The Blue's

'I hate morning people'

Waking up before 7 should be illegal.

Avneet glared at her classmates as they laughed hysterically at some stupid joke .

It was fucking 7 a.m.

She banged her head on the table when she saw Mrs.Smith enter the class. Mrs.Smith was in her late 40's with extreme arrogance filled within her. She always spoke so loudly which sometimes caused her a headache. Even a body would rise up from it's corpse , tape her mouth and die again.

Mathematics. She hates it with all her heart. It is a hell on earth. She still didn't get the point of it, what is the benefit of studying maths? She'll never know.

She barely kept her eyes open in the lecture. She still couldn't understand how her professor had an audacity to teach integration at 7 in the morning.

Then, the next class was civics. Great. She 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘴 civics. Note the very obvious sarcasm there. She didn't want to have a career in politics so why in the hell she has to study it. It's bullshit. Every subject is bullshit. And the fucking school is bullshit, too.

She stumbled on her way to the cafeteria , tripping on her own foot for the third time today.

The cafeteria was crowded with the students chatter which caused her head to ache more.

'I need a coffee. Now. '

But she wasn't going to bear the loud chatter of the students just to taste a coffee which tasted like charcoal. So she started a way out of the compound to the nearest café. Even the cafeteria was bullshit. Everything tasted like garbage there, she would never forget the cardboard taste of the pizza.

Avneet opened the door ringing the bell alerting a new customer. She stood in the line which moved fairly quickly and soon she was at the front.

She looked up from her phone ready to bark about her order when she saw the guy at the register.

He looked like a Greek god to her. Jet brown messy hair,  hazel eyes, soft plump lips...

'Am I in heaven? '

His eyes... It was her favorite colour from today. They almost looked like her favorite coffee. COFFEE.

The guy gave her a lopsided smile "Hi. What would you like to have today? "

'Your number would be great' she thought

The two stood there, Avneet trying not to gape at him and the guy maintaining his cheerful customer dealing attitude.

As the time stretched and Avneet didn't even replied him, his face sank in confusion.

"What? Is there something on my face? "

'I wouldn't mind putting my lips on it' she daydreamed again

'Wait what?? focus Avneet'

"Oh.. Uh.. Sorry just zoomed out . Okay.. So.. Can I have a HAZELnut coffee please? "

The guy frowned and asked
" Uh anything else? "

Avneet looked at her phone cheking the time , she still has time to sit and eat.She scanned the baked goods on display.
'It seems like they are having some kind of blue colour theme today'

"What's with the blue food today? Did someone got crazy with blue dye? "

She bit her bottom lip as she realized a second too lately that must've sounded as an insult.

" Ah you could say that " He scratched his neck awkwardly and smiled sheepishly.

'How attractive'

" It's my first day at work and my favorite color is blue so the manager let me do a ' blue Tuesday special' . But I think I got high on my on coffee and went overboard on the dye " he chuckled

'Damn it Avneet, you insult such a cute guy on his first day of work. Superb way to make friends. Proud of you, great going'

" But I swear they taste good, blue chocolate chip cookies are my personal favorite. You should definitely try them"

She nodded vigorously at his suggestion,
' I might crack my neck'

" Yeah sure, blue is my favorite too."

' Maybe'

Nonetheless she smiled showing her 32 teeths to make him believe that lie.

" I'll have two of them please"

'Now shut up before you embarrass yourself more '

He smiled at her

' Oh god how much I love that smile'

"Name? "

"Avneet"

His happy smile dropped for a second morphing into a confused one then resurfacing with a more genuine one now. He chuckled a bit , his eyes glistening for a very moment.

"Nice to meet you Avneet , but I meant the name for your order "

'Oh right'

Her cheeks were on fire, the girl behind her stiffled a giggle. She closed her eyes, embarrassed.

'Great going Avneet'

The guy chuckled again and his warm sound did not send a shiver in her body.

'Shut up'

" I'll just write Avneet then. Nice name by the way"

And then he winked. WINKED.

'Dear Lord please don't kill me with those actions of him '

Before she suffered from any sudden fainting spells, she quickly paid for her order and walked (ran) away to the farthest seat she could find .

Avneet heard someone call her name again and again. It was familiar though. She looked around to find Bhavesh, a regular worker here AND one of her closest friend, waving at her. She stood up as he called her to collect her order now in a paper bag.

Bhavesh smiled as she arrived at the counter " Hello there, Kaur. How are you this lovely Tuesday morning? "

" Just give me the coffee, Bhavesh" she  replied in a bored tone

Bhavesh pouted and handed over the paper bag containing her 'blue chocolate chip cookies' suggested by the Hazel guy but he refrained from giving her the coffee holding it in his hands high up in the air.

She gave him an irritated look,

' He knows very well how much I need coffee to shred off my morning sickness and YET he's acting like an asshole '

" That was rude, Kaur. After getting ready your coffee, your fuel, your liquid boost to get you throughout your boring day , you won't even give me simple 'hello' ? " He pouted again

She rolled her eyes at him " You know very well how I am at morning, Bhavesh. I won't socialize until least noon, I need to get some coffee in me. Right NOW."

He smiled knowingly " Yeah , I know. Mornings aren't your cup of 𝘤𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘦 "

"Nope" I popped the p as I reached out for the coffee.

"Ah, ah, ah.. " He moved the cup out of my reach, His friendly smile turning into a mischievous smirk " Not until you say hello and thank you"

I glared at him "Why do you torture me so much? "

He snorted "It's hardly called a torture"

I sighed in annoyance " Just give me my fucking coffee, Bhavesh"

He gasped " Such language. Where are your manners Kaur? Lady it's not correct to use such harsh words on your dear friend . I can file up a case against you for sexual harassment."

" Don't provoke me to kick your ass, Balchandani. You'll regret it dearly."

" Oh my god. This lady is trying to kill me. Someone help me. " Bhavesh acted horrified

Avneet intensified her and yelled at him " Bhavesh "

"Kaur"

Before she could snatch her drink from his hands, the Hazel guy came from behind and snatched it instead.

"Hey"  Bhavesh exclaimed

The hazel eyed guy handed her the drink glaring a little at bhavesh " Here you go, Avneet"

Avneet blushed " Thank you , at least someone here has manners" she said the last part glaring at Bhavesh.

"You literally refused to say thank you when I was handing you your drink"
Bhavesh cried

She ignored him and focused my eyes on the Hazel eyed guy.

'I would jump in that honey pool and happily drown myself.'

She couldn't brush off the fact that their fingers brushed while he handed her the drink.

They stood there for a moment, but someone definitely had to ruin it.

Avneet rolled hee eyes as Bhavesh coughed hysterically to gain thier attention.

"Sorry to interrupt , but I have to attend to the register as 'someone' left it unattended" He smiled sweetly at the guy.

" Im sorry, I'll go -"

"No, no. I've got it. I'll just leave you two to talk " Bhavesh wiggled his eyebrows at Avneet with a playful smirk , sending thumbs up at her as he walked towards the register.

She shook her head, after all he can't be always stupid .

They stood there awkwardly for a moment before he spoke up.

"Uh.. Sorry about him. He just acts weird sometimes and tries to find entertainment where ever he can "

" Oh no, it's fine. I'm used to him." She smiled fondly at him

He frowned and an unknown emotion formed in his eyes "Oh.. Are you two- ? "

She frowned in confusion before it hit, her eyes widened and she rushed to explain " Oh no. No, no, no. We're just friends. I'm not dating anyone, completely single here ! "

He blinked at her response, a little startled. She groaned internally at her stupidity.

' Stupid'

'I hate myself'

Then he laughed, so genuinely. It literally sounded music to her ears.

'I take it back, anything that can make him laugh like that is worth the embarrassment'

The (absolutely breathtaking guy) grinned and leaned forward on the counter "Do you have any other classes today? "

"Uh.. Yeah I have three more classes. But the next one's not until 10 " she replied looking at her watch

"Perfect, my break is in 5 minutes," he brushed a strand of hair off her face "-would you be willing to wait for me ? "

'In a heartbeat, I can wait forever'

"Uh, sure? "

He grinned wider now " Excellent.Oh, the name's Siddharth by the way"

With one last smile he walked off to his register to relieve bhavesh off his duty.

'What just happened? '

'Am I dreaming? '

She walked to her seat still recovering from the fact that 'HIS HANDS CARESSED MY CHEEKS' and she finally looked down at her drink .

She saw her name on the cup written in a sprawling script and beneath it was a phone number with a winky face and a little note :

'If you were ground coffee, you'd be espresso. Coz you're so fine ;)'
