Noxara Darkling, better known as Nox, was born in the Realm of Nightmares as the only daughter of Pitch Black, the King of Nightmares. Growing up, she was raised in the shadow of her father's dark ambitions. While Pitch sought to spread fear across the world, Nox had her own thoughts on how fear should be wielded. She believed that fear wasn't just a tool to control—it was something that could be refined and used for her own personal gain.

Her relationship with her father was complex. Pitch constantly pushed Nox to be more like him, but she struggled with being his mere heir. She had her own vision, wanting to take fear and nightmares in a new direction. Still, the pressure to live up to her father's legacy weighed heavily on her.

After learning about the school in Auradon, Nox saw it as an opportunity to break free from her father's influence and forge her own path. She decided to attend Auradon Prep to learn more about the outside world and how she could use her abilities to gain more control.
