PRINCESS AZUNA OF THE FIRE NATION went by many names, nowadays. The lost princess, Sozina, the favorite of Lord Ozai, and the very first black fire bender in the world. She was born with the sun in her eyes and the mark of the fabled black dragon on her back.

Her hair was long and colored with the pitch black scales of the beast, her eyes came from the piercing gaze of the dragons, and her fire burned blacker than the midnight sky. Her soul was that of the Phoenix.

And as much as a special child she was, she didn't feel so special in her own family. Even at a young age, Azuna woken up to the horrible ways of her beloved home. Or what she used to call her home.

She grew up with the mindset that the Fire nation was the greatest nation in the world and for a while, she believed it. Even relished in the power her father fed her and her siblings. But like a whisper in the night, a voice helped her realized how wrong she was about her home and about her father.

The fire nation was not the greatest. They were without honor, without respect, without love. They were a war ridden land and she couldn't take it anymore. So she ran away. Only being 6 years old, she ran away from her home and found a new home with the southern water tribe.

And as a smart 6 year old, she took shelter in a icy cave near the main tribe, where she lived off of fish every day and night and relied on meditating for entertainment.

But all of that changed when a young girl her age named Katara, stumbled upon her little makeshift home by accident. She was startled to see someone not of her tribe living on the outskirts of her village. And it wasn't until she noticed that the girl fire bended a fire pit for herself that she realized she was of the cursed Fire Nation. The same place that took her mother away from her.

But seeing as she was only a child, Katara did nothing but watch her from afar. Studying her and even leaving piles of fish for her so she wouldn't have to get a cold trying to fish in the icy plains.

And that was the start of her adventure.

As Azuna grew up with the Water tribe, she was accepted by the people there. She hid her bending ( despite everyone knowing she could fire bend ), denounced her name and changed it to Zuni, and found a real family in Katara and Sokka. Even though her heart still longed for Zuko, her beloved big brother.

Azuna has a prophecy to fulfill. She is the only one who can help save the Fire Nation from its communist ways and restore honor to her kingdom. She's the only one who can do it.

For she is the BLACK DRAGON.

this story is back! Are you excited?! I am
I didn't like how I wrote the first version
of this story and as I began handwriting the
new version, I thought the new plot works
better this time.

So this is how Azuna's reoccurring outfit
and hairstyle looks. Except her hair is loosely
wavy like Kataras hair but way less poofy and
more tamed and wavy. Also her kimono is black
and gold with a golden dragon etched on it.
but this is how it looks. Just imagine the colors
on it and imagine her hair loosely wavy.
