Two weeks later, Scarlett was sitting in a meeting with her manager about sales for God is a Woman. The past fortnight had gone past in a blur for Scarlett, and she wasn't totally sure what she had done in that time, but she knew that the more days that passed, the closer the release of goodnight n' go comes.

"God is a Woman is still number 1 in 30 countries! Your peak was 72, which is the best you've ever done. This album is expected to get to number 1 on Billboard, congratulations, Scarlett." The manager beams, and Scarlett squeals in her seat, unable to contain her excitement.

"This is amazing!" Scarlett claps her hands in joy, letting her manager speak for some more.

"Now, goodnight n' go is already highly anticipated because you dropped the name of album 2." Scarlett nods, a pen in her hand in case any notes needed to be made.

"We release it from here in London, but you need to promote the hell out of it. This week on your Instagram I want to see nothing but promos for gng."

"Done."

Tom sighs as he stares at Sophie's cousin's contact on his phone. It would be the fifth time he would let her down, and he decided it would be the last.

He realised trying to desparetely date just because you're 29 and your youth is escaping you, isn't for him.

"Hey, Martha!"

"Tom! I heard you're going away?"

Tom sighed, shit. His Instagram. He posted that he was going away before even thinking about Martha, too excited about the prospect that he would be able to spend the launch of Scarlett's new single with her.

"Yeah, and I think you can guess what I'm going to say." Tom was firm, because he knows he can't beat around the bush with this sort of thing.

"Look, you know I'm busy. We live quite far away, and my schedule is just super unexpected. It can't work!" Adamant he did the right thing, Tom sighed, filling with relief. A weight had been lifted.

"Ugh I knew it."

"Knew what?"

"Just stop hiding from the world that you and that Scarlett are a thing so the world can stop conspiring for a min." Martha almost yells into the phone, and Tom breathes through his nose, anger slowly rising through his blood.

"And it's people like you who need to know that they're just rumours because- heads up! It's 2018. Men and women can have a loving platonic relationship. Good day."

That was Tom's last chance at dating this year.
