I had once been powerful. I had thought that true power lies in the fact that you can disguise any lie as truth. But that's not it. All I had ever been in my life was a monster. At Least that's what my own people called me behind my back.

I had dived into that river. It's colour bloodshot and reminding me of all I had done. It was time, to reap the fruit of my sins….

Now I sit at the shore watching the horizon where the sky gently kisses the sea. Where the sun is trying it's best to emerge from inside the deep covers of the ocean.

He has no wounds on his beautiful body. His skin shines in the rays of the sun breaking through the clouds and rising.  He smiles at the emerging ball of fire, feeling a new emotion. This time it was a lot lighter and better than his past feelings.

All he thinks now is how he's free from all that he did. Now, he has no past to go back to, and no future to worry about. As the sun rays fall upon and move through him, he feels light hearted and at peace with himself.

He had reaped what he had sown. And the almighty had blessed him with peace. Now he had not a thing in the world that he would be worried about. Except one.
The boy. He had managed to get him out, but his thoughts ran back to the kid, who reflected his brother's face, and his own innocence. That's what he was at heart now. An innocent kid of God, who was now in a new life.

He was not given a second chance. But he didn't completely perish either.

         In the end all he could think is…

It was not a blessing. But it was far from a curse.
