𝐢𝐢𝐢. ❛ cinnamon rolls not gender rolls ❜

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

YOU WANT TO TRY out these new vision light thingies, I need a new Instagram pic. I think we can help eachother out." Midge offers, taking a sip from her milkshake.

Looking at the girl, you smile amused, "In other words, you want good pictures and you have come to me because I'm free." taking another fry.

"You are the Godmother to my children. How can you accuse me?" she gasps.

Furrowing your brows, you look at the girl, "You're not a mother." you deny.

"Yet"

Sipping the strawberry sprinkle milkshake, you roll your eyes, "You're crazy but if you want new pictures all you have to do is-"

"Bake you cinnamon rolls?" she fills in, "Exactly." you wink.

So, the two of you went out with the promise she would make and teach you how to this weekend.

Having the girl lay on the grass, you stand over her, "Tilt your chin up." you mumble.

"Perfect."

Continuing to snap pictures of the girl, the two of you change locations, and poses, "You will find someone." Midge says, breaking the silence.

"I know."

Rubbing your thumb over the cold metal that is your camera, "How come you and Reggie didn't work out?"

"We had nothing in common." you shrug, which didn't feel quite right. It wasn't the only reason why, you knew it, he probably did too. But you couldn't.

Not now. Two words. Two fucking words and nothing will ever be the same anymore.

"We have nothing in common either."

Looking up, the girl looks back at you with hee big green eyes, "Yeah, but we have experienced things together. I barely know Reggie." you offer.

Humming she nods, "One moment I feel on top of the world, the next rock bottom."

Laying down on the grass, you hum at the words, "Simon vs. The Homosapiens agenda." you say.

"Your favourite, right?"

Tilting your head to her. You nod as she takes your hand in hers, "Why is straight the default? Everyone should have to declare one way or another, it shouldn't be this big awkward thing. Whether you're straight, gay, bi, or whatever." you ranted.

"Right. White shouldn't be the default. There shouldn't even be a default." Midge says.

Looking up to the purpling sky, you hum, "It feels like everyone knows who they are. What they're supposed to do. They're acting like adults. Which makes me feel horrible, I'm trying to figure it all out." you vent.

"We all are," she said, shifting your gaze to her. A sad smile tucks up her lip, "some are just better at pretending."
