Hear the World| JJK FF
By Vanice Shao
"Use your board!"
I lip read my father's words and scowled. Ugh, no!
I hissed in irritation as I fumbled for that stupid whiteboard and marker again.
Every single time I signed to my father in ASL, he would either wave his hand dismissively or demand me to write whatever I had to say on that stupid board.
For 15 years, with nothing but a board to communicate with... I'm pretty sure that my father is crazy. Never have I seen a gesture of love towards me, or a helping hand to guide me. All I had was ASL in this silent world of nothing.
I've always dreamed of being normal. To be able to hear myself or to be able to hear my father say "I love you". But I know that that wish won't be getting fulfilled anytime soon.
Why do the bad things only happen to me? Before the accident, my father was caring; now, our relationship was hanging by a thread, barely being able to hold up. It was like we were never family...
"Every rose has its thorn"
Back story:
Y/n was involved in an accident which caused her hearing loss. Y/n's father was never the same ever since the accident because of Y/n's mother's death. She was blamed of her mother's death and she had nobody but a caring neighbor to help her occasionally. Y/n is now transferring schools again but this school has hearing kids, making her the only deaf one.
Will Y/n be able to have a better life? Or does life have other plans for her?
What to Expect:
Y/n's past is very dark, so some things in the book may trigger some readers. This book is a somewhat sad and happy story, but not all of the chapters are what you'll expect. At some point, there will be some sensitive topics that might also trigger some readers as well, so be aware.
Attention:
Just so you know, Y/n is deaf, so there will be sign language used in this story. The dialogue that is in Italics are the ones signed by Y/n and other people who will also sign in this story(I'm not going to spoil that part). The dialogue that is bolded will be people speaking out loud. I'm doing this so readers can easily distinguish between the signed dialogue and the spoken one.
Note:
This story is loosely inspired by GUCCIBOI- 's stories.
