IZUKU AND RYU sat outside the school on one of the benches in the courtyard, Izuku was leaning against Ryu's shoulder with his eyes closed as he snoozed in the late day sun. Training had taken a lot out of him and he was glad he and Ryu had the same free period. They had decided to sit in the courtyard and enjoy the sun before the final bell of the day rang, they were both planning on studying but Izuku had started dozing off not even five minutes into sitting down leaving Ryu to work on his laptop studying alone. 

Izuku stirred at the sound of someone approaching, he blinked blearily and looked back to Present Mic walking outside looking down at his phone. "I swear to god, he spawns at the most random times." He muttered leaning back against Ryu making Ryu look down at him in confusion, Izuku nodded his head back towards Mic and Ryu looked back before grinning.

"Maybe it's the universe telling you something," Ryu teased and Izuku lightly hit his thigh. 

"Shut the fuck up." Izuku grumbled leaning away from him to lay down on the bench, using his arm as a pillow, hoping to continue his nap.

but of course, he wasn't that lucky.

"Hey little listeners! Enjoying the sunshine?" Mic asked as he walked up behind the bench, Izuku held back a groan as he tried burying his face in his arm. Ryu smiled at him and nodded before lightly hitting Izuku's foot, Izuku hummed not wanting to be pulled into the conversation. "Training really takes it out of ya, doesn't it Rockstar?" 

Izuku looked up at him and nodded before dropping his head, "sorry about him, he's a hermit and doesn't like exercise." Ryu teased making Izuku kick him in the side. 

Mic laughed and nodded, "I totally get it, my first training class put me out of commission for a whole weekend." Ryu chuckled rubbing the spot where Izuku kicked him, "but anyways, what are you guys doing out here?"

"Well Izu here, is a cat and loves to sunbathe, and I have to chaperone because he won't wake up to catch the train home." 

"That was one time!" Izuku whined rolling over to lay on his back, Mic chuckled and patted Izuku's shoulder.

"It happens to the best of us, but cat? I thought he was a bird?" Izuku shot up and looked at him in confusion, "I caught some of your match, your quirk is pretty cool."

"You haven't told him about your quirk?" Ryu questioned closing his laptop, Izuku shook his head. 

"I haven't told anyone, telling people gives away weaknesses." Izuku muttered looking away, Ryu and Mic frowned.

"Well I don't think I'll be using any of your weaknesses against you anytime soon, could you tell me about it?" Mic asked, he walked around the bench and sat down in the space Izuku was laying in.

Izuku looked at Ryu who just nodded and Izuku sighed.

"It's an animal transformation quirk mixed with a fire quirk, I can transform into different animals and depending on the form I choose I can use my fire quirk with it." Izuku explained holding up his hand to show a small blue flame dancing in his palm. Mic nodded listening carefully, "and I can use my animal quirk without fully transforming, as you saw earlier."

"That's really cool! I think I get why you used nanotech for your hero costume now, so it's easier to use the animal quirk without having to cut holes in your clothes right?" Mic thought out loud before turning to Izuku with a questioning look, Izuku nodded a small smile finding it's way onto his face. 

"You are the only person who actually put thought into why I designed his costume like that, thank you for admiring my hard work!" Ryu grinned and Izuku rolled his eyes.

"Our hard work, thank you." the two started bickering making Hizashi smile as he watched them.

The classroom was filled with chatter, today was the day of the USJ trip something all the students of 3A have been looking forward to for weeks. Izuku on the other hand, wasn't as excited. He was finally getting used to the normal school schedule and now they were fucking it all up by throwing a field trip in the mix, it totally wasn't like he knew about this trip 2 weeks in advance and had the time to mentally prepare himself. Aizawa quieted the class down before explaining the plan for the day, Izuku sat back in his seat listening intently. he had been to the USJ before with his trainer during the summer before school, it's a really cool place that Izuku enjoyed exploring after training was over, 13 would take him around and explain the mechanics of all the different zones which helped Izuku become better. 

Aizawa released the class to grab their costumes and head out towards the bus, the other students flocked to their cases while Izuku waited an extra minute or two for everything to be less crowded.

"Not one for crowds, huh?" someone asked over his shoulder, Izuku looked back to see Tokoyami standing behind him. Izuku gave him a small smile and shook his head. "Me either, I don't think we've officially met, I'm Tokoyami Fumikage." The boy held out his hand and Izuku shook it.

"Izuku Midoriya, nice to meet you." Izuku stood glancing at the cases where a few students mulled around talking about their costumes before looking at Tokoyami who nodded and followed him to the racks. 

"Likewise, I have a question." Izuku raised a brow as he grabbed his case, "how did you get into this class in 3rd year?"

"It's a long story," Izuku sighed as they walked out of the classroom and towards the locker rooms.

"I hope you trust me enough to tell it one day." Tokoyami stated stopping in front of the boy's locker room. 

"I will," Izuku smiled before offering Tokoyami a small wave and departing for the small locker room he was assigned.

Changing was quick, Izuku was walking out of the locker room in less than five minutes looking down at his phone with a grin as he and Ryu joked about being broke. Izuku was about to send an out of pocket reply about making an onlyfans account when he heard his name being called. Looking down the hall he saw Present Mic smiling and waving at him. ok seriously, how the fuck does he do that?  Izuku thought to himself as he let Mic catch up to him.

"A little birdy told me you're going on a field trip today," Mic grinned throwing his arm over Izuku's shoulder as he fell into step with the young man.

"I would think Aizawa's more like a goth butterfly." Izuku commented nonchalantly making Mic snort and break out laughing. As Hizashi wiped tears from his eyes he thought maybe Midoriya was finally coming out of his shell, but he didn't want to push it. 

"Yes, well that goth butterfly," Hizashi had to restrain himself from bursting out laughing as he said it, "said you have a field trip today, are you excited?"

"Yeah, the USJ is pretty cool, the different zones are fun to train in." Izuku hummed as they walked towards the front doors of the school where most of his classmates were waiting. 

"You've been there before?" Mic questioned pausing mid step, no students had been to the USJ before especially not tech support students. Izuku realized what he had just done and quickly shut it down.

"No! I just looked it up online after we were told about it! I meant to say the zones look fun to train in, I uhm, I think Iida's calling for me I got to go!" Izuku rambled before practically sprinting out the front doors. Smooth.

Mic frowned and furrowed his brows watching the green haired boy run to his classmates, he felt that Izuku was slowly opening up only to shut it down twice as quick. It made him a bit sad as it felt that Izuku didn't trust him enough to hold an actual conversation with him without cutting it short and running away, but it also made him more curious, was Izuku hiding something? He was hell bound on finding out.
