Remembering she had cream in her hair and on her face, Miyeon unfroze and felt her cheeks turn pink, clutching the product that Jugyeong had dropped in one hand and the napkin in the other.
"Hey!" She shouted, continuing after Suho and Jugyeong. The crowd gathered behind her as she stood at the end of the corridor, watching the pair go.
"Is the show over?" A shout could be heard, and knowing it was a teacher Miyeon rushed forward, past Seojun who had stopped in the middle of the corridor, past all his friends and following Suho and Jugyeong.
She turned down a corner and saw Suho letting Jugyeong into the bathroom, taking deep breaths and trying to get her breath back, Miyeon slowed to a walk as she continued towards the bathroom, Suho leaning against the wall outside.
He didn't look as Miyeon approached, but when she was about to push the door into the bathroom her stood up straight, putting his hand out.
"You can't go in there." He said, looking down at her and freezing for a moment.
"But I need to?" Miyeon frowned. "I have to give her this and wipe the cream off of me."
"You can wait." Suho said shortly, and Miyeon sighed, standing across from him and staring at the floor.
The only sound that could be heard for a while was that of the water running from within the bathroom, and Miyeon's shoes scuffing against the floor as she kicked her leg back and forth, waiting to get into the bathroom.
"I know we're not supposed to talk and everything but it feels sticky and it's awful." Miyeon said. "Come on, please?"
"You can't." Suho repeated, and Miyeon sighed, looking down at the floor. "I didn't know you were coming back."
"Don't start on all that. I already got the talking to yesterday." Miyeon told him, and Suho looked up, just for a moment, remembering seeing her at the bus stop. "So I'm just going to tell you what I told him."
"I didn't know I was coming back until a week or two ago. It wasn't my choice, my parents forced me to come back. And second, it wasn't my fault." Miyeon sighed, feeling a bubble of emotions in her stomach.
"Did you want to stay in New York?" Suho asked, completely ignoring the second reply. Miyeon nodded, and they fell back into silence.
But then, footsteps could be heard and they both looked up to see Seojun walking down the corridor, only faltering slightly when he saw them together.
Like Suho had intended to, Seojun had completely ignored Miyeon, walking past her and stopping in front of Seojun. "Hey, Lee Suho." He said.
"You've been stepping out of line recently." Seojun said, smirking slightly.
"Did you return to school just to see me?" Suho asked in reply.
"What?"
"I mean, are you keeping tabs on me or something?" Suho continued. Seojun glanced over to Miyeon for just a second.
"What kind of bullshit-" He began, digging his hands into his pockets.
"Whether I step out of line or not, it's none of your business. And stop being so obvious about trailing me because you're self conscious." The two boys stared at each other for a minute, before Suho brushed past the other, walking away.
"Can I finally go in the bathroom now?" Miyeon thought aloud, sighing to herself as she stood up straight from leaning on the wall. Seojun turned around, staring at her.
"I don't expect you to keep tabs on me either." Miyeon said, catching his eye for just a moment before stepping up to the door. "Jugyeong - its me, can I come in?"
"Yes!" A slightly nervous sounding Jugyeong replied and Miyeon pushed the door open, leaving Seojun in the hallway alone.
"I'm really sorry, I would've gone to another bathroom to clean myself up but your dropped this on your way out." Miyeon said, holding the product out to Jugyeong, who seemed to be just touching up her makeup.
"Oh, thank you so much." Jugyeong took the product off of Miyeon, and curious, the Hwang girl leaned over slightly.
"We've got similar skin tones, do you have any BB cream I can borrow?" Miyeon asked, turning on the tap and holding her hair back as she washed the cream off her cheek, then leaning down so that she could get the cream out of her hair.
Wiping the small amount of excess water off with her hands, Miyeon stood up, looking over at Jugyeong, who stared at her for a moment, before nodding. "Here." She said, passing Miyeon a small tube.
Miyeon applied the tiniest bit, frowning when she looked in the mirror for just a moment. "Your lip tint is still great, I left mine in the classroom so I'll be fine for now but promise me one day we can go shopping together? This is really good stuff. I knew you had the best taste in things."
Miyeon smiled, passing Jugyeong back the tube. "Everything alright now? I understand how it can feel to be crowded by everyone." Miyeon asked, and Jugyeong let out a sigh of relief, smiling weakly as she nodded. "Good, let's go then. We'll walk slowly so we don't rush back."
And with that, Miyeon linked arms with the taller girl, who had her makeup bag stuffed under the other arm, and they made their way slowly back to the classroom.
It was only the Hwang girl's second day, but it seemed she was making friends quickly. She liked Jugyeong quite a lot, and it was just a plus that she had good taste and got on the same bus.
It seemed that the two girls would end up meeting up. Because both wanted to be friends with the other, rare after such a chaotic first two days of meeting.
