CHAPTER TWO

━  TOM LAY IN BED, the silk, green covers twisted and shoved around him. His clothes lay discarded in a haphazard fashion along with some girls. Judging by the red crest, she was a Gryffindor.

He looked down boredly at the mop of brown hair laying on his chest. A flicker of annoyance crossed his face before he slid out of the bed, careful not to wake her. Usually, his one night stands made themselves scarce before he woke up, saving him from putting on a charming facade so early in the morning.

He glanced around his dorm room, realising that besides the girl and himself- he was alone. It was to be expected. His room mates knew better then to interrupt Tom during such time's. It's not like he was looking for them in general, he was only interested in one person so early in the morning.

And it wasn't the girl.

He pulled on his boxers and pants, not bothering with a shirt as he slid his fingers through his hair to tame it. Quietly, he stepped out of the room. Wondering where his friend would've slept if not in their dorm.

He didn't have to think too long though, for he spotted Icarus by the roaring fire sitting cross legged on the floor, hunched over school work.

He approached him. The room was in a comfortable silence, only broken by the crackle from the fireplace and their light breathing.

"There you are," Tom suddenly spoke up, standing directly behind him with a lazy smirk on his face.

Icarus looked over his shoulder in confusion- until he realised it was in fact Tom standing there. A small smile pulled at his lips before he scooted over, giving the boy room to sit. "Good morining, you're up late."

"Am I?" He frowned. "What time is it?"

"Six am."

"Damnit."

"Good night?"

"Boring. I felt entirely uncomfortable through out the entire process," Tom inspected his nails. "They're all the same."

Icarus hummed. "Perhaps your asexual."

"Perhaps. Where's Malfoy and Black?"

"Black's asleep in one of the spare dorm's, but Abraxas spent the night with two Hufflepuff girls."

"Of course he did. What about you?" Tom asked, leaning back on the leather couch so their shoulders brushed. "Did you have fun last night? It certainly seemed so by how that Gryffindor was shoving her tongue down your throat."

Icarus tensed, every cell of blood in his body went haywire trying to restart his heart that seemed to stop when they had even the smallest of contact. "No," He said finally. "I... I just couldn't get into it. Not like Abraxas, at least."

"Nobody can get into it like Abraxas, that's his whole reason for existing," He said with a small chuckle.

Icarus forced a smile, "So it would seem,"

The both basked in the silence by the warmth of the fireplace, simply enjoying each others company.

"Whats todays plan, anyway?" Icarus leaned back against the sofa, eyes following Tom sharp jawline as the boy began to speak. "Class. Then I have some business to attend to."

"Anything I can help with?"

Tom looked at him a smirk, "You couldn't even begin to understand, small one,"

Icarus laughed to himself, "Do try me, I'm curious,"

The boy beside him considered for a moment. "I need to leave Hogwarts grounds for it."

Icarus arched a brow, "Is that so? I was under the impression you couldn't wait to come back to Hogwarts, and now you want to leave?"

"I'll be back by tomorrow morning. It's just business, it won't take long."

Icarus exhaled softly through his nose, returning to his school work. "If that's so, why do it now? Why not during summer?"

Tom didn't like Icarus' attention being taken from him, so he tugged the homework from Icarus' hands and put it in his own lap and began to read. "Mind your own business, Zabini."

"Get your own homework, Riddle."

"Why, when I can simply point out all the mistakes in yours?"

Icarus took back his homework while Tom laughed at him. "One day, Riddle, you will find something you simply can't take for yourself. Or someone."

Tom leaned closer to him with an open-mouth grin. "Oh really? Are you implying I could have whoever I wanted at this moment in time?"

Icarus eyed him warily, "You're... so odd. Go get ready, Riddle. We have potions in ten minutes,"

"Slughorn won't care."

"But my father will. Shoo,"

"Do not shoo me,"

"Shoo,"

Tom sighed heavily, "You used to be fun." He thought silently for a moment. His dark eye's dragged over the white shirt on Icarus' back, admiring, before stopping at the bottom.

"Your father hit you again,"

Icarus re-tucked his shirt and ignored him.

Tom sighed.

His trip was going to take longer then originally anticipated.
