At first, when I was told I was to interview the world's fastest rising star of our decade, I was skeptical. Scarlett Cabello isn't considered 'young' anymore- her 30th birthday would be looming in under 4 months- yet I would think this fast-tracked fame had gone to her head.

Not at all. Not in the slightest. I became very humbled and welcomed by Cabello- whom I met in a studio in Chelsea, where she shares a home with actor Theo James.

"Hello! Hi! Please, have a cookie, they're not mine, but they taste like heaven!" She rambles when I enter the studio. Even with an army of hair and make-up professionals fussing around her, Scarlett manages to swat them away long enough to hug me. She was most certainly nervous- at that point of the interview I wouldn't know why, but she seemed to have plans of her own.

Prior to the interview, I listened to all three of Cabello's singles for her second studio album, Almost Is Never Enough, and was left impressed. Cabello has a way of manouvering her emotions in a lyrical beat, seemingly making the listener feel related to the song in some way. It was truly magical.

So what makes her so creative? "Oh, I don't know! I've always had a creative streak in me, and I was absolutely appaling at song writing when I was a teen, I just tried to make everything rhyme and then it didn't make sense!" She gushes, the multitask of changing outfits, taking photos, and thinking of what to say to me, took my breath away.

I ask her if she took any tips from her sister Camila Cabello, who found fame almost a decade before her younger sister on the X Factor with her former band Fifth Harmony. She now has had a sucessful solo career for almost 6 years.
"When I was in uni making silly compositions, I used to breakdown on the phone to my sister, and I kept asking her how she did it. I wanted the talent she had, and I definitely always did somewhere, but I just needed that little push to make me realise it."

It seems Cabello had grown up a lot since her discovery almost 3 years ago at the matured age of 25, moreso matured than the stars finding fame these days.

For the whole of her career, she had been battling fans to urge them to concentrate on her music more than her past rumoured relationship with Spiderman Tom Holland. They are life long friends, and although recently suffered several public fights, one of which led to Scarlett moving out of their 3 bedroom home worth £1.5million in July.

"I will always love him, he's my best friend, forever and always, and I don't know what I'd ever do without him. He's my rock." She whispers, cowering her head to try and cover the small blush creeping on her cheeks, but she couldn't avoid it.

And although she admits that she wrote pop-ballad duet 'Lost Into You' with close friend Oliver Coren, she also confides that it wasn't romantic in any sense, but more dwelling on the change of moving out of her home with Tom to (very shortly) live by herself.

The same could be said for actor Theo James, too. The 34 year old had been seen with Cabello since July, and they confirmed their relationship on Instagram in mid- September, weeks after this interview. Yet she confirmed it to me secretly, knowing the publication date would be set for late in the year, referring to him as 'her handsome Theo'.

The couple have gone from strength to strength together, attending their first public event together the night after their candid confirmation, and moving into Cabello's Chelsea home in early October.

"I'm usually quite private about my life, and sharing something so personal like my boyfriend is thrilling, but it has its down's, too." Scarlett explains to me when I ask her about a relationship in the public eye.

"But I hope people don't just see me for my relationship, I want them to see them for my hard work that I've put into this album." Cabello adds, and she isn't wrong.

It came as a shock to me when I got a phonecall a week ago from Scarlett herself, asking me to come with a photographer to 'finish the interview' she said on the phone.

When I arrived, she was as welcoming, with James stuck like glue by her side, and she ushered me inside before glinting the 9 carat gold pear ring that layed on her ring finger.

"I've never been happier, and I want to share it with you. Call it, I don't know, official confirmation?" Scarlett glowed, and she couldn't take her eyes off of her fiancé, who was the same with her. You can tell the happy couple were both head over heels in love, and no one could stop them.

When I ask if they have a date for the wedding, Scarlett answers quick and excitedly, the answer already mapped out in her head;
"We don't know, not for certain, but I want it to be sometime in the late spring next year."
