A couple of days had passed since the photoshoot, and each one was busier than the previous.
Wednesday was filled with preparing to recording 'Get It'. They were lucky to not have an extremely early start, but the four female trainees were still sneaking out of the dorm so not to wake the boys next door. But when they did arrive at the Entertainment building, they were thrown right into the process.
Miyeon was happy to see Mr Seo greet them in their assigned studio for the day. He had brought them all some small breakfasts, and the security guard - Mr Baek - had brought snacks and drinks that his wife had prepared. Mr Seo was assigned as their vocal mentor for the day.
He took them through warm-ups, and then the Hwang girl was surprised to find that Jaeho was the producer chosen to help them record the song that day, and would be sitting in on the entire session to give his imput - Aeja and Eunsang popped their heads in every so often, smiles always on their faces.
They had soon gone through the song line by line, Jaeho pressing play and pause on the demo that Miyeon had recorded and listening as the four girls (and Mr Seo) decided whose voice sounded best. This took a length of time, but eventually after a few practise run-throughs, they were beginning to record their parts.
It wasn't that simple, obviously, and the recording of ad-libs both together as a group and solo followed. By the time the end of the day had come, Jaeho had retreated to his usual environment to put it all together.
By the following morning, they had all been emailed the finished product and Kaien came running into each of their rooms to wake them up and drag them into the living room for a group listen. It didn't take much to wake up the boys, and when it came to the second listen, all four members of INDIGO had joined them.
It was fair to say that it was one of Miyeon's proudest moments; having seven of her best friends, three of which were debuting with her, hearing this song together. But there wasn't enough time for them to truly enjoy it; the girls had their choreography lessons in less than an hour.
They got dressed, Miyeon had to leave Seojun just when he seemed as if he was about to tell her something important, and took the transport to the entertainment building.
And just like they had spent the previous day in the recording studio, that Thursday was spent in the dance studio with Miss Jo, who had had her hands on the demo since Miyeon first sent it out and had pretty much choreographed the entirety of the song, just asking Maiya and Kai for their input.
The day had crept by, filled with learning choreography until they almost passed out from exhaustion, mirrors steaming and water bottles drained. Of course, they got their breaks, but Miss Jo made sure to work them hard.
They had gotten the entirety of choreography learnt by the time Miss Jo called it to a close, and the four of them headed to the locker rooms to shower and change. But whilst Kai, Maiya and Chanmi went home, Miyeon made her way up to the producers' studio.
She needed to have her b-side finished and ready for submission soon, as they needed to get to work on the one that the group were going to promote - that one was of the utmost importance.
The only problem is, even with a clear vision of what the song should sound like and the lyrics all planned out - even annotated in areas and all necessary changes made - Miyeon was having trouble putting it all together.
"Ugh." She groaned, eyes not straying from the computer until her head slumped in her arms, which were strewn across the keyboard on the desk in front of her.
No other sound came from the rest of the room. In fact, other than her own breathing and the whirring of computes, all Miyeon could hear was the far-away noise of the city below. She was completely alone in the dimly lit producers studio.
Aeja, Jaeho and Eunsang had left half an hour before, the first making Miyeon promise that she won't stay back too long and get a good night of sleep before Friday came.
But Miyeon wasn't planning on going home any time soon. She needed to get this song finished, and pushing herself back up, reaching for the mouse that now sat on the purple bear-shaped pad. Jaeho had seen it the day after Miyeon had been introduced and order it. She only knew it was him because of Eunsang - the Hwang girl had arrived after her talk with Seojun following the debut announcment photoshoot and it was right there on her desk.
A few clicks later and the song was playing once again, a melody filling the room with little parts layered over. It was pretty, but Miyeon didn't know if it was right. She didn't have that innate feeling that came along with the finishing of 'Get It'.
However, she hadn't even recorded the vocals to go along with it, and Jaeho had also gruffly shown her how to sort everything out for her to do it herself. Next thing she knew, she was hidden behind the glass in a much brighter room, eyes flickering across the lines of lyrics.
The song came to an end and Miyeon moved to go to the small remote panel that Jaeho had shown her within the room, but the echoing click stopped her. Her head snapped upwards towards the other side of the glass, an easy smile appearing on her face.
"Daehwan and Kenji?" Miyeon pushed the door open, her other hand flicking off the lights. "It's late - what are you guys doing here?"
"We did a duet practise. Drum and electric guitar." Kenji grinned, looking around the producers' room. "This is an incredible space - there's so much equipment up here."
The girl watched as the Japanese boy slumped down in the black chair besides Luna's desks. "You're lucky that's only Luna's - if it was Jaeho's then you might be in for some trouble." She commented.
"Oh really?" Daehwan cocked an eyebrow, the almost strange confidence in her personality jumping out between two of the people he was most comfortable with. In a couple of strides he was in the chair besides Jaeho's desk. "I'm guessing I picked the right one?"
"You did, actually." Miyeon shook her head as she laughed, reaching her own chair and slumping down in it. "Want to hear the first rough draft of this song? None of the other producers have heard it because something didn't feel right, but I'm hoping that having recorded the very basic vocals will bring some clarity."
"Of course." Kenji replied instantly, sitting up in the chair and pushing it over to beside Miyeon's, Kenji doing the same.
Miyeon pressed play, the song she had been slaving over playing through the speakers. But even with the vocals, something seemed missing. "Ugh." She groaned once again, but instead of throwing herself over the keyboard she slumped back in the seat.
Situated slightly behind her, Daehwan and Kenji shared a look before simultaneously pulling her seat a little backwards and their own forwards. "We'll help." Daehwan said quietly.
And so they got to work.
