SUMMARY

James Potter was not looking forward to the rest of his NEWT years at Hogwarts. Or at least he would be feeling pretty uncomfortable until Christmas at least. He and Lily Evans had broken up after eight months of dating, and quite frankly, James was a little heartbroken. 

He wasn't so subtle about it. So, Sirius Black, being the best friend that he was, wanted James to feel like himself again. And what better way to make James feel better than to sneak out of the castle and into Hogsmeade as soon as possible.

And as soon as possible became two days before Halloween 1976, the Friday evening after a depressing day of History of Magic, Herbology and both Potions and Transfiguration theory. And on that Friday afternoon, a group of four best friends would sneak out of the castle with only one aim in mind - to get to their favourite table in the Three Broomsticks.

What would make their night even better is that there seemed to be a brand new server, someone a little more exciting in the crowd of older folk.
