Nothing is as it seems

A young girl pushed her steed further and further. "C'mon, we can't stop now," she whispered to him; the mount grumbled and beat its wings faster. Even tho they were in the air, they had to get away from the urges. 'Y/n?' Her dragon's voice sounded in the young girl's mind. 'Yes, Emerald?' She answers. The dragon whom she rode had slowed the pace of his wings. 'I see a dragon in the air. Shall we fly over to it?' Emerald said.

Y/n sighed. She hadn't met another dragon rider in years. 'Yes,' and then the two made their way over the mysterious dragon.

-your POV-

We had reached the other dragon a while ago. It was a female, belonging to a young boy aorund my age. He called himself Eregon. His dragon's name was Saphira. Right now me, and Eregon I were conversing about where they were going. I also met Brom, Eregon's teacher. He seemed like an okay guy. But he questioned me about my dragon, where I was from, and things like that. I said that I was from a city far, far away called Dragorath. Or it was more of land than a city.

I told them that we had lo kinds of creatures there and we all lived in harmony. Very few of us got dragons when we were old enough. I was one of those lucky ones. Brom and Eregon were left in wonder after my story.

"Y/n?" Eregon's voice broke me out of my thoughts, and I turned to him. "Yes?" I said. He smiled and went over to Saphira, gesturing that I should follow him. I did. I felt emerald's eyes on me all the time. I knew he was protective of me, very much. Our bond was strong, even more than I thought we would. "Wanna ride Saphira with me?" Eregon said as he petted the blue dragon. I smiled and nodded. Eregon smiled, and I felt Saphira smile too.

Eregon mounted her and then helped me up. 'How are you feeling, y/n?' Came Saphira's voice in my mind. I stroke her scales where I sat be bound Eregon. She understood my answer. I then looked at emerald to see him already looking at us. 'Be careful, little one,' he said in my mind. I smiled at him, and within seconds we were in the air.
