"Hwang Miyeon!"
It was safe to say that a hammering knock on her door combined shouts of her name quite easily woke the girl from her slumber. Luckily, considering the time that they had actually all split up to go to bed last night, it didn't seem to be too early in the morning.
"I'm up!" Miyeon called, clearing her throat and stifling a yawn that threatened to send her straight back to sleep. The knocking and calling of her name ceased and she could hear footsteps leading away from her room.
Digging her palms into the mattress to get a good grip, the Hwang girl managed to push herself up into a sitting position, rubbing sleep out of her eyes and attempting to untangle her legs from the patterned sheets.
Even if she was still rather tired, eyes aching to close and push her back into a world of dreams, at least it was light outside, past dawn and the start of a new day. Which meant that she didn't have a choice but to get up.
The hum of the awakening city was matching the inside of the dorm, the sound of soft music and cooking being heard as Miyeon pushed her door open, a bundle of clothes in her arms as she padded towards the bathroom.
"Ah.. Jugyeong." Miyeon barely even registered who she was seeing stood beside Chanmi and Kaien as they prepared several breakfast-style egg sandwiches. "Good morning." She added, almost as an afterthought when she realised how rude her greeting - or lack thereof - could be percieved as rude.
"Good morning!" Jugyeong was taking the sandwiches and wrapping them neatly in pink and white striped paper, then placing them in small reusable boxes. She still didn't exactly trust herself cooking but still wanted to help anyway, opting for the "Sorry for the late notice, but Heekyung sent me to wake everyone and bring them to the company building."
"No idea why?" Maiya appeared from the direction of the bathroom, carefully drying out the excess amount of water in her hair with a cotton sheet before moving onto a hairdryer. "I've finished in the bathroom, if anyone else needs it."
"I'll go shower and change in a minute." Miyeon replied, holding up her pile of clothes, Maiya nodded, still wringing out her hair.
"No idea, sorry." Jugyeong offered a smile, packing the last sandwich into a box. "But I should go and check that the boys have all woken up."
"I'll come with you." Chanmi instantly said, eyes slightly wide. "You do not want to go in there alone - not before they've had a chance to do their cleaning for the day."
"You'd be surprised how dirty they can get it in a matter of hours - even if they're not there for the most of them." Kaien added, stacking up the various boxes. "We made quite a few, Jugyeong you should have one and let the boys fight over the last ones."
Figuring that the conversation was only going to descend into further discussion about how four boys living in an apartment together could lead to an almost impressive mess and the ability to fight over everything, Miyeon quickly rushed into the bathroom.
Within minutes she was in and out of the shower, regretting the fact that she couldn't stay under the hot stream of water for longer, and changed into her outfit - a purple sweater with an old comic book style image in the centre and wide-leg black jeans - rushing to dry her hair and do her makeup before rejoining the group of girls in the kitchen, slipping past them to collect her bag and throw as many things as she could think of into it.
"There's a van waiting downstairs." Jugyeong read from her phone, helping them with anything that she could as they made their way towards the door, favourite shoes pulled off of the rack and coats stuffed into bags in case it rained.
"I thought we told them to wait out here!" Chanmi exclaimed as they pulled the apartment door to a close, Maiya using her set of keys to unlock it.
Shaking her head, Miyeon slipped between Kaien and Jugyeong, raising her fist and knocking on the door. "Time to go!" She shouted, voice far too loud for that early in the morning. With no reply, she pushed the door open and wrinkled her nose at the defining masculine smell. "God can someone get them some form of.. diffuser or something."
"I'm already planning on it." Chanmi called from behind her. "It's not too messy luckily."
"I'll have you know that we've actually been cleaning whilst we waited." Seojun appeared through the gap that Miyeon's actions had provided. He flashed a friendly smile in the direction of Jugyeong, moving out of the way so that the other boys could join them.
"Jugyeong, nice to see you." Of course, the Im girl knew Hyunwoo rather well. He was included in their group of school friends and all of them had grown close in their last year of high school and the months following that, when trainee life wasn't as intensive and what exactly the plans were with the trainees weren't too certain.
"Good morning." Jugyeong smiled back, eyes flickering over the group of trainees before them, all dressed in casual clothes with their hands stuffed in pockets of their coats or hoodies, hats pulled down over their hastily brushed and dried hair. "Right - we should go."
She led the way, Chanmi sidling up to her as they walked and beginning to talk to her about makeup - just wanting a few tips and tricks to help her. Hyunwoo was not far behind, focused mainly on Australian girl.
Miyeon stepped forward and slid her arm under Daehwan's the boy stifling a yawn and carrying a guitar case. "Did you sleep well?" She asked, pulling him along into a walk and using it an an opportunity to adjust the dark strands of hair that peaked out from under his hat.
"I was busy." He yawned again. "Writing a melody."
"Well it's important you have enough sleep - did you have breakfast? Here, I have an egg sandwich." Miyeon reached for her bag, but Daehwan stopped her.
"I made sure I got one when Jugyeong and Chanmi came with them." He reassured her. "Thank you for worrying though."
"And you need to eat your own sandwich." Seojun appeared by her side, looking down at Daehwan, eyebrows raised. "Think I could have a look at that melody a little later?"
"Of course." Daehwan nodded, seeming to get one of the forever obvious hints that the Han boy wanted to talk to his best friend - that was something that had been established early on during their training days together.
"So what do you think it's going to be about?" Seojun asked, reaching inside her bag and taking out the sandwiches, looking down at it before pressing it into Miyeon's hands. "Make sure you eat this during the journey, alright? It's important that you keep eating."
"I haven't badly eaten in years, Seojun. I know how to take care of myself now." Miyeon informed him, tone teasing but also rather matter-of-fact. "No worries.. it's cute."
"Cute?"
"Sure it is." The girl giggled at his reaction, shaking her head. "But as for the meeting.. I have no idea. If we're all going, something big maybe, or talking about something crucial."
"Or they found out about us sneaking pizza in last night. Or staying until midnight." Maiya chimed in. "We were never explicitly told not to.. but they do care an awful lot about our wellbeing and that we get enough sleep."
Yet again - Move Entertainment was different from others in the industry. It just wasn't a risk they could take anymore, couldn't let something happen to one of their trainees or idols like it had Seyeon.
"We won't get in trouble for that." Seojun instantly shot down the suggestion, seeing the worried glances of Daehwan and Kaien. "Honestly, it'll just be something about the two groups together."
And they really hoped it would be, but the two groups of trainees couldn't help but wonder what the meeting was going to be about as they piled into the van to make their way back to the company building.
Hoping that what they found wasn't something relating to them being in trouble.
