After the disappointment of Soojin's stand not being there, Miyeon didn't let herself think too much about it. She had no idea why she even considered the fact that the stand would still be there after so many days - it was obviously only temporarily and moved around with ease.
The Hwang girl was trudging up the stairs, cursing out the fact that the elevator was being repaired when the exhaustion well and truly hit, and by the time she reached their floor, her movements had turned sluggish.
But no matter just how tired she was, she wasn't going to forget the idea of spending some time with Daehwan that night - he hadn't seemed too perky when she passed him in the corridor earlier on.
And so, she passed the door into the girls' dorm, instead knocking twice on the second door and pushing down the handle. It was remarkably quiet, considering that four boys lived there, the only sound being something playing on the TV.
Nobody said anything to greet her, not that she really needed one as she kicked her shoes off, socks slightly slippy on the cold floor. "Hi." She mumbled as she padded forward, offering a smile when Daehwan and Kenji looked up from the screen.
Some anime was playing and Kenji's attention was quickly back into it, speaking in soft Japanese as he repeated the lines as they were played - he had clearly watched it many times before.
But Daehwan, who, despite his interest in the show and ability to understand the language, kept his eyes up on Miyeon, recognising the expression on her features.
"Seojun isn't here." The Kim boy announced, voice low so not to disturb the oldest - who didn't really seem like it at that point, considering he was sat in front of the TV and staring up at it like he was a little kid. "He's gone grocery shopping with Hyunwoo, but should be back soon."
"I can.." Miyeon was about to suggest that she waited in the girls' dorm, but quite frankly didn't have the energy for it.
And it must have been obvious, because Daehwan adjusted his position and patted the couch cushion beside him. Grateful, Miyeon swerved around Kenji and the coffee table, collapsing down beside Dae and letting her head rest on his shoulder.
In response, Daehwan froze. It wasn't because of the action, but really more because he wasn't the biggest fan of coming into random contact with people. He preferred to initiate it, but in this case, he had to push his usual policies out of the window.
Hesitantly, he let his arm rest around Miyeon's shoulders, hand hovering over her shoulder. "What happened?" He asked, voice still quiet so not to annoy or disturb Kenji's monthly watching of his favourite movie.
"Remember the person I saw the other day.. after we went to the restaurant and then Seojun led us back to the group?" Miyeon replied with a question, her voice at the same volume and mumble as Daehwan's voice.
She didn't look up, feeling his head move up and down in two, quick movements. "Well I went back.. and she wasn't there." Miyeon explained, hating how pathetic it really sounded.
"So you got your hopes up?" Daehwan heard her mumble the positive reply and finally let his hand fall onto her shoulder, squeezing it gently.
"But the thing is.. I don't know what I was expecting so I feel stupid. And tired, I feel really tired." The Hwang girl covered her mouth as she yawned.
"You can go to sleep." It might be a little early in the night really, but the new timetable was taking it's toll on them and Dae didn't have a clue how any of the girls could have any energy left considering what they did every day - if the four boys were tired, he had no idea how they could go through intensive physical practises and still do anything.
"Here." As if to reaffirm his point, Daehwan stretched his free arm out and pulled one of the black decorative pillows down to them, lifting up Miyeon's head up and placing it under. "Go to sleep, I can wake you up when Seojun gets back."
"If you promise." And Daehwan did promise, and a short while later he had a very much asleep Hwang Miyeon leant against him, head dangerously close to slipping off of the couch pillow. His arm was going dead, as was the area under the cushion, but he couldn't complain or move. Miyeon had done a lot for him, and who would he be to ruin this one nap?
But finally, his saviour came in the form of Han Seojun and Song Hyunwoo, both carrying bags of food and looking rrather concerned when they saw the Hwang girl fast asleep.
"She's had a.. hard day." Daehwan explained, waiting for their reactions. "Tired.. disappointed at something. I think it's all just hitting now."
"Shhh." Kenji didn't even look away from the TV, gaze still just as childlike as it had been before. The Watanabe boy had absolutely no idea what was going on behind him.
"Yeah.. what he said." Seojun put down the bags and let his coat slide off of his shoulders, hanging it up by the leather jacket that had once belonged to him but now was primarily worn by the very girl on the sofa. "Have you talked to any of the girls?"
"No – my phone was too far away and you know what he's like." Both Daehwan and Seojun were talking in incredibly low tones and the volume seemed to be even lower. They didn't want to risk waking Miyeon up as she slept peacefully.
"If you want to move her, her room is on the second floor of the dorm, so it wouldn't be a good idea." Hyunwoo interjected with some small words of wisdom, carrying the bags of food over to the kitchen and beginning to unpack them.
"My bedroom's the closest." Seojun came to a stop in front of Daehwan. "You don't mind, do you?"
Considering what the guitarist knew of the Hwang girl and Han boy's relationship, he was rather surprised that Seojun didn't look more jealous at this point. But he had a strong suspicion that he was particularly good at hiding his feelings and emotions. And, of course, that was perfectly correct.
"No, of course not." Dae quickly replied. Even if Seojun looked completely calm, he didn't want to risk making him jealous and then losing a friend. He couldn't lose a friend, he didn't have enough in the first place. "It would actually be a blessing.. I haven't been able to feel my arm in a while."
"Yeah – and you need that arm." Seojun's words were true but sounded so incredibly sarcastic that Hyunwoo stifled a laugh, watching as his bandmate looped his arm under Miyeon's knees and picked her up.
Suddenly he was thinking back to a certain night in the time where he claimed to hate her, but couldn't help but show his true feelings after she had been kidnapped because of him.
"Hey.. hey there." Seojun smiled down at the girl who had stirred in his arms. "You just go back to sleep, okay? Don't worry about it."
And other than the sound of Kenji's movie, the apartment was silent as Seojun carried the exhausted Miyeon through into his bedroom, settling her down on the mattress and sitting down on his desk to work on some lyrics.
He wouldn't leave her to wake up in an unfamiliar place.
