  ————- Aka the German word for Soldier or Soldiers,   
             KATRINA SCHMIDT, now a cunning 18 year old, German by birth—American by heart; having lived there most of her life— she admired the great country. But when Germany starts World War 2, she answers the call and joins the Wehrmacht with her brother even against her mother's wishes just to please her father. It proved difficult being a freshly graduated nurse—straight out of training. But her father, being peculiar, used his rank to provide her well off in a position in the Deutsches Rotes Kreuz ( German Red Cross.)

She proudly served by tending to the wounded in the invasion of Poland and in the beginnings of the invasion of France along with her brother; Peter. But tragedy strikes... After that, her mother sends her to America to live with her aunt Rosa like before so she doesn't have to go through the pain of losing another. While in America, she befriends the neighbor's son, young man named Eugene Sledge and as well as his friend Sidney Philips.

But that becomes a distance memory when Katrina learned of the war effort as she was eager to join and fight, even if it had meant fighting against her own people. She faced some struggles but always seems to over come them while in combat medic training. Thinking she'd never see that Alabama boy again but she'd be wrong because, instead of going over to Europe, she's sent to the pacific to fight against the Japanese... where there she's reunites with someone she thought she'd never see again

But what will happen when their friendship is put to the test ——————

      | CHARACTERS: Katrina Schmidt is my character, she is described as being courageous at certain times, cunning for her age and the will to do what's right. She's also determined to show her worth and puts up a fight, and lets people who annoy her know what's on her mind. Everyone will see her growth throughout the story and how she learns to deal with tragedy |

| Katrina Schmidt is German, hence is why German will be the second language used in this. I will say that my German is little rusty since I haven't spoken it in a while so bare with me so there may be some slip ups. When Katrina is talking German( which will be rare) I will have the English translation right next to it at the end of the sentence. When this book is finished, I will have an appendix made with all the words & weapons used.

CONTINUING | Ok I really like The Pacific ALOT and honestly, Eugene just needs some loving, with that being said I will try and stay true to the actual historical events but like most things, it might get stretched a bit.
Also again I'm going to repeat this, I did am wanting to insult the real people who risked their lives and fought in the war...
