They're on a date.
The sessions have finally stopped, and Aera, well, she was better than ever. Turns out, that trust, faith and love, work better than any medicine, or any therapy out there.
The 'secret sessions' between them, weren't just some therapy, they were the initial steps to what they'd reached now. Those sessions were like a thread, which sew both of their souls together into a textile so unbreakable, that any scissor won't be able to cut through.
After moving in with Jin, she felt as if her past was just a bad dream she had had. She felt as if her life, now, was a rainbow, which managed to appear after the heavy rains, and Jin was the sunshine which managed to keep her soul warm and bright throughout.
There lives had turned busy, as Jin had gone back to being regular to his job as a psychologist, and Aera, had gotten herself a job at a nursery, to keep herself occupied in Jin's absence.
Their hectic schedules drove them to spend less time with each other. So, Jin decided to take the matter in his own hands.
He planned a dinner date and scheduled it the weekend. The only thing which differentiated this dinner date was the location. It was unique, as it was home.
Yup, the venue was their home.
Which brings us back to their house.
A lovely, spicy aroma travelled through the entirety of the house as Jin stood in his favourite apron, tossing ingredients into a pot situated high on the stove.
He stirred the contents of the pot, a rich deep red colored liquid, which thickened perfectly by the minute.
Resting a hand on his waist, he lifted the spatula towards the girl, who stood by his side, watching his actions intently.
The girl lifted a finger, knowing exactly what Jin wanted. Just when her finger was about to touch the spatula covered in thick, red goodness, her hand was slapped away by the man.
He brought the spatula to his own lips, and blew on it, wanting it to cool down a little. Aera smiled, never being able to get over his caring self.
He brought the spatula back to her, and using a finger, she licked the thick liquid, eyes shutting at the burst of flavours on her taste buds.
On the other hand, Jin raised his free hand from his waist, and too, licked the soup into his mouth, his brows furrowing immediately.
He put the spatula back into the pot and simmered down the flame a bit.
"Hmm, a little bit of salt."
And immediately, the container waa handed over to him, making him smile.
He leaned over to the focused girl, pressing a kiss to her cheek.
"Thanks baby-boo."
The weird nickname made her giggle, although, this was nothing new. He invented new nicknames every time he addresses her. This was one of his ways of showering her with affection.
Just then the oven 'tinged', indicating that the chicken was done. He rushed over to the oven, simultaneously putting on a cute alpaca kitchen-glove on his right hand. As soon as he opened the oven, he was hit by delicious, hot air, watering his mouth, as well as her's. He took out the chicken and shut the oven back, and carried the food to the wooden dining table.
"My honey-pop, can you turn off the flame please?"
Aera answered with a hum and did as told.
Jin sauntered back into the kitchen and transferred the steaming contents of the pot, into a serving bowl, and carried this back to the dining table. With the plates already set, they washed their hands and settled down to finally have what had been cooked with love.
After a few minutes, they had finished with their dinner over giggles and sweet talks.
Jin brought the cake out of the refrigerator and settled it on top of the table. He had prepared a heart shaped fruit cake with raspberry ganache and strawberry flavoured whipped cream, and had decorated it with berries and chocolate shavings. It was beautiful.
Aera's eyes shone at the sight of the confectionery. She had forgotten how it was to be taken care of, after she'd lost her family, and before meeting Jin. But now, he left no chance to show her how much he cared for her.
Jin placed himself just behind her, with his arms delicately draped on her waist, and whispered into her ear.
"My pretty tulip..." He placed a knife in her hand carefully, "this has to be cut by you."
He kissed her neck, lingering there for a few seconds before finally pulling away, and encouraged her to go ahead.
Two slices were cut out of the cake and placed on a plate, which now sat on top of the surface of the couch.
Jin sat first, and spread his legs to make space for Aera to sit between them. He then took back the plate in his hands after settling down, and started digging in.
Jin watched as Aera took bite after bite, enjoying the dessert. He could go on just watching her, and never get bored.
As she chewed on silently, she froze when she felt something cool and hard in her mouth. Eyebrows furrowing, she pulled the thing out of her mouth and gasped, swiftly turning around to face her boyfriend, who smiled at her stupor.
"W-what..."
He pulled out another identical band from his pocket and handed it to her, taking the one she held in his hand.
"Those are promise rings Aera..." He placed the ring around her finger.
"I want to stay with you until my last breath. I want to love you until this world ceases to exist. And I promise to take care of you, protect you and love you, for the rest of my life."
He smiled at her still-frozen form, and lifted his hands to cup her face.
"I promise to give you my everything Aera."
A tear escaped her glossy eyes and travelled down her cheek.
"Would you let me love you?"
And that was it. She couldn't keep it inside anymore and let the tears flow freely. She nodded her head violently, which made Jin grin ear to ear, his own eyes turning glossy.
She slipped the ring into his finger, and smiled through the tears at the sight of it on his hand with her initials carved onto it.
"I love you Aera, so much." He sobbed out, he cupped her face, his own so close to her's. He killed the teasing distance between them and kissed her deeply, gasping at the violent thumps that erupted inside his chest. The contact always made him feel a fountain of emotions, which rushed through his being. He tasted the sweetness of the dessert on her lips, making it harder for him to resist her, to pull away. The kiss grew deeper, and more fervent. Breathy gasps, and sounds of their kiss filled the atmosphere. The calm, which was found in the air a few seconds ago, turned into a mix of passion, lust and love.
"I love you, forever..." She whispered through the never dying kiss, the cake long forgotten at the edge of the couch.
——
"My love for you is a journey, beginning at forever,
and ending at never..."
