❝ 朝被蛇咬 ❞
YUE IS AT A DESERTED AREA—on a mountain, more likely—where no trees nor plants are present; just like she politely suggested.
The students have to enhance their skills after getting a scolding from Aizawa, who told them that they haven't gotten better at all.
By extending both of her hands, she releases a grand sea of blue flames, sweat dripping from her forehead.
This is repeated many times after. She wants to take a quick break, but her teacher's strict voice cuts through.
Making a backflip is what causes even more fire to ignite from her feet, which are held highly in the air.
She feels slightly dizzy after using so much of her energy, considering that she didn't sleep nor eat as well.
But the atmosphere around them is enough energy for Yue to gain from. She takes in a deep breath of fresh air.
One of her leg and both arms rise, more flames igniting from all three of them. She has never relied on power itself, more on the antique techniques she uses. Yet Aizawa instructed her to test her limits out.
Plopping down on the ground, Yue exhales soundly.
She watches the birds chirping above her, jealous of the way they can carelessly fly around and live out their freedom; something she's always wanted.
Another majestic wave of azure flames emits from her mouth, as soon as she notices that there are no birds in sight.
Now, her eyes are starting to get heavy and her sight rather blurry.
In an instant, she snaps out of her daze, jumping back up through a kip-up.
Her breath is heavy as she creates more and more of those azure flames.
After exhausting hours of training, the class is finally able to eat something. Unfortunately, they have to prepare it themselves, like the Pussycats told them yesterday.
"Let's make the most delicious meal in the world, everyone!" Iida exclaims.
They have to cook curry. Yue isn't hungry in the first place, and also doesn't eat nor wants to prepare the meat, so it's sort of a complicated situation. She can't be much of a useful hand.
Yet she's the one who ignites the fire for the stove, alongside Todoroki. In contrast to him, though, her fire is first blue, but then turns red.
Mina's mouth gapes open at the realization, asking curiously, "Shirohono-san, why doesn't your fire stay blue?"
"Because I stop controlling it and let it flow in the rightful and natural order," answers the said girl, standing up to move to the next stove. "Blue is the hottest part of a flame, and as it cools down, it becomes orange and red again."
Afterward, the food is ready and well-cooked. Shirohono has politely and almost beggarly asked her teacher if she could meditate in the meantime, and with an eye-roll and strict instructions, he allowed her to do so.
Serenity is painting Yue's presence. She sits in her usual lotus position, breathing in and out while letting the cold breeze wash over her warm features.
Stars light the sky like snow-flakes in the night, yet appear still, like an old photograph. She can feel the wind blow her hair into a tousled mane.
If she was out there in space, riding the limits of the known universe, they would be a choreographed blizzard. How the stars would move, the galaxies tumble and dart.
But, for now, with her leg above each thigh and her hands laying calmly on top of them, the starlight keeps its familiar pattern. The constellations, who have witnessed centuries and millennia just the same, watch over this tiny moment.
Soon on, Taiyo appears in front of her in the same seating way. "Shouldn't you be with your other classmates?" He asks.
"I didn't want to waste the huge amount of spirituality in here by just sitting around." She shrugs. "And I don't eat, anyway, so."
He sighs loudly. But as he composes himself and notices that no one else is in sight, he begins explaining the next chakra. "Let's move onto the fifth chakra. It's called the sound chakra, and is located at the throat. The truth is what is dealt with here, yet it's blocked by lies. Lies that we tell ourselves."
"A blocked throat chakra contributes to insecurity, timidity, and introversion," the black-haired male continues. "When it is blocked, it can also give you a lack of connection with your purpose in life. It's associated with expressing oneself and communication in general."
You must accept yourself as who you are, Yue.
Only a deep breath is needed for it to unblock itself.
Until now, this has to be probably the easiest chakra for her to open. Even Taiyo is surprised, whose eyes are pried open. "Wow. That's fast, I guess."
"I've accepted that I'm a piece of shit long time ago, so." Yue states flatly, shrugging.
Then, she asks, "Can we open my next chakra now? I mean, this went faster than thought."
"I think it's better for you to go back now, Yue." He shakes his head, making his long and shiny hair sway. "Your teacher is probably angry that you aren't back yet."
With a nod, she accepts it. Yue waves a small hand at him and smiles.
A weak smile is suddenly on his lips as well. "When there is darkness, Yue, there is also light. Don't forget that."
And before he disappears, Taiyo finishes, "Take care of yourself, Yue."
That leaves her frowning. Yet she can't question as to why he said that because he's gone. Taking it lighthearted, she shrugs again, and goes back to join her classmates.
Their practice continues on the next day. Whilst Yue carelessly emits fire from her hands, her eyes and ears focus on the other students out of complete and pure boredom.
She loves to train. She really does. But this type of strength-training is just like a klutz to her.
When Shirohono enhances her skills by herself, she normally tries to come up with new techniques or more agility and acrobatics. This is the complete opposition. This is not what she wants, yet she can't change anything about it.
"Is All Might... I mean, are the other teachers coming?" Midoriya asks nervously.
It makes her eyebrows furrow, watching him in closer suspiciously.
Though she always pays close attention on observing others, this is the first time she realizes how big of an obsession her classmate has with the Symbol of Peace. There has been so much going on in her own life that she forgot on analyzing others.
Sure, many cherish the beloved Pro Hero dearly, but this goes to an even further extent.
It confuses her. All Might has an obviously more intimidate relationship with Midoriya than with the others. Yue once witnessed him meeting up in a room with the Pro-Hero, too.
But... why? What could All Might possibly want from a younger student?
Suddenly, realization hits her.
Her eyes widen. With a panicked gaze, she stares at Midoriya.
A stomach knot soon forms in her stomach, and she feels uneasy as her memories play in her head. Her lips curl downward as her heartbeat starts to speed up.
Going up to Midoriya himself to ask would be rather a stupid decision, considering that he's going to overreact and panic.
She doesn't want to put him in that anxious state, and so goes to his best friend who loves him more than anybody else does.
"Aye, Hedgehog!"
Said boy turns around with a gruff. "What do you want, Fireball?" He mutters, pulling his hands down to concentrate on her than his Quirk.
"Has Midoriya always been a fan of All Might?" Her head is tilted to the side, making herself look innocent and without any hints of wrong intentions behind to pull the act out better. "I've been wanting to know for a while."
Bakugou barks out instantly, "How the hell should I know? Ask his mother or something!"
"Oh." She starts spinning around to walk away, a grin on her lips as he doesn't face her. "And here I thought that you know everything about everybody—"
"Oi, hold up."
And she does. As she turns back around, the innocent facade is displayed on her face again, blinking purely. "All Might has been Deku's favorite Hero for many years. Why the hell do you wanna know that?"
Shyly, she looks down and lets the tips of her pointer fingers tap against each other. "Oh, you know... I just find him very interesting..."
To not seem suspicious, she pulls another stunt, in which she acts up a tiny crush on Midoriya.
All Bakugou can muster is an utterly disgusted scowl. "You are crushing on stupid Deku? Should've known that your standards are on the fucking floor..." He's irritated to say the least.
"Please don't tell him!" By sneakily exhaling a steamy breath, her cheeks get redder.
He scoffs, his crimson eyes narrowing themselves. "I won't, you stupid firecracker. Now fuck off."
Damn, chill. If it were not for the act she has to keep up, she would've hit him for those brash choice of words.
Bakugou has always been hard to deal with, and Shirohono is never able to shut her trap when it comes to injustice, but she has to stay quiet now.
Yet it's like he's more aggravated than usual. It pisses her off as well.
"Hormones," mutters Yue while walking off, rolling her eyes, and finally being able to let her mask fall.
She's already thinking of strategies to corner Midoriya, but the thought of making him uncomfortable or anxious cause her to throw those away.
"Midoriya!" She calls out, making him jump.
Wincing at his nervous reaction, she decides to rather be her usual calm self than playing a bubbly act.
"Y-Yes?" He looks at her, gulping.
Grinning lazily, Yue asks him, "Do you want to spar together? With me?"
"Y-Yes!"
Both of them go to a wider area to practice. As Midoriya stands as stiff as a wall, Yue fixes her bandages; pulling them tighter by her teeth.
"Please speak comfortably around me," mumbles the blue-haired girl in order to calm him down. "I'm only a few months older than you, after all."
"Y-Yes!" Deku politely yells out again.
Yet as he sees her raised eyebrows, he lets out a quieter voice of agreement.
They start walking around in a circle while they're on opposite sides, facing each other as their arms are raised in the air.
"I've personally always wanted to train with you," she says, smiling.
Knowing that he won't speak by himself, she takes the initiate and does the talking. Her words make him blush. "R-Really?"
"Of course!" She's a bit confused as to why he's so shocked about that.
Beginning their sparring, she raises her right leg high to hit him in the face, but he dodges it. "You have great potential, Midoriya!" Yue reasons like it's the most obvious thing in the world.
Gulping, his face turns even darker.
Midoriya attempts to hit her in the stomach by his left fist, but she's swift to capture his hand by hers and twist it behind his back.
Powerless would be something to describe him best now. Shirohono tightens her hold, making him wince.
"Aren't you going to do anything, Midoriya-kun?" Her voice is lighter and has slowed down, almost at the peak of tranquility, as she's right beside his ear.
Out of nowhere, he bends deeper and sweeps her leg down, causing her to fall down. Yue's lips are open in surprise, laying on the ground motionlessly.
He panics and offers his hand for her to stand back up, but she quickly grabs it and pushes him down with him; her body caging him beneath hers now.
"You remind me a lot of All Might, Midoriya." A lopsided grin is on her striking features, causing him to gulp once again. "It's amazing how much you resemble him. Who knows, maybe you'll become the next Symbol of Peace?"
Red. Midoriya's cheeks are burning and flaming, and not because of her Quirk. "U-Uh, Shirohono-san—"
"Oh, right, sorry." Noticing the position they're in, she stands up, and is the one offering a helping hand now.
Midoriya gladly accepts it. "Who's your favorite Hero, Shirohono-san?"
"Edgeshot," she says in an instant, nodding curtly. "He's been my favorite ever since I was a little kid."
"Endeavor used to be my absolute Hero, but, well..." She shrugs. "Things change."
Noticing that she's probably talking about the talk she had with Todoroki, wherein he was secretly eavesdropping, he slowly inclines his head. "Oh..."
"Let's continue!" She changes the subject immediately, wanting to know more about him.
"With Quirks now, though."
Before joining her class to prepare their meal, Yue showers, washing off the profuse sweat that was once glazed on her body.
With wet hair, which almost makes it look black, she walks back out in her dark boots. Some baggy, black pants are hugging her legs, an onyx-colored shirt that is way over her size above it.
Because the top only reaches the middle of her arm, she wrapped the white bandages from that starting point and then down to her palms.
She joins Bakugou's side, who's swiftly cutting the vegetables already. "Damn, you're fast," she remarks in surprise.
"Why shouldn't I be fast? Do you think I'm too stupid to use a knife?" He yells out, glaring at her.
Pursing her lips, Yue hides her chuckle, placing her warm hand on his shoulder in a teasing manner. "As friendly as ever."
"Shut up and wash these, Dumbo!" The blond shoves a stack of vegetables into her hands.
For once, she listens to him. Shirohono walks to the sinks and does what he had said.
While doing that, she overhears Todoroki asking Midoriya, "Did you need All Might for something?"
Shirohono really doesn't want to pry onto their conversation, but it is really impossible to not hear them. So, she hears as Midoriya answers, "Um... yeah... I did, about Kota-kun..."
"Kota. Who's what?" Todoroki questions.
Seriously, where does this boy live? She sighs deeply at her friend's cluelessness.
"The kid hates Heroes—I mean, he hates the whole Quirk-based superhuman society in general, and I couldn't do anything to help him."
That only makes Yue stop in her movements. Her lips form a thin line, looking in front of her blankly.
"Sometimes, you aren't able to change things," she opens up her mouth, which makes both of the boys look at her. He must have his reasons to not like Heroes. Everything is not as it seems to be."
Then, her slender fingers continue on washing the vegetables. "Even Heroes aren't as they seem to be."
Why she's thinking that way is beyond themselves. They would've never thought that an aspiring Hero had such a dark view about the society itself.
"I was just wondering what All Might would've said to him..." mutters Midoriya. "What would you say, Todoroki-kun, Shirohono-san?"
Todoroki is first to answer in uncertainty. "It depends. To have a stranger trying to reason with you would just be annoying, right?"
"What's important is what actions he took or is taking. If words alone are going to move someone by themselves, they have to be quite powerful. I think words have to be accompanied by actions..."
"Beautiful," states Yue, nodding along to him.
As Midoriya sets his eyes on her, expecting an answer, she delivers one. "I sort of agree with Todoroki. I mean, it's none of your business what he does and doesn't. He has his different beliefs, and I'm sure that there's a reason why. Sometimes, you just need to stay out of other people's business."
His eyes drop to the ground, defeated by her harsh words.
"But, then again..."
Midoriya looks up in slight shock, watching her continue.
"It's sad that Kota thinks that way about Heroes. Something must've happened that messed up his view like that, and maybe if you find out, you can comfort him."
A small smile is on her lips as she locks eyes with him. "Because comfort is the light that brings people out of even the darkest of holes."
"That's right. It's just as you two say—"
"SHIROHONO, WHERE ARE THE DAMN PEPPERS, YOU STUPID PIECE OF—"
Cringing, she quickly picks up the vegetables and rushes away. "Gotta go before the ugly gremlin gets even uglier!"
Whilst the others are eating dinner, Yue has made it her goal to meditate, and hopefully open the next chakra again.
But as she sits in the meditative position, waiting until Taiyo appears, she's confused to see that he simply doesn't. It makes her frown.
He's probably just sick of me. I don't blame him.
Yue continues meditating, breathing through the calming air thoroughly.
Each of her body parts are at their most serene state. And serenity is what brings her happiness. Through simple calmness, she is able to have full control of her Quirk, and that is something she's always wanted.
Amid the starlight is the ever glow of the moon, the dome of her existence lying in the sky, watching over every beating heart, steady and true. The full moon is even more captivating than the stars surrounding it.
Something that makes her happy are both the sun and the moon. Yet the latter has always had a more meaningful part in her life, even if she isn't certain as to why. The two sources of her flames are the charming gardeners who make her soul blossom.
Her lungs inflate with the onrush of the scenery around her—mountains, trees, air, and the moon.
Light shines into her features and on top of her head. Though the weather has a breeze to it, the light makes her feel warm at heart.
"I think..." she begins.
A smile finds its way to her lips, gazing at the beautiful moon.
Unbeknownst to her, a stray tear slips from the corner of her left eye. "I'm finally happy."
Yet the sight in front of her proves her completely wrong in the matter of seconds.
It hits her like a ton of bricks, really.
Right in front of her eyes is the entirety of the forest to be seen. It doesn't have the refreshing green hue as it always does, though.
No, it's burning in a sea of blues. Tendrils of smoke are desperately reaching into the sky, as if they're trying to escape the blazing inferno below.
"Can you reach it, Yue?"
The little kid was struggling to pick up the apple, her legs draped around her father's neck for guidance. "I-It's..." She reached further, her small fingers almost touching the tree.
"I have it!" the blue-haired kid exclaimed, smiling widely while tightly holding the green apple, which was bigger than the size of her hands.
Kaito mirrored her smile, letting her down carefully.
His brown eyes looked up at the beautifully colored green trees. The color was refreshing and lively.
"Yue," he began softly, catching her attention.
He continued gazing at the forest dreamily.
"Remember to always be kind to every living being, all right? They're nothing else than us. If you're mean to your friend, they'll be mean to you, too, right?"
Reluctantly, she nodded.
"Treat them as your equal, Yue. They're your friends as well."
He smiled lightly while locking his eyes with hers.
"What we are doing to the forest of the world is a reflection of what we are doing to ourselves and one another."
Back then she didn't understand what he meant.
Over time and the more she grew older, Yue realized that his words always held a stronger weight.
The soft smile that was always painted on his face was the hard contrast of the hurtful truth which is our reality.
Nature has always been something sacred to Yue and her family. Yet is is always what has torn them apart.
The mere image of the burning forest takes her elsewhere. Somewhere where the exact same scenario has already happened. It leaves Yue gasping for breath, body begging to move itself from the paralyzed state.
But she can't. She just can't.
Because it's a reminder of what she has lost.
That realization repeats like a mantra inside of her head, her jaw loosening as she grasps the full impact of them.
Like her old self, she watches the flames rip their way through every single tree surrounding it.
A stern voice inside of her head tells her to move, but she's unable to. She has completely immobilized. It would take a truck having to knock her over for her soul to reconnect with reality again.
Deeply, she's stuck in those memories.
"Don't let your past poison your energy."
Taiyo's voice cuts through almost too vividly, causing her to finally take a very needed breath again.
There's a loop of achievements spinning inside of her mind - showing the friendships she's made, the smiles she's won over, and the frail light that has entered her heart.
She's certain that Taiyo has created that beautiful spin-off, and she couldn't be more grateful.
Faces of her friends display in front of her; showing their troubled selves. It almost makes Yue livid.
She knows who started burning the forest down, and is ready to face him for one last rematch.
Her light feet carry her down the mountain, concentrating on any vibrations that are given by her seismic sense. Thinking of a strategy is what she would immediately do in such a situation, but she knows that she won't stick to it.
This isn't a normal attack. This is revenge.
Shirohono, surprisingly, has a cool mind. It's almost callous, merciless. Her face remains blank and her eyes are loose-lidded. Walking further down, she's reached the forest and steps right into it.
Yue raises her hands and breathes out calmly, and as she lowers them, the blue flames the trees were once caught in all extinguish into nothingness.
To compensate the new wave of heat, Shirohono remains on breathing thoroughly.
Saving the forest from torture wasn't the only thing she wanted to gain by that. It's a signal. A signal about where she is.
"You are granted permission to engage in combat!" Mandalay's telepathic skills cause her voice to ring in Yue's head.
Forming her hands into fists, she allows fire to adorn them viciously. Her eyes narrow.
Mandalay adds another message in a sudden, "Kacchan and Shirohono should try to avoid combat and acting independently!"
Vibrations pulse through her feet like a second heart. Yue halts in her steps. She senses the familiar silhouette, but stays in her stance.
"I knew that you'd come to put the fire away."
His voice is like it's always been - calm and composed, but with a tinge of a teasing tone.
"Haven't you noticed that kindness brings you nothing, Yue?"
Silence. She's dangerously silent and calm, and it almost surprises him.
He remember her as the girl who could never shut up and yelled at things both positive and negative. But that little kid is no longer present.
All of a sudden, she swiftly spins around and shoots a swish of blue fire by raising her hand and aiming it at him.
"What's wrong, Yue?" He's dodged her attack, grinning. "Aren't you happy to see me again?"
Staples attach his gnarled, purple skin together, but they don't stop him from smiling madly.
His name hasn't rolled off of her tongue in a while, and she doesn't even think of doing it again. He's trying to make her lose focus and grow livid—knowing that she loses control of her Quirk that way—but she's already aware of his intentions.
Her eyes have frozen over like the surface of a winter puddle, robbing them of their usual warmth. It isn't just the callous blue eyeballs, it is the intelligence and wrath behind them that do it.
In the gap between his and her eyes is a battle, and she stares at him without a blink. Others would alter their paths not to cross hers and stand further back than customary, yet he isn't like them.
Dabi thinks that he has her cornered, as she's unable to use her Quirk around the forest.
But he didn't process the idea of her running off suddenly, which she does.
On the other hand, Yue knows that combating against him would be pointlessly destructive. So, she dashes away for as long as it takes to let him face one of Aizawa or the other Heroes.
Yet she didn't measure him standing in front of her. Her eyes widen, shocked, as she takes steps back at him approaching him.
She doesn't know how he could be able to move so fast. It's impossible. It's almost as if she's cloned himself to be as fast as her and match her pace.
Gulping, she continues on staying silent while facing him, glancing at her area to come up with another plan.
Each of her features blossom to a more impatient state as he takes further steps toward her.
Abruptly, she takes a left and jumps up higher by the trees' thick branches. His mouth opens at that in slight surprise, but it's soon occupied with a smirk; ready to combat against her.
"Just like old times, eh?" He mutters.
As she jumps up from the highest branch of the tree, she's out of the forest's close sight, and so begins on using her flames to propel herself forward like a jet.
Unfortunately, he's fast on her feet, flying by the blue fire beneath his feet.
Unlike her, though, he has already put countless of trees on fire again. The burning greens sadden her, breath turning shaky.
Though she notices herself trailing off and is quick to put her focus on the significant matter, continuing to fly away from him. Both of them are well aware that she is simply more agile than he is.
Beneath them are the students and Heroes, watching them with pried eyes. If it were not for their cornered situation, they would've helped her, but they have to face their own enemies.
"Don't you know what day today is, Yue?"
At that, she frowns. He's only trying to mess with you, she reminds herself.
But as her view lands on the moon, her eyes widen in utter and complete fear.
Mesmerizing is what Yue would describe the moon as. Yet, during this time, it's the complete opposite. The moon isn't in its usual shining white. It's colored in a dark color, no light entering it.
Her breathing starts to get heavy as she feels her powers leaving her slowly yet surely.
Swallowing the lump in her throat, she tries to find a safe place to land before falling on the fire that will burn her up.
"It's happening," Dabi mutters under his breath, smirk growing in victory.
Bloody colors fill in the moon, indicating that a lunar eclipse has come through.
By orbiting Earth, the moon moves between it and the sun, which blocks the sun's light.
It's unbalanced. One of Yue's needed light source, the sun, is blocked by the moon itself.
Flames that were once shining in a majestic azure extinguish into nothingness. Shirohono is falling, and nothing can save her from landing face hard into Dabi's fire to burn her up.
Sure, fire that is less hotter than hers has no effect on her. She's used to the hottest part of the flame ever since she was little, but, frankly, Dabi's Quirk is as hot as hers. Flames that are either hotter or in the same degree as her will damage her.
Swiftly, Yue unwraps the fireproof bandages around her forearm and drapes it around her eyes in order to not turn constantly blind. It's the very least she can do.
No Hero is here to save her. It's no different experience from the same incident that happened years ago.
All she can do is accept her fate.
"Why are you so weak?" His callous voice yelled out, staring down at her crying form. "Stand up!"
"I-I can't!"
Tears profusely escaped her eyes because of the constant and severe pain, staring at her forearms; the blue flames ripping through her skin.
"It hurts!"
They were flamingly hot, burning the spots up until there was nothing but deep wounds left.
Wounds that turn into scars.
If her ears were not filled with her inner thoughts, she could heard how her classmates yelling out her name, absolutely and utterly worried.
"Why doesn't she put the fire away like she did at the Sports Festival?!" Todoroki asks in worry, voice raised.
Bakugou looks up at the sight, and his eyes widen. "Is she stupid or something? Does that dumb-ass think she's going for a splash in the water—"
He's quick on his feet, running toward her.
That is until countless of new blades are coming out of the villain's teeth. Todoroki is quick to block it by another block of ice.
"Don't do anything stupid!" He yells. "Shirohono never needs help of others. She can handle this."
His dual eyes gaze up at her falling, tone dropping as he adds rather uncertainly, "I'm sure of it..."
No searing pain goes through her body, though.
Yue frowns for a second as she feels herself in someone's arms, feeling thankful for a second, but those moments of appreciation disappear as soon as the familiar scent enters her nostrils.
Dabi holds tight onto her two wrists by one of his hand to keep her in his control, the other one holding her light body up. Due to him not letting go of her hands, she can't put the bandages around her eyes away.
Loudly, she voices out, "Put me down, you dumb fucking moron!" Yue vigorously wriggles in his hold, but the missing piece of light makes her less powerful in her physical strength as well. "I may not have my Quirk, but I sure as hell have my hands. Fight me like a real villain, ugly—"
"She's been hanging around too much with Bakugou," Kaminari states, eyes widened.
Sero nods along, adding, "He's a bad influence on her communication skills we've been trying to evolve."
"Stop swearing at me," Dabi mutters coldly, slightly affected by her vulgar choice of words.
In an instant, Yue retorts, "What are you gonna do about it? Cry? With what tear-ducts, honey?"
"You leave me no other choice..."
That's the last thing she remembers before passing out because of the syringe he has inserted in her arm.
Bakugou is at the end of the room that is filled with Villains, his body chained onto the chair he involuntarily sits on.
"I'll ask you one more time, aspiring Hero, Bakugou Katsuki. Will you join me?"
Instead of answering, his eyes wander around the place for a few times, wondering where the hell the other kidnapped person is.
"Don't worry about your friend," mentions Shigaraki as he notices his searching eyes. "She's with Dabi at the moment. She'll be back with us in a few."
Those lighthearted words only make the blond scowl, not reassured at all.
The light-blue-haired leader continues his blabbering, "The strange system of transforming people's lives into money or glory... The society that sticks right to those rules... The citizens who blame the losers rather than encouraging them... Our question is: What is a Hero? What is justice? It's this society truly just?"
"I bet your classmate agrees, Bakugou," he says now, which slightly confuses the said boy.
Not even a few seconds later, Dabi and Shirohono enter the room through the backdoor.
She has chains around her throat, hands, and feet. But they're different than Bakugou's. Her chained-up state consists of extremely thin strings that disable the usage of her Quirk. Only the shackles on her feet are normal ones.
They already had been informed about the fact that she can use her Quirk when the bottoms of her feet are free, so they took that as their advantage and locked her feet up completely.
Walking around like that is as hard as it sounds, and that is exactly why they constructed it as such. They know that she's abnormally fast and strategic, so the League of Villains were certain to scratch off any sudden attacks.
Before they allow her to go beside Bakugou, Dabi takes hold on her cold shoulder.
Yue's head is lowly casted on the floor.
"Don't forget about what I've said, Yue."
His sentence repeats like a mantra in her empty head. No emotions are written on her face, which is why nobody can read her at all.
With that, he releases his hold on her.
To say that Bakugou is confused and utterly curious would be an understatement. Questions of what the hell she has to do with him and why he is on first name base with her splutter around in his head.
"Oh, and if you're wondering why she has different chains than you," Dabi begins.
She knows what he's implying to, and if it wasn't for her absent mind, her heartbeat would raise in fear.
"l was so caring and thought that it would be very insensitive of me to put her in the same position she was in three years ago."
Slowly yet surely, Bakugou puts the missing pieces together.
His mouth parts ajar, eyes ripping to her still completely absentminded state. He's been making up theories about her for a very long time, and now he's got her figured out more and more.
Yue is seated down, head hanging lowly to face the floor. She doesn't even blink. Nor move, really.
She just sits there - not thinking, not feeling.
"Dabi, release the restraints," Shigaraki states.
Said man turns in slight puzzlement. "Huh? Yue won't fight, but the other guy will, you know."
"It's fine," he retorts, arms raised. "We have to treat them as an equal, since we're scouting them. Besides, you can tell if you'll win or not if you fight in this situation. Right, U.A. student?"
"Twice, you do it."
Twice first resists, but then does as Dabi says.
While he cuts the strings around Yue's body—who doesn't even register any of the happenings—the Villains continue speaking, but it is all inaudible to her. Mentally, she isn't even there anymore.
"Even though our situations differ, everyone here has been restricted and suffered." Shigaraki stands up from his seat. "Because of people... rules... and Heroes."
He stops in front of her, squatting down to search for her hollow eyes. "Right, Shirohono?"
As soon as Bakugou is freed from those shackles, he harshly pulls his classmate beside him by her arm, and attacks Shigaraki with his explosion.
"I listened quietly to your endless talking... and I don't know what the hell you idiots said to this dumb-ass to turn her this way..."!Bakugou's voice is raspy, irritation dripping from it. "Basically, you mean, 'We wanna harass people, so please join us,' right? Don't bother."
From Bakugou's determined sayings to Shigaraki's dangerously calm words, nothing enters her mind.
It's already so overfilled yet so empty at the same time. She can't register anything. Everything seems surreal to her. Like an illusion.
Out of nowhere, someone knocks on the door.
The wall is ripped apart only a few seconds later, Heroes coming to the rescue. Meanwhile the Heroes capture the Villains, the first thing Edgeshot does is glance around to find Yue.
He's relieved to say the least as he finds her. Yet he also notices the hollow demeanor she's locked in.
Nonetheless, he has to put professionalism first to save her and her classmate as well, and so opens the door for the police to enter.
"I'm sure you two were scared," All Might says, gazing at his students. "You did good bearing it."
More or less, considering that Bakugou is almost tearing up and Yue is half-dead.
"I-I wasn't scared!" He yells out. "Not even close, damn it!"
A grey substance suddenly emits out of their mouths, which transport them to a different place.
A tall man is standing right in front of them in the deserted area.
"Sorry, Bakugou, Shirohono," he says.
Even that isn't enough to pull her back to reality. As every suspenseful and nerve-racking event passes by, all Yue can do is stare at the ground.
All Might appears from the moon's sight to attack the tall man that is behind this entire happening.
The lunar eclipse is long over, considering that it only lasts for around seven minutes, but she still can't get herself to form a plan and escape. She can't even get herself to think in the first place.
Huge impact is made out of All For One's defense, knocking both of the students a few meters away.
They recover soon, and the tall man instructs Kurogiri to get them away.
Both of them stand in front of the Villains that are ready to take them to further places - not wanting to let go of this powerful duo.
Bakugou stands defensively in front of Yue, who still hasn't recovered.
The League of Villains are swift to attack the duo, yet Bakugou dodges their pounces. He knows that she's still occupied in her own mind, and so pushes her away by his Quirk to not let the Villains get her.
"Come to your damn senses, Fireball!" The blond yells at her in the process.
But to no avail. It's like she has disconnected herself from his world.
"I've always wanted a girlfriend!" Toga exclaims, running toward Yue with extended arms. "And she's super beautiful!"
"Hey, I can cut some of your pretty skin and then use the blood for your white hair!" She giggles. "We can have matching—"
Yet before she could continue, Bakugou sends a wide explosion her way. "God damn it, Shirohono! You're a fucking klutz! Do something!"
Suddenly, there's an iceberg building up from a corner, and a pack of kids gliding on top of it.
Bakugou looks up, already knowing what is going on.
"Come!" Kirishima yells while extending his hand.
All of a sudden, Bakugou grabs hold on Yue's hand, and then makes them fly by a gigantic explosion he creates by the other.
By holding onto Kirishima as well, they escape.
Turning her face around, the blue-haired girl looks down at Dabi, who has his eyes set on her as well.
"Shes gone, too! Twice cries out. "And we were so sure that she was gonna join! What are we going to do now?!"
"Don't worry."
Dabi stays unfazed about it. His low-lidded eyes are still fixated on her flying form.
"I have something else in mind."
"I know that you're going through a traumatizing event," the police officer begins again after Yue didn't answer his previously asked questions. "And the repetition of being kidnapped is even worse. We're just asking a few questions, and then you can go home and rest, okay?"
A gentle smile is on the middle-aged man's face, but she can't see it due to her gaze being located at the table.
Her silent state reminds Edgeshot of the first time she had been investigated. Hell, he's reminded of the first years she had to live in absolute void.
Beneath his mask, his lips curl downward. His heart clenches at the fact that he wasn't able to save her, once again.
To signal her that she isn't alone, he lays his warm hand on her shoulder.
But he immediately flinches as he comes in contact with her ice-cold skin.
It shocks him more than anything in the world. He's always been aware about the fact that her body heat changes according to an overflow of one specific emotion, but it has never happened to him in particular.
His touch makes her come back to reality.
In the split of a second, she realizes everything that has happened in the last hours. All emotions that were hidden behind the hollowness are coming back to her instantly.
Each of them display in front of her, but her focus is on only one.
Yue's eyes turn into a bloody red, jaw clenched.
Fun-Fact: There is no information to be found of Shirohono Yue on the internet. It had all been deleted once, which people like Hawks, and a few others that will be mentioned in the future, speculate.
