It had been a few weeks since Dahlia had seen Harry, well apart from school. They couldn't go and play at the park anymore... Dudley would obviously be there but they would usually just ignore him. His punishment was really bad, Dahlia could tell. Harry had been begging his aunt and uncle to see Dahlia one last time before she would leave to the so called boarding school her parents sent their children to.
Since the snake incident, whenever Harry returned from school he would be forced to go to his cupboard until dinner. Dahlia wished she could use magic to talk to him but she knew how much that could get her parents and herself into so she only got to speak to him at school.
Her parents had been noticing that she had been rather blue since and had tried to cheer her up but it wouldn't last long. Her siblings had come back for the summer so that was an up.
Dahlia was currently lying on a huge Cushion that was on her floor as she held her quill in her right hand, dipping it in ink as she wrote on a fresh piece of parchment.
"Dahlia!" Her mother called from the kitchen down stairs.
"Yes mum!"
"Demetria has arrived!" Her mother said as quick footsteps came up the stairs towards her bed room door.
"Lia!" The brunette screamed with her arms wide open as the curly haired girl pushed herself up from the her place from on the her place on the cushion and running into her arms.
"I missed you so much!" Dahlia exclaimed as they separated.
" its only been 2 weeks." Demetria said as she jumped onto her friends bed.
"Yes and it's been an extremely boring two weeks." Dahlia said as she went back to her place on her cushion.
"What are you doing?" Demetria asked as she peeked over.
"Writing back to Draco. He's asking if I've gotten my Hogwarts letter yet." Dahlia responded as she dipped the quilt into ink again.
"When will I meet this Draco character anyway?"
"You haven't met him?"
"Nope. Or maybe I have." Demetria said as she shrugged her shoulders.
"I'll introduce you to him when I get the chance." Dahlia assured the girl before rolling up the parchment.
"Rosie!" Dahlia called for one of their family owls.
The young barn owl flew up to the window of Dahlia's bedroom and pecked her beaks on the glass a few times getting the attention of the girl. Dahlia walked over to the window, putting her hand in the gauntlet where she kept a few snacks for whenever she sent the owls for a delivery. She took out a hand full and she opened the window and stuck her hand out, letting the owl eat. Once she finished the snack, Dahlia picked up the parchment roll and some ribbon and tied it around her foot.
"This is for Draco, yes the same person as last time." She told her as she kissed the top of the owls head before letting her fly off into the distance.
Demetria admired her compassion towards animals, even though she wasn't a part of the Terra Viventium community she still was always intrigued by them.
"So what should we do first?" Dahlia asked the brunette as before a mischievous smile formed.
The girls decided to prank Dahlias older siblings. Well they were gonna try atleast. Her mother was going to the store to buy some groceries, well the muggle store. They tagged along and asked the woman to buy a few ingredients for some baking.
The moment they got home they got to work. It took them an 2 hours but it looked perfect and believable. They were laid out on a plate and any minute her siblings would come down stairs for a snack.
The two friends took their plate of Jelly Donuts and quickly sat on the wooden bar stools, watching eagerly. They waited alot longer than expected, 45 minutes to be exact. They had almost given up when Dahlia's 13 year old older siblings, Celeste and Bellamy came down in a chatter about who knows what.
That caused the girls' eyes to perk up as they watched their movements. The twins' eyes trailed to the two girls eager eyes and furrowed their eyes. They then ignored them as they shrugged their shoulders before spotting the plate full of fresh Jelly Donuts. They licked their lips hungrily before they each took one.
The minute they sunk their teeth into the fried dough their teeth their faces scrunched into a look of disgust before spitting it out onto the floor.
"Ughhh Dahlia!!" Bellamy huffed making the two girls burst into laughter.
"WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON YOU!!" Celeste roared before throwing the donut at the girls who dodged it, making them jump up from their seats and run in split directions.
The girls laughed as they were chased by the 13 year olds. Lucky for them their parents weren't home, only for a short while. Bellamy was hot on Dahlia's tail but the younger girl was alot faster and agile. She always did well in ghay category during their yearly Underaged Elemental Attainments Month they had been attending every year since they were a few months old.
During that month they would be tested on the work they had learned during the year, both physically and mentally. They only would start doing big exams when they would go to their chosen wizardry school. After their first year they would stop this program, only because in that first year of there they would start their more academic classes with more students like themselves instead of with a tutor or their parents.
By now the girls had managed to find a place to hide as they panted in exhaustion. They were in the guest room that overlooked he street of Privet Drive. They locked the door before walking around the room. Their attention was diverted to the window, where outside there were tens of owls perched on the grounds, car and roof of the Dursley household.
"I'm betting a Galleon that he got his letter or is trying to." Demi suggested as they watched the owls patiently wait there.
"Speaking of letters, have you gotten yours?" Dahlia asked her friend.
"Nope or maybe I have. I've been here the entire day, it could be home waiting for me. " Demetria said reassuringly.
"I'm not entirely sure it works like that. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see." Dahlia said to her friend.
Lucky for them they'd only have to wait a little longer.
