I couldn't complain about my living conditions. The Malfoy family always treated me as their daughter, which meant that I lived on equal terms with Draco, whom I treated as my younger brother, who I never managed to have because both my parents died shortly after I was born. Although I missed them, I can't imagine living outside of the Malfoy residence and without my family, even though I would have seen them often, given that my mother was Draco's mother sister.

Of course, it is still not easy for me to think that I will never have a chance to hug my biological parents, and the only memories I have are a few pictures on the hands of - probably - my parents, they never showed up on any. I have no idea what they looked like and nobody ever showed me their photos and even looked like they wanted to keep them away from me. For the first few years, I was pissed off at everyone because of this, but after a while, I gave up because I saw that it was not an easy subject for them.

When I was about to throw the last things I needed at Hogwarts into the trunk, Moriarty, my cat, jumped into it. He was practically all black, although he had single tufts of white hair, for example, on his tummy or under his chin, they were hardly visible. His intensely green eyes stared at me, and from his throat, a silent meow emerged.

"What's up, buddy?" I cooed to him, stroking him gently under the chin and he started purring immediately. "I'm gonna finish packing and give you food, okay?"

Moriarty meowed once again and jumped off my trunk, sitting in the chair at my desk.

"Isn't it easier to use magic to pack it all up?" I heard behind me and turned around to see Draco leaning against my door. I shrugged.

"I like traditional packing," I said and smiled slightly. "Besides, we can't use magic outside school."

"Muggles like traditional packing" he grimaced and I shook my head with laughter. "And you could ask mother or father."

"Which doesn't mean that I can't like it either" I replied, ignoring the second part of the sentence. "And you?"

"What about me?"

"Packed?"

Draco nodded and pointed his head at two large trunks standing by his legs.

"Go downstairs, I'll join you in a moment. And please feed Moriarty" I said, and Draco nodded his head gently and started going downstairs, followed by his things that Lucius carried with his wand. Moriarty followed him right away.

I smiled gently and packed the last things into the trunk and closed it. I put it on the floor, right next to the other huge suitcase, and this time I called Lucius to help me carry it too. I took Moriarty's carrier in my hand and went downstairs where everyone was already waiting for me.

"Ready?" asked Narcissa, smiling at me gently.

"As never" I answered and squatted to put my cat into the carrier.

Narcissa grabbed me and Draco by the hands as Lucius carried our trunks with help of magic and passed through a barrier in one of the frames in the Malfoy's residence, followed by us with Moriarty in the carrier. We landed in an alley, right next to the King Cross station. Lucius conjured up a trolley next to us, on which we put our suitcases and entered the station, heading straight to the platform.

When we found ourselves next to platform 9, we looked at each other with Draco and I ran straight into the column, closing my eyes firmly, still afraid that something wouldn't work and I would hit the wall and the Muggles at the station would look at me like an idiot. Right behind me, Draco ran in, and behind him, with a calm step, Narcissa and Lucius entered.

"Come here to me," Narcissa said and spread her arms, inviting me and Draco to hug.

With a smile, I wrapped my hands around Narcissa and felt Draco joining us. After a few seconds, we moved away and Narcissus put her hands on our shoulders, looking at us with a smile.

"I'm proud of you," she said and her eyes started to tear up. "Be careful, as soon as you get to Hogwarts, write me a letter so that I know that you are safe. And as soon as you run out of something, write to me right away. I count on good grades" here she looked eloquently at Draco, and I laughed gently "and no problems!"

"Mum, stop, we'll manage it," said slightly embarrassed Draco.

"Keep an eye on him" she pointed a finger at me.

"Always" I answered with a smile and I ruffled Draco's hair, who looked at me with anger, but said nothing.

"Have fun" she said for the last time and kissed the two of us on the forehead.

We said goodbye to Lucius in a much faster way, because it was just a rather uncomfortable hug and together with Draco we went towards the train.

"See you at Hogwarts?" I asked when I stood in my train car.

"We see each other" Draco smiled and left to his friends.

I smiled gently and watched my brother greet his group of friends.

Draco could have been a complete arse to others, even his friends, but to me, he was always incredibly nice and always stood up for me, whether I was a Hufflepuff or not. He treated me like a sister, just as I treated him like my own brother and we would both jump into the fire for each other. Because I was in the Hufflepuff, Draco tolerated my whole house and I was incredibly happy about that because I know how much he could get behind Gryffindor's skin, especially since Harry was there, whom Draco hated.

I was ripped out of my thoughts when I felt someone jump on my back and almost knocked me over.

"Jo! I've missed you!" I heard a familiar voice behind me and immediately an incredibly big smile came to my face.

"I missed you too, Amy!" I turned around and immediately wrapped my hands around my friend.

"I missed you too" I heard a voice say with a touch of sarcasm and my smile became even wider.

"Awe! Come here, Nico!" I called and Amy and I made room for our friend, who immediately joined our embrace.

Amy and Nicolas were both in Gryffindor. We met on the first day of our first year on the train and immediately found a common language. Although we were in separate houses, it did not bother us completely, and usually, I would sit with them at Gryffindor's table or they would sit at Hufflepuff's one. Although it might seem strange, nobody seemed to mind and we could sit together without any problems.

We also met during lessons, not all of them of course, but on many and we spent many breaks together. Now, we were inseparable and nothing could separate us, even the biggest fights we ever had.

"Aren't these our favorite trio!" We heard two voices and Amy and Nico laughed happily and turned to the Weasley twins who stood by us with a smile and immediately started hugging us.

"How I've missed you!" Fred shouted, lifting me out of the ground and crushing me in his embrace.

"I missed you too, but please, let me go if you want me to stay alive!" I laughed, hitting him lightly on the shoulder.

The boy with a smile let me out of his hands and ruffled my hair, for which he got a little punch in his belly.

"My favorite Joselyn Malfoy!" said George and once again I was crushed in a hug. "And Perfect!"

"Exactly! Our little Hufflepuff is Perfect!" Fred smiled and threw his arm over my shoulders.

"It's just Perfect, don't make such a big deal out of it" I rolled my eyes up with laughter.

"Only?! Do you hear yourself, Jo?!" Nicolas spoke in disbelief. "Ingratitude!"

"Nico!" I yelled, laughing even more. "Okay, maybe this is something bigger, but I don't understand why you make such a big crib out of it."

"You are Perfect!" said, George.

"And that's with the Pretty-Boy-Diggory!" Fred hit me slightly to the side with his elbow.

"Really? You must have mentioned that?" I waved.

"Are you still mad at him?" Nicolas asked.

"Has she ever stopped?" laughed Amy.

"First of all, I am still angry with him and no, I never stopped. Secondly, you wouldn't stop either, if it made your life miserable from the first year!" I groaned upset.

"Oh stop it, he just wants your attention!" said, Amy.

"I know better ways to do that, for example, not putting chewed gum in my hair on the second year" I muttered and all four of them started laughing and I couldn't stop the smile that crept onto my lips. "Okay, I have to go. We have a Perfect meeting in the car and I have to be early and I haven't changed yet" I pointed out my normal clothes when all the rest of my friends were already wearing Hogwarts Gryffindor robes.

"Have fun with Diggory! See you at Hogwarts, Miss Perfect!" The twins called out, and I just shook my head with laughter when I walked in with my trunks and Moriarty to the compartment where we were all supposed to meet.

I quickly dressed up in my robes in the bathroom and headed to the assembly point where most of them had already been and smiled at Percy Weasley, the twins' older brother and Head Boy, whom he stayed this year as it was his last year at Hogwarts.

Percy and Head Girl explained to us what our duties, rights, and parts of Hogwarts are. Unfortunately, I was assigned with Diggory to the seventh floor and to keep an eye on the first-year Hufflepuffs so that they don't get lost at Hogwarts.

It's not that I didn't like him, I tolerated him, but I didn't like him very much. From the first year at Hogwarts, as soon as we were both chosen to Hufflepuff, Cedric made my life miserable in every way possible. Starting with the chewing gums in my hair to swapping the ingredients on the potions so that they would explode right in my face because he knew the potions were my favorite lesson and I was good at them and Snape, as it turns out, tolerated me more than anyone else. I wasn't complaining, I never wanted to get behind Snape's skin because even though he was one of my favorite teachers, he still scared me.

Coming back to Cedric, for the first two years I let him go, so he didn't stop with his "pranks", but when at the beginning of the third year I switched his cupcake to a cupcake with the Hair Colour Change Potion and he was walking around with pink hair all week along and I say, even if it was quite funny, considering that Cedric was completely obsessed with his hair, even this color suited him, because - I can't help but say how much I wouldn't like him, I had to admit that he was incredibly handsome. No wonder that practically every girl wanted to be with him.

"So..." Cedric started with his typical smile on his face.

"No" I smiled sarcastically and started reading the list of first years.

"I didn't even say anything" He raised his eyebrows, but the smile was on his face all the time.

"You didn't have to" I replied, continuing reading the list.

"Are you still angry with me?"

"What is it with all of you today and the question if I am still angry with you?" I groaned, giving the card to the boy. "And yes, I am still angry with you."

"Looking at the fact that you were the one who switched my cupcake in the third year, I should be angry with you," he said.

"Looking at you making my life at Hogwarts miserable right from the start, I have every right to be angry with you."

"I haven't done anything bad for you for almost a year!"

"Congratulations! Maybe you've finally matured!"

Cedric rolled his eyes at me, but the corners of his mouth went up, just like mine.

Cedric may have been the biggest asshole in the world to me, but I still found him attractive and incredibly intelligent because I couldn't say he wasn't. I also have to admit that I once crushed on him, because how can you not crush on a boy who looks like him? Now? I think I'm over it. Although I still sometimes feel butterflies in my belly when I talk to him.

Maybe I'm also blaming my continuing fascination with him for being incredibly attractive and that's just how attractive guys work on me, but no one will prove it to me.

"Do you think that being a Perfect is that cool?" asked Diggory, and I lifted my eyebrows a little.

"Being a Perfect? Maybe. Being a Perfect with you? Definitely not" I answered, and Cedric rolled his eyes.

"Okay!" He threw his hands up. "I'm sorry!"

"Hallelujah!" I smiled. "Apology accepted."

Cedric wrinkled his eyebrows.

"That fast?"

"That fast what?" I asked, walking down the corridor and looking for a free compartment.

"You forgive me so quickly?" He was surprised.

"It's not like you killed my cat" I rolled my eyes and heard Moriarty hissing, who was still sitting in the carrier I was carrying. "I just wanted you to apologize to me."

"Maybe if I had done it earlier, my hair wouldn't have been pink for a week" He muttered, and I laughed, opening the free compartment and gently putting my two trunks, which I was carrying all the time, onto the cabinets above the seats, with magic, Cedric followed in my footsteps.

I fell hard on the seat, rubbing my hands together, which hurt from holding my suitcases all the time. I opened the door from the carrier and Moriarty immediately ran out of it, smelling every corner and Cedric, finally sitting on his lap.

"He likes you" I smiled gently.

"I like him too" Cedric answered with a smile, stroking him behind his ear. "You see? Even your cat can't resist me."

"And we're back in the beginning."
