CHAPTER SIX

Jasmine grinned slyly as she looked herself in the mirror. It had taken her a while to convince Siruis she was fine and to tell Remus vaguely what happend in the future, three days to be exact. Thankfully Remus remained calm and agreed whole heartedly to be obliviated when the time came.

The first Hogsmeade weekend had came up and Lily took the opportunity to finally get Jasmine to herself and have a 'girly day'.

Yippee.

But, the fact was, she didn't regret coming in the slightest as she checked out her new hair colour- blonde.

Lily had giggled her head off with the thought of what the boys- more specifically Siruis -would say when they saw their best friends new look. It was common knowledge that particular hair colour was his weakness. The two walked the streets of Hogsmeade chatting animatedly, Lily had yet to get used to Jasmines quirky style as she sported a brown ripped cropped top with yellow tinted glasses, black boots and ripped blue jeans along with her signature hat and many studded earings.

"Honestly, does everyone in America dress like that?"

Jas shrugged casually. "I don't know why it bothers you so much- you're starting to sound like my brother."

The red head huffed, "Well, clearly your brother has some common sense."

The newly turned blonde broke out into a fit of giggles, "Who? Harry? You must be joking! God bless him but these choclate frogs have more sense than him!" She exclaimed, holding the bag up for her mother to see.

Lily huffed.

"That's not very nice."

"It's true! Listen, in our first year he was convinced our potions professor was trying to kill him because our friend saw him muttering under his breath at a quidditch match! Dumber than a bag of rocks." She reprimanded, throwing a piece of choclate in her mouth.

"Okay, but plenty of eleven year olds make mistakes! My sister Petunia for-" She frowned when she noticed Jasmine flinch. Shaking her head she continued, assuming she'd imagined it, "Anyway, Tuney for instance,"

"She thought our dad was having an affair with the milk woman because she saw them talking when we were eight."

Jas snorted and the red head girl bit back a smile, "Anyway, obviously he wasn't and Tuney has learned from her mistakes." The other girl raised an eyebrow causing Lily to add: "Somwhat."

"Ah! I thought I heard you two- What happened to your hair!?" James dropped whatever he was holding in his hands and it fell to the floor with a cracking sound.

Siruis' eyes hooded slightly as he looked at her with parted lips. Jasmine felt herself blush under his scrutiny.

"I had it dyed. You like?" Before James could answer Siruis marched forward and took Jas roughly by her arm while leading her behind the nearest building. He used his arm to cage her between himself and the bricks, her breathing hitched as he leant closer,

"You're killing me here, Granger."

"W-what do you-"

He leant closer still and Jasmine could feel her heart rate sky rocket, their bodies were now pressed against each other.

"Wheres this coming from, Siruis? Y-you weren't.."

Jas' words failed her as Siruis let out a ragged breath when she said his name. Jasmine had been through a lot in her life, heck, she was the girl who lived. She helped kill Lord Voldemort. She was the youngest chaser in a century. She was used to feeling... powerful. But Siruis made her feel a different kind of power, the way his half open eyes looked at her, the way his breath tickled her skin.

"Where's this coming from? This is four weeks of me holding myself back, every time you've bit your lip, quirked your eyebrow grinned..." He took another uneven breath and slamned his fist onto the stone behind her.

Jasmines eyes widend in surprise, "Siruis-" He rose a hand to stop her from speaking. "I... am not known for my self control, Granger. This, is the most control I've had over myself since I was four, when I want something, I take it. Ask anyone! Until you came."

"And suddenly, I was holding back with my flirting. I wanted- needed, to get to know you first. I needed to know your likes and dislikes, your favourite colours- bronze and lilac -Your favourite animals- Nifflers and gerbils -Your favourite class- Care of magical creatures -Your birthday- July 31st -I found myself craving to know all these trivial things."

"Then, you go- you go and- dye your hair and wear skin tight jeans and a tank." If it was possible, Jasmine found herself turner a darker shade of red. "We- you've only known me for four weeks-"

"Exactly." He cut off gruffly, closing his eyes. "And, you deserve better than that. Which is why I'm not snogging your lips off you right now. Because in this short amount of time, you've come to mean more to me than most, you're not just another bird I want in my sheets."

"You're Jasmine Granger. And I swear I'd wait until the end of eternity just for a chance with you."

She managed to choke out a breathy laugh,

"That's a pretty big promise."

"And it's the truth."

A very flustered Jasmine Potter had somehow managed to find her way back to Hogwarts without stopping and asking the way. Siruis Black her future godfather and current best friend just admitted he liked her.

What in the name of heck was going on?

Unsure where to go or what to do, Jas decided she'd visit Hagrid, of course this version of him didn't know who she was, he didn't he would tell her and Harry she was a witch, or that he'd rescue the twins from the ruins of their parents house, where a different Siruis Black would come on a flying motor bike....

Damn, the tears are back.

Jasmine squeezed her eyes shut and stopped walking in order to wipe them away, footsteps approached her and she jumped to her wand, before she could react, however, a posh voice asked:

"Are you alright?"

"Yeah yeah, I'm fine."

"Your running mascara says otherwise."

"Narcissa, leave the blood traitor be."

"Hush, Regulus, go back to your play things."

Jas' eyes flew open while her breath got caught in her throat. Before her stood a young Narcissa Malfoy- though she must have still been a Black then- and to the side was a boy she barely recognised from photographs of Regulus Black.

"I-I'm surprised you two are talking to me, like, don't you hate, Siruis?"

Regulus quirked a brow while a flicker of distaste crossed his face, Narcissa offered a gentle smile, "Being disowned is not the same thing as being hated." The boy beside her scoffed and crossed his arms over his chest. "But we weren't talking about my cousin, we were talking about you, are you okay?"

Jasmines eyebrows rose. "Why would you help me?"

"She isn't," Regulus cut across, "She's helping her guilty consciousness because she's not standing up for the mudbitches and half breeds."

"Mudbitches..." Jas repeated faintly, running a hand through her hair, "That's a new one."

"I must admit I was hoping for a better reaction than that." Narcissa glared at the sixth year. Sixth year... Regulus was sixteen when he joined the death eaters, he was sixteen when he betrayed them, he was sixteen when he figured out how to kill the dark lord before Albus Frickin Dumbledore and he was sixteen when he died.

Jasmine gulped slightly, "Well, not all of us were raised in the most noble house of black. We've kinda had to get used to the names we've received because we were born."

The Slytherin girl before her eyes became down cast.

"I can see why my brother likes you so much. He never could resist a quick tongue." Jas laughed to herself quietly, remembering the first thing future Remus said to her. "I'm not sure, I think the hair colour helps."

And, for the first time in two years, Regulus Artacus Black let out a genuine chuckle. Narcissa beamed upon realising Jas wasn't cursing their names already, it seemed she had a much thicker skin than most.

"Jasmine!?"

She turned around to see her father by the entrance to the school, he had a panicked look on his face with a wand ready in hand. "I'm fine! I'll be there in a sec." She turned back to the two Blacks.

"It was nice to meet you, Narcissa. Thanks for the concern but I was just remembering somebody I lost. And... it was nice to finally put a name to a face, Regulus."

"Siruis has talked about me?" The words came out before he could stop them, he internally scolded himself. "Yeah, nothing but good things, believe it or not. Dead proud you beat some Evan something in your Transfiguration exam."

Regulus' eyes widend breifly,  "I've gotta go. But it really was nice to meet you."
