You're being selfish for your Di Manik.. Think from Rishabh's perspective.. He was humiliated by his wife still he kept quiet because of you, you asked him to divorce Prerna ji and live his life, he did what you asked for and also let Mahi stay with Prerna ji.. He lost his wife and his daughter.. Working everyday and waiting for a day in a week so that he meets with his daughter.. Why is he getting punished when the fault isn't his? Why snatch his happiness and give it to your Di, Manik?" Nandini asked disgusted, "And you know what, I did asked Mahi who she loves more and her reply was her father.. RISHABH! That's so strange right.. Because PRERNA ji lives with her and she's more close to Prerna ji, still she choose her father with whom she meets only for one or two days in a week!"

"Mami come to play.." Mahi ran to Nandini and pulled Nandini with her. Rishabh, Nandini and Mahi were playing hide and seek and Manik gulped thinking if he is doing wrong with Rishabh or not by separating him from his daughter.

After they finish playing, it was time to go. Mahi kissed her father's cheek with moist eyes, she hugged him tightly getting cranky. She didn't want to leave him.

Manik and Nandini watched this scene with broken heart.

RISHABH looked up to the sky and control his tears, it was such a hard time to get separated from his daughter everyday he meets with her.

MANAN ROOM

MANIK wasn't getting any sleep thinking about Rishabh and Mahi. He turned to his left side and found Nandini also with open eyes staring at him, "Why aren't you sleeping yet?"

"Same question to you.." she pouted.

"Am I disturbing you? I will go out then.." he said and get down the bed ready to leave the room so that she won't get disturbed in her sleep because of him.

"Manik no.. Stay here.." Nandini sat on the bed.

MANIK sat on the bed beside her silently.

"Are you thinking about RISHABH ji and Mahi?" NANDINI asked.

MANIK nodded staring at her, "I just don't know what to do.. I don't want to separate a mother from her child but at the same time today I felt bad for Rishabh.. You're right, he's not at fault and still he's suffering.."

"Why don't you ask Di about this matter? " Nandini said caressing his shoulder, "Manik it's their matter and both RISHABH ji and Prerna ji have to talk and decide what's best for Mahi.."

"You're right.. I will talk with Di.." he blinked his eyes.

"What do you think about having our wedding reception?" she asked smiling to change the topic.

"If you want, no problem.." he pinched her cheek and Nandini giggled childishly making Manik finally smile at her.

"I want a big party with balloons and big cake.. Then I will play with my friends and Akka hide and seek.." she clapped her hands excitedly.

"What Rubbish.." Manik glared at her.

"What?" Nandini looked at him confused.

"It's our wedding reception party Nandini.. Not any children party!!" MANIK rolled his eyes.

"Oh yes... I've to behave like Manik Malhotra's wife.. " she said acting elegantly.

"You're unbelievable, woman!" MANIK shook his head chuckling and pulled her to sleep.

Next day, Nandini was as usual in the kitchen making breakfast for everyone while Nani and Prerna were in the living room buying saris to wear at the wedding reception. Maddy and Mama were talking about business.

"Hi Di.." Komalika came smirking, she sat beside prerna.

"Hi Komalika.. How are you?" Prerna smiled, then looked at one of MMD's employee who came to show sari to them, "Show me that one.." she pointed to the one she wants.

"Fine.. but after what happened with Paras.." Komalika sighed sadly.

"Don't worry.. The one responsible for what happened with Paras will pay badly for it.." prerna said angrily.

"Komalika bitiya you also choose sari for you.." Nani smiled. Komalika nodded and three ladies were busy gossiping and buying latest designed saris.

MANIK descended the stairs after getting ready to leave to office and frowned seeing the three choosing saris, when he asked his employee to show Nandini what she wants.

"What's going on here?" he asked in serious tone.

"Chiku we're choosing saris to wear at your wedding reception.." prerna smiled.

MANIK stare at his Di, then at little Mahi sitting at the dining hall alone waiting to be served breakfast.

He angrily walked towards the kitchen and saw Nandini cooking for breakfast with HP helping her.

"HP out.." Manik gritted his teeth.

"He's not playing cricket to be out.." Nandini giggled but seeing Manik's serious look, she stopped smiling and HP left the kitchen.
