Chapter Fourteen
I didn't talk to anyone during the weekend as I had been to busy training with Natasha and checking out the Compound.
Today was the last day I'd get to see Liz. I walked up to her after the bell for school ending rang. she was holding back tears, bringing me into a close hug. "I'll miss you so much, Liz you don't even know."
I heard her laugh quietly as she wiped away a tear. "I'll miss you too. I think you should go see Peter, he looked like he was in rough shape." She said as I nodded, venturing off to find Peter.
"I haven't seen him all day... Is he ignoring me?" I said to myself as I found him and Ned talking. I stopped in the middle of the hallway as he turned to face me. He had a bruise under his eye and a busted lip. And from what I can tell, he probably had more around his body from the way he was standing.
Ned looked between us, have a nervous laugh to Peter, and bolted out the door as Peter turned to me slowly. "Peter Benjamin Parker what the fu-"
"Megan please don't say anything." He pleaded as I grabbed his shoulders, inspecting his injuries as he flinched in pain.
"What the hell, Peter?! Who keeps doing this to you? Is it Flash?! I swear if he didn't listen to me I'll kill-"
"It wasn't Flash!" Peter blurted. I blinked, looking up at him.
"Then who was it, Peter? Because it sure as hell wasn't Aunt May! Who is doing this?" Peter looked between my eyes before looking down, shaking his head.
"I- I can't tell you, Megan." He whispered as I removed my hands, backing up just a little bit as I frowned. I could feel my heart ache, knowing that Peter wouldn't tell me.
"Then I guess until you are ready to tell me thee truth, I'll be removing your number from my contacts." I turned on my heel, walking away.
I could hear Peter stuttering as he questioned to tell me.
All of a sudden, there was a small woosh, something grabbing my back. I yelped as I was pulled back, spinning around into Peter's chest. His arms wrapped around me in a tight hug as he rested his cheek on the top of my head.
"Peter what the hell-!" I said as I pushed him away, staring at the two things that wrapped around his wrists.
I know that tech.
My eyes widened as I slowly looked at him, his full filled with fear and nervousness. "You... You're-"
"Spider-Man..." he whispered as I ran a hand through my hair.
"Holy shit. holy SHIT. Peter I need to tell you something and you have to promise me you won't say a single thing about this to anyone." I said, placing back and forth as J clasped my hands together.
"Yeah..?"
"I'm Tony Stark's daughter." I said quietly as Hax already worked on deleting any security camera footage about the last 2 minutes.
"Yeah... I know." He said as I stopped, looking at him.
"You do?! Wha- How?"
"Uh, well I had my speculations. First there was you not allowing anyone over at your house, then there was Happy. Then all the tech and how incredibly smart you are. And then of course was Happy accidentally telling me at homecoming."
I audibly groaned, looking up as I rubbed my hands over my face. "So that's why you left? Because you got scared that I was his daughter?" I asked as Peter shook his head.
"No! No no it was because of Liz's dad." I frowned as my phone rang.
["Megan where are you? School ended 15 minutes ago."] Happy said as I looked at Peter.
"Yeah. Yeah I'm coming Happy." I said as I quickly hung up. I took Peter's hands in mine, looking up at him.
"This literally changes nothing about how our friendship will be Peter. But next time, try makeup for the bruises." I patted him on the chest as he smiled, bringing me into another hug.
I felt my cheeks burn as he kissed the top of my head lightly, most likely hoping I wouldn't notice.
"What would I do without you?" Peter asked with a smile. I giggled, shrugging.
"Probably still be talking to Ned." I said as I ran out the door.
I slammed Happy's door shut, a frown on my face. "YOU TOLD PETER?!" I yelled, causing Happy to jump.
"Did he tell you he knew?!" Happy said as he turned around.
"No. I told him I was Tony's daughter after he told me he was Spider-Man. What the hell, Happy?!" I said as he started to drive off.
"You know, it was getting difficult to hide the fact that Peter worked for your dad from you. But now that Peter knows, I think your dad trusts Peter more than Landon." I shrugged as I nodded.
"Yeah... Landon hasn't been the best at keeping secrets, but he's doing really well at keeping this one."
Poor Megan. If only I had known the things Landon would end up saying, and doing to ruin me and Peter's lives.
I thought I could trust him. But really, he just stabbed me in the back and dragged that knife down over jealousy.
And the things Peter will be doing to protect the girl he likes.
That's just the beginning.
