All of Oceana held it's breath the day that the letters were sent out. From all 5 seas, 20 lucky young women would be receiving a letter with a Royal seal, written specifically for them by the Queen. The letters read:

Dear _______,
     It is my privilege and honor to write to you today. You are one of 20 lucky young women who will be sent to the Palace of Atlantis to compete for my eldest son's heart. A castle guard will be arriving shortly to escort you to the Palace safely. In the mean time, please prepare yourself mentally to leave your families. And hope that you don't see them for a little while. I simply can not wait to welcome one of you as my daughter-in-law. Safe travels.

A day after you received the letter, two guards showed up at your door and escorted you to the fastest way of travel, whether that was by swimming, dolphin, or whale transportation. You arrived at the grand Palace, and were quickly shown to your individual room, which looked the same as all the other Selected rooms.

That evening, you were asked to report to a certain room at a specific time. After asking a few members of the Castle Staff for directions, you were able to find your way there. The room war rather simple, with a few chairs scattered here and there. However, two chairs were dragged towards the center of the room, and in one of them sat a young woman with a dazzling smile and a snowy white tail. Once she noticed you enter, she quickly stood and swam up to you, shaking your hand quickly. "Hello Lady ______, my name is Clara and I'm a reporter for the Palace. If you don't mind, I'm going to ask you a few questions just about yourself, and the selection. Try to answer them to the best of your ability." She then swam back over to her chair and sat, gesturing towards the chair that was directly across from her. You sat down, hands placed neatly on top of your tail, as your heart raced and you awaited the first question.
