chapter 9, season 1

you woke up to the sound of your alarm going off. you groaned as you sleepily looked for your phone in order to turn the alarm off.

as you turned your alarm off, you seen a few messages from eren.

you set your phone down with a smile before you made your way over to your bathroom. "hey alexa, shuffle my playlist." you say to the device as you turned on the shower.

as you stepped into the shower, "bad habits" by steve lacy came on. you immediately started singing the catchy song and you began washing up.

"i bite my tongue, it's a bad habit. kinda mad that i didn't take a stab at it. thought you were too good for me, my dear. never gave me time of day, my dear. it's okay, things happen for reasons that i think are sure, yeah." you sung as you began washing your body with your favorite soap.

as you were about to start singing again, you heard someone calling your name. "hey, alexa, pause this song." as the song came to a stop, you could hear a familiar voice calling you. after some time, you couldn't hear your name being called anymore. "maybe i'm just hearing shit." you mumbled to yourself before you told alexa to unpause your music.

"they say i'm too young to love you. i don't know what i need. they think i don't understand." you sung as you came out the sweaty bathroom. "i really need to take cooler- what the hell!?" you looked over to see armani sitting in your room with a book in her hand.

"huh- oh. sorry for just coming to your house unannounced, but connie told me to come over and help him with something, but he's asleep." armani explained as she flipped through the pages of "no longer human" by osamu dazai.

"oh yeah, he said he needed help with algebra two. armin said he's not helping him anymore since he stole his binder." you reply as you began to lotion up your body.

"where you going?" armani curiously asked as she placed the book back onto your shelf. "a date with eren."

"ouuuuuu, where y'all going?" armani curiously asked as she sat down on your freshly made bed. "i don't know, it's a surprise."

"do you know what you're wearing?" she questioned as she looked around your room. "nah, but most likely some sweats and a sweatshirt."

"absolutely not." armani said as she made her way to your walk-in closet. "huh? why not? i always wear sweats."

"exactly. you should wear something eren's never seen you in. you obviously don't gotta wear a dress or anything like that, but wear something that'll catch his eye." she says as she shuffled through your clothes.

"that's true... make sure it's something that's comfortable though." you tell her as you put on your under clothes. "i wish i knew what we were doing." you mumble to yourself as you grab your robe and walk into your closet.

"okay, so i was thinking, these cute jeans, a plain white t-shirt, this jacket, and your docs." armani says as she shows you the entire outfit layed out. "and this purse."

"this is cute. i forgot all about these jeans." you say as you hold up the jeans. "see, you need to expand your wardrobe. well, expand into something other than sweats."

"yeah, yeah." you waved her off as you take your clothes and go back into the bathroom to change.

"i've never seen mikasa so happy." armani says as she looks at mikasa's instagram story. "i feel like a proud mom." she fake sobs.

"i know right." you sniffled. "i love mikasa and mari together." you say as you began to finish up your makeup. "it's so cute seeing young people in love."

"its something so carefree about young love." armani says with a happy sigh. "makes me remember when me and connie met back in middle school."

"yeah, and you two had me third wheeling non-stop because mila was already in highschool." you scoffed remembering the times where you've witness everything about them being a young gross couple.

"well, at least you can do allat stuff with eren now." armani says, but before you could answer, connie came into your room.

"eren's outside." he groggily said as he yawned. "okay, tell him i'm coming out right now." you say as you began to quickly gather your things and put them into your purse. that hour went by quicker than you thought because you didn't even have time to do your hair.

"fuck, what the hell am i- you know what, imma just put my hair in a claw clip." you mumbled to yourself and you began speed walking to your vanity to grab the black hair clip before quickly saying goodbye to connie and armani.

"damn, why was she rushin' like that?" connie asks as he saw you running down the steps.

as you ran down the stairs, you saw both your parents downstairs eating breakfast. "bye momma, bye daddy." you say as you give your parents quick kisses on their cheeks before going to the front door to put your shoes on.

"where are you going so early in the morning?" your father asks you as he watched you rush to put your shoes on. "i'm going on a date." you tell him truthfully.

"a date? with who? is he outside?" your father says getting up, but before he could come to the front door, your mother put her hand on his chest. "relax, richard. she's old enough to go on a date, plus the boy is super nice." your mother tries to reassure.

your father rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. "i want you back here by five-thirty."

"five-thirty? daddy be forreal." you deadpan. "that's way too early, i'll be back eventually."

"eventually? y/n-"

"bye! love you!" you say before shutting to door before your father could finish his sentence. you shook your head at your fathers behavior as you locked the door from the outside.

once you finished locking the door, you turned around and were greeted by eren holding some pink roses.

"these are for you, gorgeous." he smiled nervously as he handed you the flowers. "thank you, eren." you smiled as you grabbed the flowers. "i would love to go and put them in a vase, but i know if i go back in the house, my dad won't let me out again unless he meets you." you slightly laugh.

"that's fine, we can just leave them in the car until i drop you back off at home." he says as he takes the flowers out your hand and puts them in the backseat of his car. after he's done that, he opens up the passenger side door and waits for you to get in.

"such a gentleman." you say while thanking eren for opening your door for you. "only for you." he winks as he closes the door for you.
